Altern.te bearin. habit, a common.phen.men.n.prevalen. in.some of the fruit trees is observed in.black.pepper variety Pan.iyur-1 also. In.this study, an.attempt was made to in.estigate the role of carbohydrates, min.ral n.trien.s an. plan. hormon.s (IAA an. zeatin.riboside) in.altern.te bearin. in.Pan.iyur-1 variety. The experimen. was con.ucted for three con.ecutive years at Murugarajen.ra estate, Madik.ri, k.rn.tak., In.ia (12.42。n. 75.73。E). Carbohydrate, min.ral n.trien. an. plan. hormon. (IAA an. zeatin.riboside) statuses of the leaves as well as fruitin. bran.hes (stem) were compared between.good fruitin. year (on.year) an. low fruitin. year (off year). Results revealed that con.en.ration.of min.ral n.trien.s in.leaves was more durin. on.year compared to off year while the reverse was true on.the stem. Both stem an. leaf metabolite levels at harvest were higher in.off year compared to on.year suggestin. that remobilization.of n.trien.s to the developin. berries must have been.affected durin. off year, thus leadin. to accumulation.of more n.trien.s at harvest in.off year compared to on.year. Leaf had higher con.en.ration.of most of min.ral n.trien.s compared to stem. Sprayin. of 1% solution.of complex fertilizer 19:19:19 (percen. n.P:k. three times at an.in.erval of 3 week. from flower primordial in.tiation.to flowerin. period en.an.ed the yield to the exten. of aroun. 30% durin. off year. Auxin.to cytok.n.n.ratio was 6.6 an. 6.1 in.on.year an. 6.3 an. 5.7 in.off year at flowerin. an. 3 mon.hs after flowerin. respectively, suggestin. that this ratio itself may n.t play a major role in.flowerin. durin. on.an. off years, though the ratio was slightly more durin. on.year. Results of the study in.icate that efficien. utilization.of metabolites an. n.trien.s in.on.year may ren.er vin. weak.in.the subsequen. year coupled with poor remobilization.in.o developin. berries, which could mak. it an.off year.

Achievin. Six-Sigma process capability starts with l isten.n. to the Voice of the Customers, an. it becomes a reality by combin.n. th e People Power an. the Process Power of the organ.sation. This paper presen.s a Six-Sigma implemen.ation.case study carried out in.a magn.t man.facturin. compa n., which produces bearin. magn.ts to be used in.en.rgy meters. If the thick.ess of the produced bearin. magn.ts is between.2.35 mm an. 2.50 mm, they will be ac cepted by the customers. All the time the compan. could n.t produce the bearin. magn.ts within.the specified thick.ess ran.e, as their process distribution.was flat with 2.20 mm as lower con.rol limit an. 2.60 mm as upper con.rol limit. This resulted in.a huge loss in.the form of n.n.con.ormities, loss of time an. goodwill. The process capability of the compan. then.was aroun. 0.40. Organ.sat ion.restructurin. was carried out to reap the ben.fit of the People Power of the organ.sation. Statistically design.d experimen.s (Taguchi Method based Design.o f Experimen.s), On.in. quality con.rol tools (Statistical Process Con.rol To ols) were effectively used to complete the DMAIC (Defin., Measure, An.lyse, Impr ove an. Con.rol) cycle to reap the ben.fit of the Process Power of the organ.sat ion. Presen.ly the compan. en.oys a process capability of 1.75, a way towards Si x-Sigma Process Capability.

AIM To compare a n.vel, fully syn.hetic, polyurethan. based glue(MAR-1) to fibrin.sealan. in.a partial liver resection.rat *** After 50% resection.of the lateral left liver lobe in.male Wistar rats(n.= 7/group/time poin.), MAR-1, Fibrin.or n. Cl was applied. After 14, 21 an. 90 postoperative days, sealan. degradation. in.ra-abdomin.l adhesion. were scored, an. histological examin.tion.of liver tissue was ***(Mean.± SEM)(MAR-1 vs Fibrin.vs n. Cl). Bleedin. mass was sign.fican.ly higher in.n. Cl(3.36 ± 0.51 g)compared to MAR-1(1.44 ± 0.40 g) an. Fibrin.1.16 ± 0.32 g). 本研究调查了5485株椰子树,结果表明不论何种土壤,叶腐病的发生与根枯萎病的发生及严重度存在密切联系。叶腐病只在根枯萎病树上出现,椰子根枯萎病早期、中期和后期重复侵染叶腐的发病率分别为39.57％、78.86％和98.42％;结果树没有叶腐的根枯萎病自然发病率多于未结果树,当70％椰树发生根枯萎病时,叶腐病发病率不断上升,确证根枯萎病促使叶腐病发生。虽然未结果病树较少,但幼龄树易被重复侵染。适当的田间卫生和其他防治叶腐和根枯萎病的综合措施,可有效地制止病害的迅速蔓延,从而防止椰树萎凋。
