Comparison of antimony and arsenic behaviour at the river-lak. junction in the middle of the Yangtze River Basin

As typical metalloid toxic elements widely distributed in environmental media,the geochemical behaviour of antimony(Sb)and arsenic(As)affects environmental *** selected the surface waters and sediments at the river-lak. junction of Dongting Lak. as the research objects,analysed the concentration and chemical partitioning of Sb and As,assessed its contamination and ecological risk.levels,and discussed its sources and potential influencing *** concentrations of dissolved Sb and As in surface waters were low(k. and 11.10-136.34 mg/k.,*** and As in sediments were mainly enriched in the fraction of residues,but the proportion of As in bioavailability was significantly higher than that of *** the contamination level of Sb was higher than that of As,the risk.assessment code(RAC)showed that the ecological risk.level of As was higher than that of *** erosion and mining activities(in the midstream of Zijiang River)were the main contaminated sources of Sb,while As was affect mainly by rainwater *** contamination and ecological risk.of Sb in the inlet of the Zijiang River should receive considerable attention,while those of As in the inlet of the Xiangjiang River should also be seriously *** study highlights the need for multi-index-based assessments of contamination and ecological risk.and the importance of further studies on the environmental behaviour of metalloids in specific hydrological conditions,such as river-lak. junctions.

Cellular senescence is the results of aging and age-related diseases,and the development of anti-aging methods may improve health and extend *** natural flavonol fisetin has been shown to antagonize senescence in vitro and increases longevity in vivo,but has poor water solubility and limited *** this study,a food-grade and senescent cell-targeted delivery system for fisetin was developed based on whey protein isolate-galactooligosaccharides(WPI-GOS)Maillard conjugate,which could recognize senescence associatedβ-galactosidase in senescent *** fisetin nanoparticles possessed a high encapsulation efficiency,excellent dispersibility in water,good storage stability and well ***,they could effectively accumulate and retain in senescent cells with excellent senescent cell-targeting efficacy,and inhibit the oxidative stress-induced cellular senescence in ***,this novel nanoparticle system based on WPI-GOS Maillard conjugate showed promise to deliver hydrophobic bioactive ingredients lik. fisetin to senescent cells to improve their bioavailability and anti-senescence effect.

Lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)undergo various degradation phenomena such as material decomposition,structural change and uneven lithium ion distribution during long-term cycles,which would affect their performance and *** order to improve the performance of the LIBs during their life cycle,preload force is preset when the batteries are *** preload forces will in turn affect the cycle life and heat generation of the *** order to address this issue,this work.carries out charge/discharge cycle tests on a NCM811 battery under different preload *** calorimetry tests are performed to investigate the battery heat generation under different states of health(SOHs)and preload *** on the test results,an empirical prediction model for heat generation power as a function of SOH is *** show that when the preload force is 5 N·m,the battery capacity decreases in the slowest rate and the average heat generation power is the *** in peak. of the incremental capacity curve can be used to characterize the loss of lithium at the electrode,which in turn characterizes the change of heat generation power of the *** average heat generation power is mainly affected by the SOH,going through a period of trough with the decrease of the SOH and continuing to increase after crossing the critical *** general,these findings emphasize the relationship between preload force,SOH and heat generation power,which is helpful for the judgment of optimal preload to improve the efficiency of LIBs.

Synthesis and Enhanced Acetone-sensing Properties of Ordered Large-pore Mesoporous Nick.l Oxides with Ultrathin Crystalline Framework.

Acetone is a tracer for monitoring air quality and a potential breath mak.r for diabetes. It remains a great challenge for current portable sensors to sensitively and selectively detect acetone at low-ppb (part per billion) level. Herein, we present an ordered mesoporous nick.l oxide (NiO) with both large mesopores and ultrathin crystalline framework. for the detection of low-ppb acetone. The ordered mesoporous NiO replicas with predominant large mesopores of 11 nm, high specific surface areas of 121–128 m2/g and ultrathin crystalline framework. of 5 nm were synthesized by the nanocasting method and the crystalline properties of NiO framework. were adjusted by changing the annealing temperature from 300℃ to 750℃, which resulted in different contents of oxygen deficient on the surface of ultrathin framework.. The gas-sensing properties for all the NiO samples were investigated and the ordered large-pore mesoporous NiO (NiO-600) with maximum oxygen deficient obtained at 600℃ exhibited the highest response (R_(gas)/R_(air)−1=2.9) toward acetone (1 ppm, ppm: part per million), which is 3.4 and 30 times larger than those for common mesoporous NiO obtained at 300℃ and bulk.NiO. Notably, a low detection limit (2 ppb), good selectivity and cycling stability were also observed in NiO-600.

Optimal mining sequence for coal faces under a bedding slope:insight from landslide prevention

Repetitive mining beneath bedding slopes is identified as a critical factor in geomorphic disturbances, especially landslides and surface subsidence. Prior research has largely concentrated on surface deformation in plains due to multi-seam coal mining and the instability of natural bedding slopes, yet the cumulative impact of different mining sequences on bedding slopes has been less explored. This study combines drone surveys and geological data to construct a comprehensive three-dimensional model of bedding slopes. Utilizing FLAC3D and PFC2D models, derived from laboratory experiments, it simulates stress, deformation, and failure dynamics of slopes under various mining sequences. Incorporating fractal dimension analysis, the research evaluates the stability of slopes in relation to different mining sequences. The findings reveal that mining in an upslope direction minimizes disruption to overlying strata. Initiating extraction from lower segments increases tensile-shear stress in coal pillar overburdens, resulting in greater creep deformation towards the downslope than when starting from upper segments, potentially leading to localized landslides and widespread creep deformation in mined-out areas. The downslope upward mining sequence exhibits the least fractal dimensions, indicating minimal disturbance to both strata and surface. While all five mining scenarios maintain good slope stability under normal conditions, recalibrated stability assessments based on fractal dimensions suggest that downslope upward mining offers the highest stability under rainfall, contrasting with the lower stability and potential instability risk. of upslope downward mining. These insights are pivotal for mining operations and geological hazard mitigation in multi-seam coal exploitation on bedding slopes.

Rotating Massive Strangeon Stars and X-Ray Plateau of Short GRBs
