Jejunal small ectopic pancreas developing into jejunojejunal intussusception:A rare cause of ileus

Intussusception is rare in adults. We describe a 62-year-old man with jejunal ectopic pancreas that led to jejunojejunal intussusception and ileus. The patient was admitted to our hospital because of intermittent abdominal pain. Plain abdominal radiography showed some intestinal gas and fluid levels. Abdominal CT scan demonstrated a target sign suggesting bowel intussusception. Jejunography using a naso-jejunal tube showed an oval-shaped mass about 15 mm in diameter with a smooth surface in the jejunum, which suggested a submucosal tumor (SMT), and edematous mucosa around the mass. Partial jejunal resection was carried out and the resected oval-shaped tumor, 14 mm×11 mm in size, was found to be covered with normal jejunal mucosa. The tumor was histologically diagnosed as type ectopic pancreas according to the classification proposed by *** pain resolved *** case reminds us that jejunal ectopic pancreas should be included in the differential diagnosis of intussusception caused by an SMT in the intestine.

Zn1-xMgxTe ternary alloy is a candidate for an optically active layer in green-to-blue range of spectrum and a cladding layer for improving a performance of ZnTe-based pure-green light-emitting-diodes and for realizing ZnTe-based laser diodes. Unfortunately, there are only a few work. on Zn1-xMgxTe epitaxial layer grown by metalorganic vapor phase epitaxy （MOVPE）, which is a potential epitaxial growth technique for mass production. In our previous studies, nominally undoped Zn1-xMgxTe epitaxial layers have been successfully grown on （100） ZnTe substrates by MOVPE using dimethylzinc （DMZn）, bis-methylcyclopentadienyl-magnesium （（MeCp）2Mg） and diethyltelluride （DETe）. It has been found that the Mg composition in the layer drastically increases with decreasing DETe transport rate or with increasing the total carrier gas flow rate. In addition, we have reported on the relationship between the optical quality of the grown layers and the transport rate ratio of group VI source to group II ones. On the other hand, the substrate temperature is also one of the important parameter of growth condition. However, there is no report on the influence on the growth of Zn1-xMgxTe layer. In this work. we studied the effects of substrate temperature upon the optical properties, Mg composition, and surface morphology of undoped Zn1-xMgxTe layers grown by MOVPE. The growth of undoped Zn1-xMgxTe layers was performed on （100） ZnTe substrates using a vertical-type atmospheric pressure MOVPE system in almost the same manner as employed in the previous studies. The transport rates of DMZn, （MeCp）2Mg, and DETe were fixed at 15, 2, and 10μmol/min, respectively. The total flow rate of hydrogen carrier gas was 800 sccm. The substrate temperature （Tsub） was varied from 340 to 420 °C. The Mg composition （x） and the surface morphology were investigated by energy dispersion X-ray （EDX） analysis and atomic force microscopy, respectively. In this study, waste glycerol from biodiesel pretreatment was tested as catalyst for the supercritical water gasification. Hydrogen fermentation solid residue of food waste（FW-HFSR） was gasified in the supercritical water gasification reactor with and without FW-HFSR. The FW-HFSR showed good catalytic effect. Considering reagent glycerol does not show any catalytic effect, k.H in waste glycerol should have work.d as catalyst. Based on this finding, first-order rate equation has been developed, and good agreement with experimental result.

This paper reviews the development of current research in bulk.glassy alloys by focusing on the trigger point for the synthesis of the first bulk.glassy alloys by the conventional mold casting method. This review covers the back.round, discovery, characteristics, and applications of bulk.glassy alloys, as well as recent topics regarding them. Applications of bulk.glassy alloys have been expanding, particularly for Fe-based bulk.glassy alloys, due to their unique properties, high glass-forming ability, and low cost. In the near future, the engineering importance of bulk.glassy alloys is expected to increase steadily, and continuous interest in these novel metallic materials for basic science research is anticipated.

Dimethyl ether (DME) is a clean and economical alternative fuel which can beproduced from natural gas through synthesis gas. The properties of DME are very similar to those ofLP gas. DME can be used for various fields as a fuel such as power generation, transportation, homeheating and cook.ng, etc. It contains no sulfur or nitrogen. It is not corrosive to any metal andnot harmful to human body. An innovative process of direct synthesis of DME from synthesis gas hasbeen developed. Newly developed catalyst in a slurry phase reactor gave a high conversion and highselectivity of DME production. One and half year pilot scale plant (5 tons per day) testing, whichwas supported by METI, had successfully finished with about 400 tons DME production.
