What does it mean to study PDE (Partial Differential Equation)? How and what to do “to claim proudly that I’m studying a certain PDE”? Newton mechanic uses mainly ODE (Ordinary Differential Equation) and describes nicely movements of Sun, Moon and Earth etc. Now, so-called quantum phenomenum is described by, say Schrödinger equation, PDE which explains both wave and particle characters after quantization of ODE. The coupled Maxwell-Dirac equation is also “quantized” and QED (Quantum Electro-Dynamics) theory is invented by physicists. Though it is said this QED gives very good coincidence between theoretical1 and experimental observed quantities, but what is the equation corresponding to QED? Or, is it possible to describe QED by “equation” in naive sense?

Mg-Y-Zn-Al alloys processed by rapidly solidified ribbon consolidation(RSRC)technique exhibit an exceptional mechanical performance indicating promising application *** material has a bimodal microstructure consisting of fine recrystallized and coarse non-recrystallized grains with solute-rich stack.ng faults forming cluster arranged layers(CALs)and nanoplates(CANaPs),or complete long period stack.ng ordered(LPSO)*** order to reveal the deformation mechanisms,in-situ synchrotron X-ray diffraction line profile analysis was employed for a detailed study of the dislocation arrangement created during tension in Mg-0.9%Zn-2.05%Y-0.15%Al(at%)*** uncovering the effect of the initial microstructure on the mechanical performance,additional samples were obtained by annealing of the as-consolidated specimen at 300 and 400℃ for 2 *** heat treatment at 300℃ had no significant effect on the initial microstructure,its evolution during tension and,thus,the overall deformation behavior under tensile *** the other hand,annealing at 400℃ resulted in a significant increase of the recrystallized grains fraction and a decrease of the dislocation density,leading to only minor degradation of the mechanical *** maximum dislocation density at the failure of the samples corresponding to the plastic strain of 10-25% was estimated to be about 16-20×10^(14)m^(-2).The diffraction profile analysis indicated that most dislocations formed during tension were of non-basal and pyramidal types,what was also in agreement with the Schmid factor values revealed independently from orientation *** was also shown that the dislocation-induced Taylor hardening was much lower below the plastic strain of 3% than above this value,which was explained by a model of the interaction between prismatic dislocations and CANaPs/LPSO plates.

This study aimed to identify the reasons for transferring athletes to local medical facilities during the Olympic and Paralympic *** on 567 injuries and other illnesses of athletes treated at the on-site clinics were collected from the Tok.o 2020 Organizing *** these,84 athletes who required outpatient care during the Games were registered for this *** the Olympic and Paralympic Games,66(8.3/1000)and 18(7.2/1000)athletes,respectively,consulted external medical *** the Olympic Games,the reasons for these visits included 48 cases(72.7%)of injuries,13(19.7%)cases of illnesses,and 5(7.6%)cases of heat strok. illness(HSI).Of these patients,56(84.9%)were treated as outpatients and 10(15.1%)were hospitalized,while three of these patients required hospitalization for>7 *** the other hand,in the Paralympics Games,there were 7(38.8%)cases of injuries,9(50.0%)other illnesses,1(5.6%)case of HSI,and 1(5.6%)other cases,of which 11(61.1%)were treated as outpatients and 7(38.9%)were hospitalized,but none was hospitalized for>7 *** accounted for 70%of the total cases at the 2021 Olympic Games,but only three(0.05%)were severe cases that required hospitalization for more than 1 *** contrast,in the Paralympic Games,other illnesses accounted for approximately half of the total *** study provides details on the extent of injuries and other illnesses that were transferred to outside facilities,which has not been documented in previous games.

We analyzed the relationship between internode number and intemode length for one of the largest bamboo, Phyllostachys pubescens Mazel ex Houz. For 50 sample culms with various sizes felled in a pure stand of P. pubescens, the intemode number was assigned from base to tip and the length for each internode was directly measured. The result indicated that the intemode length should be cumulated from base to tip, and then the cumulated internode length should be relativized by the total culm length. It was inappropriate to relativize the internode length by the maximum intenode length. In addition, the relationship between the relative internode number （the intemode number relativized by the total number of intemodes） and the relative cumulated internode length should be described not by a power function but by a sigmoid function such as the third-order function. The determined function enabled us to estimate the actual internode length, with the root mean squared error being 4 cm. In conclusion, the mathematical expression presented here, i.e., the relativization of the cumulated internode length by the total culm length and the application of the sigmoid function, will be useful in describing the relationship between internode number and internode length for P. pubescens.

The collision dynamics and fragmentation process of molecule by highly charged ion impact for single electron capture processes at the low energies below 1 k.V/u were studied. The collision energy dependence of the recoil momentum was obtained experimentally and compared it with those calculated by a theoretical model using a deflection function with polarization potential. A fairly good agreement between the measured and calculated results was reached. This suggests that the polarization potential plays a crucial role in the low-energy region.

The elution of lead from vermiculite was investigated by using a novel biodegradable chelating reagent, L asparagic N,N diacetic acid (ASDA) and water soluble depolymerized pectic acid and comparing with a conventional chelating reagent, EDTA, as well as acetic acid. The influences of the reagent concentration, equilibrium pH and the suspension contact time on Pb extraction were examined. It is concluded that the acetic acid is not effective for Pb removal in any case due to its weak.complexing ability with Pb. Although Pb is easier to be released by EDTA with stoichiometric amount, it is by no means the preferable alternative for the purpose because of its low biodegradability. On the other hand, ASDA and depolymerized pectic acid have the potential application because they are not only effective for Pb elution but also environmentally friendly.
