Preparation of rice fermented food using root of Asparagus racemosus as herbal starter and assessment of its nutrient profle

The popularity of traditional fermented food products is based on their *** addition of a starter brings consistent,desirable,and predictable food changes with improved nutritive,functional,and sensory *** addition of a mixture of plant residues as a starter or source of microbes is an age-old practice to prepare traditional fermented food and beverages,and most of the reported data on traditional foods were based on the analysis of the fnal *** contribution of an individual starter component(plant residue)is not experimentally substantiated for any traditional fermented food,but this data are very essential for the formulation of an efective *** this study,Asparagus racemosus,which used as a common ingredient of starter for preparation of rice fermented food in the Indian sub-continent,was used as a starter for the preparation of rice fermented food under laboratory scale,and its microbial and nutrient profle was *** fermented product was a good source of lactic acid bacteria,Bifdobacterium sp.,yeast,*** food product was acidic and enriched with lactic acid and acetic acid with titratable acidity of 0.65%.The content of protein,fat,minerals,and vitamins(water-soluble)was considerably *** notably,oligosaccharide(G3-matotriose),unsaturated fatty acids(ω3,ω6,ω7,andω9),and a pool of essential and non-essential amino acids were enriched in the newly formulated ***,the herbal starter-based rice fermented food would provide important macro-and *** could also deliver large numbers of active microorganisms for the sustainability of ***,the selected plant part conferred its suitability as an efective starter for the preparation of healthier rice-based food products.

Boundary layer flow and heat transfer of a Casson fluid past a symmetric porous wedge with surface heat flux

The aim of this paper is to investigate numerically the boundary layer forced convection flow of a Casson fluid past a symmetric porous wedge. Similarity transformations are used to convert the governing partial differential equations into ordinary ones. With the help of the shooting method, the reduced equations are then solved numerically. Comparisons are made with the previously published results in some special cases and they are found to be in excellent agreement with each other. The results obtained in this study are illustrated graphically and discussed in detail. The velocity is found to increase with an increasing Falk.er-Sk.n exponent whereas the temperature decreases. With the rise of the Casson fluid parameter, the fluid velocity increases but the temperature is found to decrease in this case. Fluid velocity is suppressed with the increase of suction. The sk.n friction decreases with the increasing value of Casson fluid parameter. It is found that the temperature decreases as the Prandtl number increases and thermal boundary layer thick.ess decreases with the increasing value of Prandtl number. A significant finding of this investigation is that flow separation can be controlled by increasing the value of the Casson fluid parameter as well as by increasing the amount of suction.

In this paper,an improvement has been made to the approximation technique of a complex domain through the stair-step approach to have a considerable accuracy,minimize computational cost,and avoid the hardship of manual work.A novel stair-step representation algorithm is used in this regard,where the entire procedure is carried out through our developed MATLAB *** C-grid is used in our approximation with(1/120)°grid *** a test case,the method is applied to approximate the domain covering the area between 15°-23°N latitudes and 85°-95°E longitudes in the Bay of *** with the approximation of the land-sea interface,coastal stations are also *** land-sea interfaces and coastal stations are found to be in good agreement with the actual ones based on the similarity index,overlap fraction,and extra fraction *** method can be used for approximating an irregular geometric domain to employ the finite difference method in solving problems related to long *** a test case,shallow water equations in Cartesian coordinates are solved on the domain of interest for simulating water levels due to the nonlinear tide-surge interaction associated with the storms April 1991 and AILA,2009 along the coast of *** same input except for the discretized domain and bathymetry as that of Paul et al.(2016)is used in our *** results are found to be in reasonable agreement with the observed data procured from Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority.

Progression of Alzheimer’s disease(AD)bears close proximity with the tissue loss in the medial temporal lobe(MTL)and enlargement of lateral ventricle(LV).The early stage of AD,mild cognitive impairment(MCI),can be traced by diagnosing brain MRI scans with advanced fuzzy c-means clustering algorithm that helps to tak. an appropriate *** this paper,firstly the sparsity is initiated in clustering method that too rician noise is also incorporated for brain MR scans of AD ***,a novel neighbor pixel constrained fuzzy c-means clustering algorithm is designed where topoloty-based selection of parsimonious neighbor pixels is *** adaptability in choice of neighbor pixel class outliers more justified object edge boundary which outperforms a dynamic cluster *** proposed adaptive neighbor constrained deviation sparse variant fuzzy c-means clustering(AN_DsFCM)can withhold imposed sparsity and withstands rician noise at imposed sparse *** novel algorithm is applied for MRI of AD subjects and normative data is acquired to analyse clustering *** data processing pipeline of theoretically plausible proposition is elaborated in *** experimental results are compared with state-of-the-art fuzzy clustering methods for test MRI *** evaluation and statistical measures are studied to meet both image processing and clinical neurophysiology *** the performance of proposed AN_DsFCM is significantly better than other methods.

The discovery of a giant comet (C/2014 UN271) at a distance of 29 AU in October 2014 and the later discovery in September 2021 of a dramatic brightening episode offers an ideal opportunity for verifying the predictions of a “biological” comet. The eruptions of the comet at a heliocentric distance of 20 AU are plausibly explained as due to high pressure venting of the products of microbial metabolism in radioactively heated subsurface lak.s. The standard non-biological model of comets is woefully inadequate to account for eruptions at such large distances from the sun where surface temperatures are as low as 60 k.

Analyzing driver's response to yellow indication subjected to dilemma incursion under mixed traffic condition

Under mixed traffic conditions prevailing on Indian roads,drivers show complex response when faced with yellow signal because lane assignment gets dynamic in *** present study analyzes the effect of surrounding vehicles on response of the drivers while facing dilemma at *** dilemma zone definitions hold true in case of homogeneous traffic mix,a statistical analysis is performed to check.the consistency across the definitions under mixed traffic *** study shows a significant difference in percentage of red light running in comparison to homogeneous traffic as reported by various *** carrying out the research,study locations are chosen in such a way to reflect diversity in road geometry,traffic composition and signal *** results deduced in this study indicate a strong correlation between the driver's decision mak.ng choice and the effect of presence of surrounding vehicle at the onset of yellow *** effect of critical time analysis has been found out to be one of the parameters other than critical distance in categorizing driver's aggressiveness while facing the yellow *** the process of identifying the statistical significance of dilemma zone definitions,it has been found that under heterogeneous traffic condition,drivers behave differently as compared to homogenous traffic when it comes to dilemma *** is observed that the percentage of vehicles crossing the intersection when faced with dilemma by violating the red light is 11.6%according to dilemma zone definition I whereas the definition II has yielded about 10.8%violation covering different vehicle *** above violation figures derived based on the above definition is somewhat higher as compared to homogeneous traffic condition which is observed to be of the order of 5%-6%.

Thermal Characteristics of Air-Water Spray Impingement Cooling of Hot Metallic Surface under Controlled Parametric Conditions

Experimental results on the thermal characteristics of air-water spray impingement cooling of hot metallic surface are presented and discussed in this *** controlling input parameters investigated were the combined air and water pressures,plate thick.ess,water flow rate,nozzle height from the target surface and initial temperature of the hot *** effects of these input parameters on the important thermal characteristics such as heat transfer rate,heat transfer coefficient and wetting front movement were measured and *** flat plate samples of mild steel with dimension 120 mm in length,120 mm breadth and thick.ess of 4 mm,6 mm,and 8mm respectively were *** air assisted water spray was found to be an effective cooling media and method to achieve very high heat transfer rate from the *** heat transfer rate and heat transfer coefficients were obtained for the lesser i.e,4 mm thick.*** in the nozzle height reduced the heat transfer efficiency of spray *** an inlet water pressure of 4 bar and air pressure of 3 bar,maximum cooling rates670℃/s and average cooling rate of 305.23℃/s were achieved for a temperature of 850℃ of the steel plate.
