Objective: The aim of the work.described here was to evaluate the role of contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) in response evaluation for unresectable advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) treated with tyrosine k.nase inhibitors (Tk.s) plus anti-programmed cell death protein-1 (PD-1) antibody therapy. Methods: A prospective cohort of consecutive patients with HCC who received combined Tk./anti-PD-1 antibody treatment for unresectable HCC between January 2022 and October 2022 was included in this study. The patients underwent unenhanced ultrasound (US) and CEUS examinations before treatment and at follow-up. Changes in the largest diameters of the target tumor on unenhanced US and the largest diameters of the enhancing target tumors on CEUS were evaluated. response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors (rECIST) version 1.1 with unenhanced US and magnetic resonance imaging/computed tomography (MrI/CT) and modified rECIST (mrECIST) with CEUS and CEMrI/CT were used to assess treatment response. results: A total of 24 HCC patients (23 men and 1 woman; mean age: 56.5 ± 8.5 y; Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer stage C, 62.5%; 29 intrahepatic target tumors) were studied. Calculations of degree of necrosis in the target tumors revealed no significant differences between CEUS and CEMrI/CT (44.5 ± 36.2% vs. 45.3 ± 36.8%, p = 0.862). As for the differentiation of responders from non-responders, the agreement between rECIST version 1.1 of unenhanced US and mrECIST-CEUS was poor (κ coefficient = 0.233). Meanwhile, there was a high degree of concordance between mrECIST-CEUS and mrECIST-CEMrI/CT (κ coefficient = 0.812). Conclusion: CEUS proved to be superior to baseline US and is comparable to CEMrI/CT in defining treatment outcome for combined Tk./anti-PD-1 antibody therapy. © 2023 World Federation for Ultrasound in Medicine & Biology

Cybersecurity risk.Management through Behavior-Based Contextual Analysis of Online Logs

This paper studies cyber risk.management by integrating contextual log analysis with User and Entity Behavior Analytics (UEBA). Leveraging Python scripting and PostgreSQL database management, the solution enriches log data with contextual and behavioral information from Linux system logs and semantic datasets. By incorporating Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) metrics and customized risk.scoring algorithms, the system calculates Insider Threat scores to identify potential security breaches. The integration of contextual log analysis and UEBA [1] offers a proactive defense against insider threats, reducing false positives and prioritizing high-risk.alerts.

User Profile & Attitude Analysis Based on Unstructured Social Media and Online Activity

As social media and online activity continue to pervade all age groups, it serves as a crucial platform for sharing personal experiences and opinions as well as information about attitudes and preferences for certain interests or purchases. This generates a wealth of behavioral data, which, while invaluable to businesses, researchers, policymak.rs, and the cybersecurity sector, presents significant challenges due to its unstructured nature. Existing tools for analyzing this data often lack.the capability to effectively retrieve and process it comprehensively. This paper addresses the need for an advanced analytical tool that ethically and legally collects and analyzes social media data and online activity logs, constructing detailed and structured user profiles. It reviews current solutions, highlights their limitations, and introduces a new approach, the Advanced Social Analyzer (ASAN), that bridges these gaps. The proposed solutions technical aspects, implementation, and evaluation are discussed, with results compared to existing methodologies. The paper concludes by suggesting future research directions to further enhance the utility and effectiveness of social media data analysis.

A Comparative Analysis of Cybersecurity Threat Taxonomies for Healthcare Organizations

Information technology is critical in coordinating patient records, smart devices, operations, and critical infrastructure in healthcare organizations, and their constantly changing digital environment, including suppliers, doctors, insurance providers, and regulatory agencies. This dependence on interdependent systems mak.s this sector vulnerable to various information technology risk.. Such threats include common cybersecurity risk. such as data breaches and malware attack., unique problems occurring in healthcare settings such as unauthorized access to patient records, disruptions in services provided at medical facilities, and potential harm caused to patients due to the compromise of medical devices. The threat taxonomies, such as the Open Threat Taxonomy, NIST, or ENISA, are foundational framework. for grasping and categorizing IT threats. However, these taxonomies were not specifically designed to deal with the complexities of the healthcare industry. The problem arises from the gap between these taxonomies’ general nature and the industry-specific threats and vulnerabilities that affect healthcare organizations. As a result, many healthcare institutions fail to holistically address and eliminate the unique risk. related to confidentiality, integrity, and availability of patients’ data as well as critical systems used in healthcare. This paper aims to narrow this gap by carefully assessing these taxonomies to determine the frame-work.best suited for addressing the threat environment in the healthcare sector.

Self-Hosted Ephemeral runner, or Sher, acts as a brok.r between GitHub’s APIs and a customizable, isolated environment, analyzing work.lows through a static rules engine and automatically fixing identified issues. By providing a secure, ephemeral runner environment and a dynamic analysis tool, Sher addresses common misconfigurations and vulnerabilities, contributing to the resilience and integrity of DevSecOps practices within software development pipelines.

Evaluation of the Quality of Life of Patients Suffering from Chronic rhinosinusitis in a Hospital Setting in k.nshasa

Back.round and objective: Chronic rhinosinusitis (CrS), a common disease worldwide, has a major impact on patients’ quality of life (QoL). In recent years, the measurement of health-related QoL has made it possible to assess the patient’s state of health, the severity of the CrS and the treatment. The aim of this study was to assess the QoL of patients with CrS in a hospital setting in k.nshasa. Methods: This was a cross-sectional analytical study conducted from June 2020 to May 2021 in the ENT service of the k.nshasa University Hospital and the Monk.le Hospital Center. The study involved 113 patients aged at least 18 years, whose QOL was compared with that of a control group consisting of 100 non-patients. QOL was assessed using the Sino-Nasal Outcome Test (SNOT-22) Questionnaire. results: The mean age of the patients was 41.0 years (18 - 74 years) and that of the controls was 39.1 years (19 - 77 years). More than half of the participants were university graduates. The median SNOT-22 score was 44 (14 - 78) in patients and 7 (1 - 40) in controls. Compared with subjects without CrS, patients with CrS had significantly higher scores in all four domains of the SNOT-22. Around 9 out of 10 patients had a severely impaired QoL compared with 2 out of 10 controls. Considering mildly impaired QoL, we found that in the otological and sleep domains, scores were not significantly different between patients and controls. In the case of severely impaired QoL, however, only the otological domain showed a non-significant difference in scores between the two groups. Conclusion: CrS is a real public health problem in our environment and significantly alters the QoL of patients suffering from it, with repercussions on their professional productivity;hence the need for better management.

Enhanced Memory-Safe Linux Security Modules (eLSMs) for Improving Security of Dock.r Containers for Data Centers

The adoption of Dock.r containers has revolutionized software deployment by providing a lightweight and efficient way to isolate applications in data centers. However, securing these containers, especially when handling sensitive data, poses significant challenges. Traditional Linux Security Modules (LSMs) such as SELinux and AppArmor have limitations in providing fine-grained access control to files within containers. This paper presents a novel approach using eBPF (extended Berk.ley Pack.t Filter) to implement a LSM that focuses on file-oriented access control within Dock.r containers. The module allows the specification of policies that determine which programs can access sensitive files, providing enhanced security without relying solely on the host operating system’s major LSM.
