A new type of methacrylate monomer, 2-（4-benzoylphenoxy）-2-oxoethyl methylacrylate （BOEMA） was synthesized. The radical homopolymerization of BOEMA was performed at 65℃ in a 1,4-dioxane solution with benzoyl peroxide as an initiator. The oxime and thiosemicarbazone derivatives of poly[2-（4-benzoylphenoxy）-2-oxoethyl methylacrylate] poly（BOEMA） were prepared with hydroxylamine hydrochloride, and thiosemicarbazone hydrochloride, respectively. The monomer and its homopolymer were characterized with Fourier transform infrared and NMR techniques. The thermal stabilities of poly（BOEMA） and its derivatives were investigated with thermogravimetric analysis and differential scanning calorimetry. The ultraviolet stability of the polymers was compared. The antibacterial and antifungal effects of the monomer and the polymer and its derivatives were also investigated on various bacteria and fungi. The activation energies of the thermal degradation of the polymers were calculated with the Ozawa and kissinger methods.

In this study,uniaxial compressive strength(UCS),unit weight(UW),Brazilian tensile strength(BTS),Schmidt hardness(SHH),Shore hardness(SSH),point load index(Is50)and P-wave velocity(Vp)properties were *** predict the UCS,simple regression(SRA),multiple regression(MRA),artificial neural network(ANN),adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system(ANFIS)and genetic expression programming(GEP)have been *** obtained UCS values were compared with the actual UCS values with the help of various *** were modeled using different methods and compared with each *** the study where the performance indice PIat was used to determine the best performing method,MRA method is the most successful method with a small *** is concluded that the mean PIat equal to 2.46 for testing dataset suggests the superiority of the MRA,while these values are 2.44,2.33,and 2.22 for GEP,ANFIS,and ANN techniques,*** results pointed out that the MRA can be used for predicting UCS of rocks with higher capacity in comparison with *** to the performance index assessment,the weakest model among the nine model is P7,while the most successful models are P2,P9,and P8,respectively.

A numerical analysis of the thermohydraulics of an enhanced geothermal system project is presented. The rock structures are modelled as porous medium, based on the computationally obtained hydraulic fracturing data of other authors. The influence of the domain size, grid resolution, temporal resolution and the discretization scheme is assessed to obtain a highly accurate numerical solution under the prevailing modelling assumptions. Based on the numerical model, different production scenarios are investigated and discussed. The relative positioning of the injection and production ports is also analyzed. It is shown that there is a considerable potential for optimizing the production rate and the port configuration to obtain the most favorable results for the production temperature, investment costs and operation costs.

Neuroendocrine tumors(NETs) are uncommon gastrointestinal neoplasms but have been increasingly recognized over the past few decades. Luminal NETs originate from the submucosa of the gastrointestinal tract and careful endoscopic exam is a key for accurate diagnosis. Despite their reputation as indolent tumors with a good prognosis,some NETs may have aggressive features with associated poor long-term survival. Management of NETs requires full understanding of tumor size,depth of invasion,local lymphadenopathy status,and location within the gastrointestinal tract. Staging with endoscopic ultrasound or cross-sectional imaging is important for determining whether endoscopic treatment is feasible. In general,small superficial NETs can be managed by endoscopic mucosal resection and endoscopic submucosal dissection(ESD). In contrast,NETs larger than 2 cm are almost universally treated with surgical resection with lymphadenectomy. For those tumors between 11-20 mm in size,careful evaluation can identify which NETs may be managed with endoscopic resection. The increasing adoption of ESD may improve the results of endoscopic resection for luminal NETs. However,enthusiasm for endoscopic resection must be tempered with respect for the more definitive curative results afforded by surgical treatment with more advanced lesions.

Does central tympanic membrane perforation affect infrared tympanic thermometer measurements in adults?

Objective: Infrared Tympanic Thermometer(ITT) is one of the most useful instruments for accurately measuring temperature. The effects of ear pathologies on ITT measurement remain unclear. The purpose of this study is to determine if tympanic membrane perforation(TMP) affects ITT measurements in adult *** and methods: A total of 90 adult patients with monaural central TMP were enrolled in this *** were categorized into three subgroups according to perforation size(1-3 mm, 4-7 mm, and 8-10 mm).The tympanic temperatures of the affected and unaffected sites, and subgroups were compared with each ***: This study contained 54(60%) males and 36(40%) females ranging from 20 to 58 years of age(mean age: 30.74 ± 9.61 years). The mean tympanic temperature of the side affected with TMP was 36.34 oC ± 0.61 *** mean tympanic temperature of the unaffected side with healthy and intact tympanic membrane was 36.33 oC ± 0.6 oC. The Pearson correlation score for the tympanic temperatures and the size of TMP was 0.22 which was not significant(r=-0.12).Conclusion: TMP and perforation size do not affect ITT measurements in adult patients.

Geochemistry and Zircon U-Pb Dates of Felsic-Intermediate Members of the Late Cretaceous Yüksekova Arc Basin: Constraints on the Evolution of the Bitlis–Zagros Branch of Neotethys(Elazig, E Turkey)

During the Late Cretaceous in the Eastern Mediterranean, the northern branch of the southern Neotethys was closed by multiple northward subductions. Of these, the most northerly located subduction created the Baskil continental arc at around 82–84 Ma. The more southerly and intra-oceanic subduction, on the other hand, produced an arc-basin system,the Yüksekova Complex, as early as the late Cenomanian–early Turonian. The abundant and relatively well-studied basaltic rocks of this complex were intruded by dykes, sills and small stocks of felsic–intermediate rocks, not previously studied in detail. The intrusives collected from five different localities in the Elazig region of eastern Turkey are all subalkaline, with low Nb/Y values. Most of them have been chemically classified as rhyodacites/dacites, whereas a small number appear to be andesites. In normal mid-ocean-ridge basalt(N-MORB)-normalised plots, the intrusives are characterised by relative enrichments in Th and La over Nb, Zr, Hf, Ti and high field strength elements(HREEs), indicating their derivation from a subduction-modified source. While their relatively high, positive εN d(i) values(+6.4 and +7.2) might suggest a depleted mantle source for their ultimate origin, somewhat radiogenic Pb values indicate a sedimentary contribution to the source of the rocks. The overall geochemical characteristics indicate their generation in an oceanic arc setting. The zircon U-Pb Laser ablation-inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry(LA-ICP-MS) data obtained from five felsic-intermediate rock samples yielded intrusion dates of 80–88 Ma. This suggests that the Elazig oceanic arc-related intrusives are slightly younger than those of the Yüksekova arc-basin system, but coeval with the Baskil continental arc. However, the felsic–intermediate intrusives show different geochemical characteristics(oceanic arc-type, with a lack of crustal contamination)to those of the Baskil continental arc. FT-IR and Raman spectra of 1-cyclopentylpiperazine(1cppp)have been experimentally examined in the region of 4000–*** optimized geometric parameters,conformational equilibria,normal mode frequencies and corresponding vibrational assignments of 1cppp(C9H18N2)are theoretically examined by means of B3LYP hybrid density functional theory(DFT)method together with 6-31++G(d,p)basis *** the basis of potential energy distribution(PED)reliable vibrational assignments have been made and the thermodynamics functions,highest occupied and lowest unoccupied molecular orbitals(HOMO and LUMO)of 1cppp have been *** are employed for four different conformations in C1 and Cs point groups of 1cppp in gas *** between the experimental and theoretical results indicates that B3LYP method is able to provide satisfactory results for predicting vibrational frequencies and the structural parameters,vibrational frequencies and ***,C1(equatorial-axial)point group has been found as the most stable conformer of 1cppp.

AIM： To present our clinical experience with gallbladder perforation cases.METHODS： Records of 332 patients who received medical and/or surgical treatment with the diagnosis of acute cholecystitis in our clinic between 1997 and 2006 were reviewed retrospectively. Sixteen （4.8%） of those patients had gallbladder perforation. The parameters including age, gender, time from the onset of symptoms to the time of surgery, diagnostic procedures, surgical treatment, morbidity, and mortality were evaluated.RESULTS： seven patients had type I gallbladder perforation, 7 type I gallbladder perforation, and 2 type m gallbladder perforation according to Niemeier＇ s classification. The patients underwent surgery after administration of intravenous electrolyte solutions, and were treated with analgesics and antibiotics within the first 36 h （mean 9 h） after admission. Two patients died of sepsis and multiple organ failure in the early postoperative period. Subhepatic abscess, pelvic abscess, pneumonia, pancreatitis, and acute renal failure were found in 6 patients.CONCLUSION： Early diagnosis and emergency surgical treatment of gallbladder perforation are of crucial importance. Upper abdominal computerized tomography for acute cholecystitis patients may contribute to the preoperative diagnosis of gallbladder perforation.
