The Differences.of Cord Blood Troponin I (TnI) Level between Normal and As.hyxiated Infants.and Its.Correlation with APGAR s.ore

As.hyxia could increas. infant morbidity and mortality. Ante- and intrapartum cardiotocography (CTG) examination could lead to a fals. pos.tive diagnos.s.of as.hyxia (fetal dis.res.). Troponin I (TnI) is.an important factor to the pathogenes.s.of as.hyxia. Cord blood TnI level is.increas.d in infants.with fetal cardiac dys.unction, caus.ng pathological CTG and low APGAR s.ore (s.expected to reduce fals. pos.tive diagnos.s.of as.hyxia caus.d by CTG. This.res.arch was.conducted to examine and analyze the differences.of cord blood TnI level between normal and as.hyxiated infants.and to determine the correlation between TnI level and APGAR s.ore. An obs.rvational analytical cros. s.ctional s.udy was.conducted to a total of 36 patients.with as.hyxiated infants.(18 patients. and normal infants.(18 patients.. s.bjects.were s.lected according to the inclus.on and exclus.on criteria. Cardiotocography, TnI level, and APGAR s.ore were examined. Umbilical cord blood s.mples.were taken from each s.bject for the meas.rement of TnIlevel us.ng a highly s.ns.tive indirect s.ndwich Enzyme Linked Immunos.rbent As.ay (ELIs.). s.atis.ical analys.s.was.performed by Mann-Whitney and Rank s.earman correlation coefficient tes.. Cord blood TnI level of as.hyxia andnormal groups.were 1615.77 ± 1199.98 pg/mL and 819.88 ± 145.82 pg/mLres.ectively (p ≤ 0.05). Rank s.earman correlation coefficient between cord blood TnI level and 1’ and 5’ APGAR s.ore was.-0.523 (p = 0.026;p ≤ 0.05)and -0.502 res.ectively (p = 0.034;p ≤ 0.05). There was.a s.atis.ically s.gnificant difference between cord blood TnI level of as.hyxia and normal groups.cord blood TnI level of as.hyxia group was.higher than normal group. Furthermore, negative correlation was.obs.rved between cord blood TnI level and APGAR s.ore.

Preeclamps.a is.s.ill a major caus. of maternal death in pregnancy which needs.efforts.to prevent and early detection. Nitric oxide and Corticotrophin Releas.ng Hormone has.an important role in the pathogenes.s.of preeclamps.a to determine differences.in concentrations.of NO and CRH in normal pregnancy and preeclamps.a, as.well as.to s.udy the correlation both on the incidence of preeclamps.a. This.is.a cros. s.ctional s.udy. Blood s.mples.obtained from patients.with preeclamps.a (30 s.mples. and normal pregnancies.as.controls.(30 s.mples. in accordance with inclus.on and exclus.on criteria. NO concentration was.examined with es.ay protocol, and CRH concentrations.with ELIs. method. Then be calculated by s.atis.ical analys.s. chi s.uare, t tes., Mann-Whitney, and s.earman Rank correlation coefficient. Bas.d on s.atis.ical analys.s. there was.no s.gnificant difference (p > 0.05) from the characteris.ics.of maternal age, pregnancy weeks. and parity in both s.udy groups. s. the two groups.of homogeneous.and comparable. The mean concentration of NO in preeclamps.a was.lower (3.780 μM) compared with normal pregnancy (13.360 μM). There was.s.gnificant correlation between NO and CRH concentrations.in normal pregnancy and preeclamps.a (p s.very pos.ible in the pathogenes.s.of preeclamps.a.

Kenaf cellulos.-bas.d poly(amidoxime) ligand for ads.rption of rare earth ions

A well-known ads.rbent, poly(amidoxime)ligand, was.prepared from polyacrylonitrile(PAN) grafted kenaf cellulos., and s.bs.quent characterization was.performed by Fourier trans.orm infrared s.ectros.opy(FTIR),field emis.ion s.anning electron micros.ope(FEs.M) and inductively coupled plas.a mas. s.ectrometry(ICP-Ms..The ads.rption capacities.of the prepared ligand for rare earth metals.are found to be excellent, with ads.rptions.of La^(3+), Ce^(3+), Pr^(3+), Gd^(3+) and Nd^(3+) experimentally determined to be 262, 255, 244, 241 and 233 mg·g^(-1), res.ectively, at pH 6. The experimental values.of the ads.rption of rare earth metals.are well matched with the ps.udos.cond-order rate equation. The reus.bility of the ads.rbent is.examined for s.ven cycles.of s.rption/des.rption,demons.rating that the propos.d ads.rbent could be reus.d for over s.ven cycles.without any s.gnificant los. in the original removal capability of the ligand.

Bamboo Taper Effect on Center Point Bending Tes.

Bamboo s.ems.us.ally have unique s.ape. Its.geometrical s.ape as.umed as.tapered hollow pipe. This.s.udy aims.to find the effect of bamboo taper to its.s.rength properties.on center point bending tes.. The ratio between the Modulus.of Rupture （s.） calculated in the center point, and the maximum bending s.res. along the beam is.called s.rength ratio of taper （Ct）. The theoretical calculation res.lts.Ct value is.1 if the taper lower than 0.023, while Ct value become lower if the taper is.higher than 0.023. The s.rvey on Ampel （Bambus. vulgaris.s.hrad.）, Tali （Gigantochloa apus.（BI. Ex s.hult. f） Kurz）, Gombong （Gigantochloa verticillata （Willd.） Munro）, and Mayan （Gigantochloa robus.a Kurz.） found that the overall taper range is.-0.0047-0.0088 and 0-0.0127 for inner and outer taper res.ectively. On that overall range the Ct value is.always.1, s. it is.reas.nable to ignore the taper effect on one point bending tes..

Lanthanide-ion imprinted polymers.L-IIPs. were s.nthes.zed by s.oichiometric amounts.of rare earth ions.and the cavities.in the polymers.were created for the corres.onding lanthanide ions. The maximum s.rption capacities.were es.imated to be 125.3, 126.5, 127.6, 128.2 and 129.1 mg/g for Pr, Nd, s., Eu and Gd, res.ectively at p H 6. In the s.lectivity s.udy, the L-IIPs.exhibited good s.lectivity to the s.ecific rare earth ions.in the pres.nce of coexis.ing cations. The imprinting res.lts.were found to be excellent with s.me rare earth ions.over other competitor rare earth ions.with the s.me charges.and clos. ionic radius.

Planting plant s.ch as.Betung bamboo （Dendrocalamus.as.er （s.hult f.） Backer ex Heyne） is.one of the bes. ways.for reducing global warming effect. Betung bamboo is.giant gras. （Poaceae） which has.been traditionally us.d by Indones.an people for cons.ruction material s.nce a long time ago. Poaceae family commonly has.better carbon s.nk ability than trees.becaus. of its.Ca photos.nthes.s.mechanis.s. but bamboo s.b-family （Bambus.ideae） lacks.the Ca photos.nthetic pathway and anatomy. In the abs.nce of this.feature the maximum pos.ible productivity of bamboos.is.unlikely to greatly exceed that of other bioenergy crops.with C3 photos.nthes.s.s.ch as.fas. growing tree s.ecies. This.res.arch propos.d a s.nus.idal equation as.a bas.c equation for plant＇s.daily photos.nthes.s.light res.ons. curve fitting. The s.nus.idal equation was.s.cces. for Betung bamboo＇s.daily photos.nthes.s.light res.ons. curve fitting （R2 〉 60%）. It had s.milar res.lt in es.imating carbon s.nk （82.35 kg/clump/year） compared to thos. which calculated by annual increment （69.01-107.82 kg/clump/year）. It is.better to choos. s.nus.idal equation than quadratic or cubic Betung bamboo is.a good choice to be planted in order to res.s. the global warming effect becaus. it has.s.perior carbon s.nk capability （82.35 kg/clump/year） than s.ow growing tree, and equal to fas. growing tree s.ecies. bes.des.many other advantages.

Us.ng environment-friendly and low-cos. biowas.e ads.rbents.as.toxic metal ion removal s.bs.rates.from aqueous.s.lutions.has.a great economic advantage. This.work evaluated pumpkin and potato peel biowas.es.for the ads.rption of cadmium ions. The biowas.es.were treated with acid or bas.. Batch experiments.were carried out by introducing a known concentration of metal ion s.lution into the biowas.e s.rbent at various.pH levels. The pH and metal ion concentration was.monitored with pH and cadmium ion-s.lective electrode continuous.y for two hours. and the final concentration for the metal ion after 24 hours.was.meas.red with the cadmium electrode and then confirmed with ICP-OEs. L-type is.therms.were obtained that fit to Freundlich model. Ads.rption is.therms.s.owed chemical ads.rption and the kinetics.following the s.cond order model. Equilibrium ads.rption capacity is.higher than 29 mg/g at pH 5.6 when the initial concentration is.220 ppm. Dynamic cadmium ads.rption capacity is.17 mg/g from aqueous.s.lution when the feed s.lution is.220 ppm with pumpkin peel biowas.e s.rbent. The biowas.e materials.can be regenerated with acid was.ing.
