Consumer Trust--Challenge for E-Healthcare

The evolution of interuet within last years and continuous advances in electronic commerce and communication provide exciting opportunities to implement powerful framework of resources, tools and applications that revolutionize way in which healthcare institutions interact with their patients, as well as deliver and manage medical services. Internet-based healthcare is application of information and communication technologies across the whole range of healthcare functions. It covers everything from electronic prescriptions and computerized medical records to the use of new systems and services that cut waiting times and reduces data errors. Development and implementation of web-enabled communication, patient services and other e-health initiatives are increasingly important to maintaining competitive advantage and to compete for market share. More importantly, value added for patients by facilitating access to information and resources is expected to improve quality of services, speed of treatment and potentially to rationalize management of administrative processes. However, introductions of such e-healthcare services into market can be successful on condition that customers will recognize all these advantages and have trust in organizations provide theses e-services. In this paper authors will concentrate on customer trust as key factor determining success of e-healthcare. The purpose of this study will determine character and power of trust placed by customers in e-healthcare, and to identify factors influencing customers trust to e-healthcare. Authors have ventured thesis that customer trust to e-healthcare is high as consequence of even higher customer satisfaction with traditional healthcare services and great customer trust in traditional healthcare institutions.

Dear Editor,Seed dormancy is adopted by plants to optimize their reproductive strategy. The DOG 1 （DELAY OF GERMINATION 1） gene is the main QTL controlling this trait in Arabidopsis （Bentsink et al., 2006） and therefore is extensively regulated. This includes the alternative polyadenylation （APA） of DOG1 mRNA （Cyrek et al., 2016） and an antisense transcript, asDOGl, which in cis suppresses DOG1 expression during seed maturation （Fedak et al., 2016）. As with many antisense transcripts （Mellor et al., 2016; Rosa et al., 2016）, asDOG1 originates from close to the transcription termination site of the sense gene. This raises the question of how this proximity affects antisense promoter activity.

Primary carbohydrate metabolism genes participate in heat-stress memory at the shoot apical meristem of Arabidopsis thaliana

In plants, the shoot apical meristem (SAM) is essential for the growth of aboveground organs. However, little is known about its molecular responses to abiotic stresses. Here, we show that the SAM of Arabidopsis thaliana displays an autonomous heat-stress (HS) memory of a previous non-lethal HS, allowing the SAM to regain growth after exposure to an otherwise lethal HS several days later. Using RNA sequencing, we identified genes participating in establishing the SAM's HS transcriptional memory, including the stem cell (SC) regulators CLAVATA1 (CLV1) and CLV3, HEAT SHOCK PROTEIN 17.6A (HSP17.6A), and the primary carbohydrate metabolism gene FRUCTOSE-BISPHOSPHATE ALDOLASE 6 (FBA6). We demonstrate that sugar availability is essential for survival of plants at high temperature. HEAT SHOCK TRANSCRIPTION FACTOR A2 (HSFA2A) directly regulates the expression of HSP17.6A and FBA6 by binding to the heat-shock elements in their promoters, indicating that HSFA2 is required for transcriptional activation of SAM memory genes. Collectively, these findings indicate that plants have evolved a sophisticated protection mechanism to maintain SCs and, hence, their capacity to re-initiate shoot growth after stress release.

Since children, as a rule, have more free time than adults, it is adults＇ responsibility to provide children with a chance to spend the time of relaxation, play, and fun in a beneficial way. Unfortunately, children＇s spare time is nowadays very frequently organized for the sake of brushing up children＇s knowledge, skills, and competences, which is accomplished by means of escalating extra-curriculum activities. When expressed by teacher and parents, these ambition-related attitudes pave the way for the disappearance of children＇s personal interests and motivations to perform complicated tasks which are perceived as unwanted or obscure by the affected children themselves. This form of adults＇ behavior may lead to the feelings of frustration, stress, demotivation, or rebellion on behalf of their children. The said emotional states, especially in relation to the lack of spontaneous play, give rise to serious psychic dysfunctions, and the instability of children＇s psychic balance. It may also pave the way for various forms of destructive behavior that mostly characterize children of younger school age who are about to start schooling.

Shared Value in Practice： TOMS Business Model

The article deals with the idea of building a company around the corporate social responsibility （CSR） principles and designing a business model that is simultaneously economically viable, lucrative, and of social benefits. TOMS is analyzed as an example of a company that took this approach and succeeded. The main research questions try to examine the basic assumptions of TOMS business model in light of shared value concept and uncover the reasons of company＇s success. The authors claim that two factors played there a crucial role. Firstly the leader whose passion was so contagious that he/she managed to build the team and set up a company based on his/her ideas. Secondly TOMS business model concept （One for One） is convincing for customers who eagerly join the movement. This business case illustrates how a company that is based on social values can grow.

This research estimates carbon sink and allocation in above-and below-ground biomass of a 12-year-old willow coppice plantation on fl uvisol soil near the Vistula River(southern Poland).The plantation showed high C sink potential and sequestration rates.C sequestration by aboveground biomass was estimated at 10.8 Mg C ha^−1 a^−*** in coarse roots was estimated at 1.5 Mg C ha^−1 a^−1 and in fi ne roots at 1.2 Mg C ha^−1 a^−*** C sequestered(above-ground biomass,coarse roots and fi ne roots)was estimated at 13.5 Mg C ha^−1 a^−*** results confi rm the potential of fast-growing plantations of willow to mitigate,over a short time span,the eff ects of high CO 2 concentrations.

Determination of Energetic and Geometric Properties of Plant Roots Specific Surface from Adsorption/Desorption Ishoterm

Background and Aims: Structure and composition of plant roots surfaces are extremely complicated. Water vapor adsorption/desorption isotherm is a powerful tool to characterize such surfaces. The aim of this paper is to present theoretical approach for calculating roots surface parameters as adsorption energy, distribution of surface adsorption centers, as well as roots geometric and structure parameters as surface fractal dimension, nanopore sizes and size distributions on example of experimental isotherms of roots of barley taken from the literature. This approach was up to date practically not applied to study plant roots. Methods: Simplest tools of theoretical analysis of adsorption/desorption isotherms are applied. Results: Parameters characterizing energy of water binding, surface complexity and nanopore system of the studied roots were calculated and compared to these of the soils. Some possible applications of root surface parameters to study plant-soil interactions are outlined. Conclusions: Physicochemical surface parameters may be important for characterizing root surface properties, their changes in stress conditions, as well as for study and model plant processes. Physicochemical and geometrical properties of plant roots differ from these of the soils.

The Effectiveness of the Methane Drainage of the Rock-Mass with a Parallel Ventilation Heading during Longwall Mining

Methane drainage is used in Polish coal mines in order to reduce mine methane emission as well as to keep methane concentration in mine workings at safe levels. This article describes the method of methane drainage used in longwall 2 in seam 506. In Poland, coal seams are frequently mined in difficult conditions of very high methane hazard. Under such situations, methane is drained by means of parallel ventilation headings. This paper shows the influence of a specific ventilation system on the drainage efficiency at longwall 2 in seam 506. At this longwall, measurements of methane emission and the efficiency of drained methane were conducted. They consisted in gauging methane concentration, air velocity, absolute air pressure and the amount of methane removed via a drainage system. Experimental data were used to estimate the variations in absolute methane-bearing capacity, ventilation air methane and most importantly, to gauge the efficiency of methane drainage.

Validity and reliability of the Polish version of the Michigan Neuropathy Screening Instrument

BACKGROUND Diabetic sensorimotor polyneuropathy is an important risk factor for foot ulceration and ***,patients with diabetes should be screened for this disorder according to local *** obstacle to the diagnosis of this disease may be the lack of unified diagnostic criteria due to the lack of properly validated scales used for *** To validate both sections(A and B)of the Michigan Neuropathy Screening Instrument(MNSI)in Polish(PL)patients with *** A cross-sectional study using a test(A1,B1)and re-test(A2,B2)formula was performed in 80 patients with *** gold standard used for neuropathy detection was a nerve conduction study(NCS)which was performed in all *** of the MNSI-PL was assessed using the Cronbach’s alpha,Kuder-Richardson formula 20(KR-20),split-half reliability,the Gottman split-half tests,and correlation between first and second half was *** was assessed using an intraclass correlation coefficient(ICC).For external validation,we used simple linear correlation,binomial regression,and agreement between two different tools using a Bland-Altman plot *** The scale was internally consistent(Cronbach’s alpha for the full scale:0.81 for A and 0.87 for B).MNSI-PL scores in test/retest showed high stability(ICC=0.73 for A and ICC=0.97 for B).The statistically important correlations between MNSI-PL and NCS were found for B1,B2,and A1(P<0.005).The cut-off points of≥3 for section A(sensitivity of 90%-100%;specificity of 33%-40%)and≥2 for section B(sensitivity of 81%-84%;specificity of 60%-70%)were obtained during neuropathy *** The MNSI-PL is a reliable and valid instrument in screening for diabetic neuropathy.
