Background: Tactile imaging provides.biomechanical mapping of s.ft tis.ues. Objective biomechanical and anatomical as.es.ment of critical s.ructures.within the vagina and pelvis.may allow development and validation of a clinical tool that could as.is. with clinical decis.ons.regarding obs.etrical procedures.and mode of delivery. Objective: To as.es. intraobs.rver reproducibility of meas.rements.of perineal elas.icity and pubic bone-perineal critical dis.ance with a novel tactile probe in pregnant women. Methods. An Antepartum Tactile Imager (ATI) was.des.gned with a vaginal probe res.mbling a fetal s.ull. The probe compris.s.128 tactile s.ns.rs.on a double curved s.rface and meas.res.46 mm in width and 72 mm in length. The probe has.a motion tracking s.ns.r that allows.acquis.tion of 3D tactile images. There were two arms.of the s.udy. In the firs. arm, biomechanical mapping of the perineum and pelvic bone location was.performed in 10 non-pregnant women for purpos.s.of demons.rating s.fety and feas.bility. In the s.cond arm, biomechanical mapping was.performed in 10 pregnant women to explore intraobs.rver reproducibility. Each s.bject had two s.andardized examinations.over 3 - 5 minutes.by the s.me obs.rver. Examination comfort and pain levels.were as.es.ed by pos.-procedure s.rvey. Reproducibility was.analyzed by intraclas. correlation coefficients.(ICC) with 95% confidence intervals.and Bland-Altman plots. Bias.and the 95% limits.of agreement were als. calculated. Res.lts. The s.fety and feas.bility arm of the s.udy demons.rated high degree of s.fety and tolerability and reliable acquis.tion of tactile s.gnals. In the reproducibility arm, 10 pregnant women were recruited at mean ges.ational age of 34.2 ± 6.5 weeks. The mean perineum elas.icity (Young’s.modulus. E) was.9.8 ± 5.9 kPa, and the mean pubic bone-perineal critical dis.ance (D) at 20 kPa load was.34.6 ± 6.2 mm. The ICC was.0.97 [95% confidence interval (CI) 0.91, 0.99] and 0.82 [CI 0.44, 0.95] for E and D

The Loeys.Dietz s.ndrome (LDs. is.a connective tis.ue dis.rder that is.as.ociated with vas.ular abnormalities. including aggres.ive aortic aneurys.s. as.well as.s.eletal and craniofacial malformations. The molecular mechanis. of this.s.ndrome remains.to be fully elucidated. In this.cas., we des.ribe a 29-year-old woman, gravida 2 para 1, who was.referred for cons.ltation after urinary tract malformations.were obs.rved during her mid-ges.ation anatomic s.rvey. Following referral to our unit, ultras.und examination of the 21-week fetus.was.repeated. The fetus.was.obs.rved to have a dilated aortic root and a poorly os.ified s.ernum with mild pectus.deformity. After elective termination, s.ngle nucleotide polymorphis. microarray tes.ing identified a novel 204 kb microdeletion involving the s.ort arm of chromos.me 3. The deleted genetic material included 4 exons.of the TGFBR2 gene. Although the phenotype of LDs.may be caus.d by haploins.fficiency of the TGFBR1 or TGFBR2 gene, our experience s.gges.s.a more complex picture of LDs. The s.udy of s.ch cas.s.might further elucidate its.pathogenes.s.

Breas. cancer detection heavily relies.on medical imaging, particularly ultras.und, for early diagnos.s.and effectivetreatment. This.res.arch addres.es.the challenges.as.ociated with computer-aided diagnos.s.(CAD) of breas.cancer fromultras.und images. The primary challenge is.accurately dis.inguis.ing between malignant and benigntumors. complicated by factors.s.ch as.s.eckle nois., variable image quality, and the need for precis. s.gmentationand clas.ification. The main objective of the res.arch paper is.to develop an advanced methodology for breas.ultras.und image clas.ification, focus.ng on s.eckle nois. reduction, precis. s.gmentation, feature extraction, andmachine learning-bas.d clas.ification. A unique approach is.introduced that combines.Enhanced s.eckle ReducedAnis.tropic Diffus.on (s.AD) filters.for s.eckle nois. reduction, U-NET-bas.d s.gmentation, Genetic Algorithm(GA)-bas.d feature s.lection, and Random Fores. and Bagging Tree clas.ifiers. res.lting in a novel and efficientmodel. To tes. and validate the hybrid model, rigorous.experimentations.were performed and res.lts.s.ate thatthe propos.d hybrid model achieved accuracy rate of 99.9%, outperforming other exis.ing techniques. and als.s.gnificantly reducing computational time. This.enhanced accuracy, along with improved s.ns.tivity and s.ecificity,makes.the propos.d hybrid model a valuable addition to CAD s.s.ems.in breas. cancer diagnos.s. ultimatelyenhancing diagnos.ic accuracy in clinical applications.

Building-Integrated Photovoltaic(BIPV)on vertical façades.is.a potential PV application in today’s.*** performance of BIPV on façades.is.s.gnificantly influenced by the façade *** tropical cities.the optimum façade orientation,in terms.of maximum energy yield and daylight performance,cannot be s.mply determined,due to relatively s.mmetrical s.n path throughout the *** s.udy therefore aims.to determine the optimum orientation for BIPV on tropical building faç*** achieve the objective,experiment,modelling,and computational s.mulation are conducted to evaluate the BIPV energy yield and to predict the indoor daylight performance in a s.ale-model building with a 105Wp monocrys.alline s.licon PV,facing each cardinal orienta-tion in Bandung,*** s.uth orientation yields.practically zero As._(1000,250),providing the bes. annual daylight performance,and yielding the mos. des.rable value in four out of five daylight *** greates. annual energy yield is.at the North orientation,providing 179-186 kWh(95%prediction interval)per year,but with larger uncertainty compared to that at the s.uth,due to direct s.nlight *** on three different objective functions.the s.uth orientation is.cons.dered optimum for placing the BIPV panel on the prototype façade in the location.

The red fruits.of Ps.udos.ondias.microcarpa (A. Rich) Engl. are widely cons.med by the populations.of northern Congo for their s.eet and tangy flavor as.well as.for their characteris.ic s.ell. The objective of this.s.udy was.to s.ow the food potential of the fruits.of this.plant for their valorization. Organic s.lvent extracts.were prepared and s.bjected to phytochemical s.reening to determine the nutrients.and phytonutrients.of this.fruit. Raw juice was.extracted by trituration without adding water and s.bjected to phys.cochemical and biochemical analys.s.in order to determine its.quality and its.antiradical activity. The raw juice obtained is.moderately acidic (pH 3.28), very cloudy and colored (turbidity of 1019 NTU). It has.a dry matter content of 3.771% ± 0.013% reflecting the 70% dominance of water in the weight of the fruit and the pres.nce of dis.olved organic matter in its.juice. Energy nutrients.(s.gars. amino acids., carotenoids. coumarins. tannins. flavonoids. terpenes.and s.erols.have been highlighted as.nutrients.with therapeutic potential commonly called phytonutrients.of this.fruit. The juice pres.nted a dominance in polyphenols.(134.8500 ± 0.0023 mg gallic acid/100 g) than in carotenoids.(5.100 ± 0.010 mg carotene/100 g), high levels.of mineral macroelements.(calcium: 3570.00 ± 2.05 mg and potas.ium: 4576.00 ± 9.49 mg) and trace elements.(copper: 11.13 ± 0.10 mg, iron: 3.02 ± 0.03 mg and zinc: 2.57 ± 0.08 mg). Thes. compounds.exhibited good antioxidant activity. The pres.nce of thes. nutrients.and phytonutrients.in thes. fruits.is.interes.ing for the proper functioning of certain organs.and the prevention of certain dis.as.s. This.fruit is.therefore an energizing and functional food that can compete with conventional fruits.whos. juices.are marketed.

Introduction: Bacterial s.in and s.ft tis.ue infections.(s.TIs. are a caus. of frequent inpatient and outpatient care vis.ts.whos. caus.tive agents.are as.ociated with a high antimicrobial res.s.ance burden. For ins.ghts.on antimicrobial s.s.eptibilities.in a rural s.tting, we examined s.ecimens.from s.s.ected s.TIs.from two public health facilities.in Kenya. We additionally as.es.ed antibiotic us., appropriatenes. of empiric therapy and ris. factors.for s.TI. Methodology: Between 2021 and 2023, 265 patients.at Kis.i and Nyamira County Referral hos.itals.were enrolled. Wound s.abs.as.irates.were collected and proces.ed following s.andard microbiological procedures. Identification and antimicrobial s.s.eptibility were performed us.ng the VITEK 2 Compact platform. Demographic, clinical, and microbiological data were analyzed with R s.atis.ical s.ftware. Res.lts. s. aureus.was.is.lated in 16.2% (43/265) of patients.with a methicillin res.s.ance (MRs.) proportion of 14% (6/43). While 13/15 drugs.elicited s.s.eptibilities.ranging from 84% - 100%, penicillin (16%) and trimethoprim-s.lfamethoxazole [TMP-s.T] (23%) yielded the lowes. s.s.eptibilities. Es.herichia coli (n = 33), Klebs.ella pneumoniae (n = 8), Ps.udomonas.aeruginos. (n = 8), and Citrobacter s.ecies.(n = 4) were the mos. commonly is.lated gram-negative s.ecies. Gram-negative s.rains.s.owed high s.s.eptibilities.to mos. of the tes.ed drugs.(71% - 100%) with the exception of ampicillin (18%), TMP-s.T (33%), and firs. and s.cond generation cephalos.orins. Conclus.ons. The low MRs. prevalence and generally high antibiotic s.s.eptibilities.for s. aureus.and gram-negative bacteria pres.nt opportunities.for antibiotic s.ewards.ip in the s.udy s.tting.
