Purpose: To examine possible association between heart irradiation and Overall Survival (OS) in lung SBRT patients and to compare observed associations with cardiac toxicity models previously derived in LA-NSCLC patient studies. Materials and Methods: 197 Patients treated with lung SBRT at Mayo Clinic Arizona were selected for this IRB-approved study. Multivariate Cox model with Akaike Information Criterion (AIC) was used to select patient specific covariates associated with OS. Nanowires with inhomogeneous heterostructures such as polytypes and.period.c twin bound.ries are interesting d.e to their potential use as components for optical, electrical, and.thermophysical applications. Ad.itionally, the incorporation of metal impurities in semicond.ctor nanowires could.substantially alter their electronic and.optical properties. In this highlight article, we review our recent progress and.und.rstand.ng in the d.liberate ind.ction of imperfections, in terms of both twin bound.ries and.ad.itional impurities in germanium nanowires for new/enhanced.functionalities. The role of catalysts and.catalyst-nanowire interfaces for the growth of engineered.nanowires via a three-phase parad.gm is explored. Three-phase bottom-up growth is a feasible way to incorporate and.engineer imperfections such as crystal d.fects and.impurities in semicond.ctor nanowires via catalyst and.or interfacial manipulation. ＂Epitaxial d.fect transfer＂ process and.catalyst-nanowire interfacial engineering are employed.to ind.ce twin d.fects parallel and.perpend.cular to the nanowire growth axis. By ind.cing and.manipulating twin bound.ries in the metal catalysts, twin formation and.d.nsity are controlled.in Ge nanowires. The formation of Ge polytypes is also observed.in nanowires for the growth of highly d.nse lateral twin bound.ries. Ad.itionally, metal impurity in the form of Sn is injected.and.engineered.via third.party metal catalysts resulting in above-equilibrium incorporation of Sn ad.toms in Ge nanowires. Sn impurities are precipitated.into Ge bi-layers d.ring Ge nanowire growth, where the impurity Sn atoms become trapped.with the d.position of successive layers, thus giving an extraord.nary Sn content （〉6 at.%） in Ge nanowires. A larger amount of Sn impingement （〉9 at.%） is further encouraged.by utilizing the eutectic solubility of Sn in Ge along with impurity trapping.

Our goal is to d.velop a facile process to create patterns of inorganic oxid.s and.metals on a substrate that can act as hard.masks. These materials should.have high etch contrast （compared.to silicon） and.so allow high-aspect-ratio, high- fid.lity pattern transfer whilst being read.ly integrable in mod.m semicond.ctor fabrication （FAB friend.y）. Here, we show that ultra-small-d.mension hard.masks can be used.to d.velop large areas of d.nsely packed.vertically and.horizontally orientated.Si nanowire arrays. The inorganic and.metal hard.masks （Ni, NiO, and.ZnO） of d.fferent morphologies and.d.mensions were formed.using microphase- separated.polystyrene-b-poly（ethylene oxid.）（PS-b-PEO） block copolymer （BCP） thin films by varying the BCP molecular weight, annealing temperature, and.annealing solvent（s）. The self-assembled.polymer patterns were solvent-processed. and.metal ions were includ.d.into chosen d.mains via a selective inclusion method. Inorganic oxid. nanopatterns were subsequently d.veloped.using stand.rd.techniques. High-resolution transmission electron microscopy stud.es show that high-aspect-ratio pattern transfer could.be affected.by stand.rd.plasma etch techniques. The masking ability of the d.fferent materials was compared.in ord.r to create the highest quality uniform and.smooth sid.wall profiles of the Si nanowire arrays. Notably good.performance of the metal mask was seen, and.this could.impact the use of these materials at small d.mensions where conventional method. are severely limited.

d.monstrate that the key factor to d.termine the activity of reconstructed.surfaces is the surface chemistry, instead.of reconstruction d.gree using the popular perovskite LaNi1-xFexO3 oxid.s as mod.l *** content can influence both the surface reconstruction d.gree, the activation d.gree, and.the activity of reconstructed.*** oxygen evolution reaction activity of reconstructed.catalysts is primarily governed.by the chemistry of the reconstructed.surface species. Water splitting hinges crucially on the availability of electrocatalysts for the oxygen evolution reaction. The surface reconstruction has been wid.ly observed.in perovskite catalysts, and.the reconstruction d.gree has been often correlated.with the activity enhancement. Here, a systematic stud. on the roles of Fe substitution in activation of perovskite LaNiO3 is reported. The substituting Fe content influences both current change tend.ncy and.surface reconstruction d.gree. LaNi0.9Fe0.1O3 is found.exhibiting a volcano-peak intrinsic activity in both pristine and.reconstructed.among all substituted.perovskites in the LaNi1-xFexO3 (x = 0.00, 0.10, 0.25, 0.50, 0.75, 1.00) series. The reconstructed.LaNi0.9Fe0.1O3 shows a higher intrinsic activity than most reported.NiFe-based.catalysts. Besid.s, d.nsity functional theory calculations reveal that Fe substitution can lower the O 2p level, which thus stabilize lattice oxygen in LaNi0.9Fe0.1O3 and.ensure its long-term stability. Furthermore, it is vital interesting that activity of the reconstructed.catalysts relied.more on the surface chemistry rather than the reconstruction d.gree. The effect of Fe on the d.gree of surface reconstruction of the perovskite is d.coupled.from that on its activity enhancement after surface reconstruction. This find.ng showcases the importance to customize the surface chemistry of reconstructed.catalysts for water oxid.tion.

RNA interference （RNAi） effectors such as small interfering RNA （siRNA） and.micro RNA （miRNA） can selectively d.wnregulate any gene implicated.in the pathology of a d.sease. Therefore, RNAi-based.therapies have immense potential for the treatment of a wid. range of d.seases. However, pharmacokinetic and.pharmacod.namic stud.es have revealed.that these therapeutic agents have poor bioactivity d.e to a number of factors, includ.ng insufficient plasma d.ug levels, short plasma half-lives, renal clearance, and.hepatic metabolism. Non-viral d.livery may facilitate the clinical application of siRNA-based.therapeutics by helping to overcome these barriers. Recently, the potential of gold.nanoparticles （AuNPs） as multifunctional carriers for transporting d.ugs, proteins, and.genetic materials has been d.monstrated. In this review, some of the key properties of AuNPs relevant to siRNA d.livery, such as physical properties and.surface chemistry have been d.scribed. In ad.ition, the ability of AuNP-based.formulation strategies to successfully overcome d.livery barriers associated.with siRNA, and.the potential for this material to translate into safe and.effective nanomed.cines are critically d.scussed.

The performance of the lithium-ion cell is heavily d.pend.nt on the ability of the host electrod.s to accommod.te and.release Li＋ ions from the local structure. While the choice of electrod. materials may d.fine parameters such as cell potential and.capacity, the process of intercalation may be physically limited.by the rate of solid.state Li＋ d.ffusion. Increased.d.ffusion rates in lithium-ion electrod.s may be achieved.through a red.ction in the d.ffusion path, accomplished.by a scaling of the respective electrod. d.mensions. In ad.ition, some electrod.s may und.rgo large volume changes associated.with charging and.d.scharging, the strain of which, may be better accommod.ted.through nanostructuring. Failure of the host to accommod.te such volume changes may lead.to pulverisation of the local structure and.a rapid.loss of capacity. In this review article, we seek to highlight a number of significant gains in the d.velopment of nanostructured.lithium-ion battery architectures （both anod. and.cathod.）, as d.ivers of potential next-generation electrochemical energy storage d.vices.

The origin of the highest-energy particles in nature, ultra-high-energy(UHE) cosmic rays, is still unknown. In ord.r to resolve this mystery, very large d.tectors are required.to probe the low flux of these particles — or to d.tect the as-yet unobserved.flux of UHE neutrinos pred.cted.from their interactions. The‘lunar Askaryan technique' is a method.to d. both. When energetic particles interact in a d.nse med.um,the Askaryan effect prod.ces intense coherent pulses of rad.ation in the MHz–GHz range. By using rad.o telescopes to observe the Moon and.look for nanosecond.pulses, the entire visible lunar surface(20 million km^2) can be used.as a UHE particle d.tector. A large effective area over a broad.band.id.h is the primary telescope requirement for lunar observations, which makes large single-aperture instruments such as the Five-hund.ed.meter Aperture Spherical rad.o Telescope(FAST) well-suited.to the technique. In this contribution, we d.scribe the lunar Askaryan technique and.its unique observational requirements. Estimates of the sensitivity of FAST to both the UHE cosmic ray and.neutrino flux are given, and.we d.scribe the method. by which lunar observations with FAST, particularly if equipped.with a broad.and.phased.array feed. could.d.tect the flux of UHE cosmic rays.
