Standardized framework for assessing soil quality at antimony smelting site by considering microbial-induced resilience and heavy metal contamination

Antimony smelting activities damage the soil and vegetation surroundings while generating economic ***,no standardizedmethods are available to diagnose the extent of soil degradation at antimony smelting *** study developed a standardized framework for assessing soil quality by consideringmicrobial-induced resilience and heavymetal contamination at Xikuangshan antimony smelting *** soil resilience index(SRI)and soil contamination index(SCI)were calculated byMinimum Data Set and geo-accumulation model,*** standardized by a multi-criteria quantitative procedure of modified Nemerow’s pollution index(NPI),the integrated assessment of soil quality index(SQI),which is the minimumof SRINPI and SCINPI,was *** results showed that Sb and As were the prominent metal(loid)pollutants,and significant correlations between SQI and SRI indicated that the poor soil quality was mainly caused by the low level of soil *** primary limiting factors of SRI were Fungi in high andmiddle contaminated areas,and Skermanella in low contaminated area,suggesting that the weak soil resilience was caused by low specific microbial *** regulation and phytoremediation are greatly required to improve the soil quality at antimony smelting sites from the perspectives of pollution control and resilience *** study improves our understanding of ecological effects of antimony smelting sites and provides a theoretical basis for ecological restoration and sustainable development of mining areas.

Revealing the factors that affect the vibrational frequency of Stark probe at interface is a pre-requirement for evaluating the absolute interfacial electric *** using surface-enhanced infrared absorption(SEIRA) spectroscopy,attenuated total reflection (ATR) spectroscopy and molecular dynamics (MD),we reveal the assembled C≡N at gold nanofilm exhibits a reduced Stark tuning rate (STR) referring to the vibrational frequency shift in response to electric field comparing with the bulk which was regulated by the electron transfer between S and *** findings lead to a deeper understanding of the vibrational Stark effect at the interface and provide guidance for improving the interface electric field theory.

Development and application of an intelligent thermal state monitoring system for sintering machine tails based on CNN-LSTM hybrid neural networks

Real-time prediction and precise control of sinter quality are pivotal for energy saving,cost reduction,quality improvement and efficiency enhancement in the ironmaking *** advance,the accuracy and comprehensiveness of sinter quality prediction,an intelligent flare monitoring system for sintering machine tails that combines hybrid neural networks integrating convolutional neural network with long short-term memory(CNN-LSTM)networks was *** system utilized a high-temperature thermal imager for image acquisition at the sintering machine tail and employed a zone-triggered method to accurately capture dynamic feature images under challenging conditions of high-temperature,high dust,and *** feature images were then segmented through a triple-iteration multi-thresholding approach based on the maximum between-class variance method to minimize detail loss during the segmentation *** the advantages of CNN and LSTM networks in capturing temporal and spatial information,a comprehensive model for sinter quality prediction was constructed,with inputs including the proportion of combustion layer,porosity rate,temperature distribution,and image features obtained from the convolutional neural network,and outputs comprising quality indicators such as underburning index,uniformity index,and FeO content of the *** accuracy is notably increased,achieving a 95.8%hit rate within an error margin of±*** the system is applied,the average qualified rate of FeO content increases from 87.24%to 89.99%,representing an improvement of 2.75%.The average monthly solid fuel consumption is reduced from 49.75 to 46.44 kg/t,leading to a 6.65%reduction and underscoring significant energy saving and cost reduction effects.

The glacial lake in the Boqu Basin in Tibetan Plateau has changed significantly in recent years due to global warming,seriously affecting the natural and social environments in downstream *** obtained the change characteristics of glacial lakes by analyzing remote sensing images and evaluated the outburst floods susceptibility of glacial lakes in the Boqu Basin by combining fuzzy mathematics and random forest *** empirical formula for glacial lake hazard evaluation was established based on a fuzzy comprehensive *** confusion matrix were used to assess the evaluation effect of each *** conclusions were as follows:(1)Under the influence of climate warming,glaciers are retreating further from the glacial lakes,and the size of glaciers that can impact these lakes is *** conditions,such as steep slopes around the lakes,have replaced glacier tongues as the primary factors threatening the susceptibility of the glacial lakes;(2)Among the three evaluation methods,the empirical formula offers high calculation accuracy and is the most convenient to use,which provides an accuracy rate of 85.71%in susceptibility evaluation of the Boqu Basin glacial lake and can be applied to other areas in the rapid evaluation of the susceptibility of glacial lakes;(3)The impact analysis of the collapse shows that the collapse of the Galongco fault would cause large economic losses.

Microstructure characteristics and corrosion behavior of metal inert gas welded dissimilar joints of 6005A modified by Sc and 5083 alloys

The corrosion behavior and microstructure characteristics of metal inert gas(MIG)welded dissimilar joints of the 6005A alloy modified with Sc(designated as 6005A+Sc)and the 5083 alloy were investigated using corrosion tests and microscopy *** show that the dissimilar joints exhibit strong stress corrosion cracking(SCC)resistance,maintaining substantial strength during slow strain rate tensile ***,the heat-affected zone(HAZ)and base metal(BM)on the 6005A+Sc side show superior performance in terms of inter-granular corrosion(IGC)and exfoliation corrosion(EXCO)compared to the corresponding zones on the 5083 *** lower corrosion resistance of the 5083-BM and the 5083-HAZ can be attributed to the presence of numerous Al_(2)Mg_(3)phases and micro-scaled Al_(6)(Mn,Fe)intermetallics,mainly distributed along the rolling ***,the enhanced corrosion resistance of the 6005A+Sc-BM and the 6005A+Sc-HAZ can be attributed to the discontinuously distributed grain boundary precipitates(β-Mg_(2)Si),the smaller grain size,and the reduced corrosive current density.

How Does the Belt and Road Initiative Improve China's Product Export Potential:A Global Value Chain Perspective

This study examines the impact of the Belt and Road Initiative(BRI)on China's export potential at the product *** country–product-level data from the Centre d'Etudes Prospectives d'Informations Internationales-Base pour l'Analyse du Commerce International(CEPII-BACI),which includes 5,049 product types across 196 economies from 2007 to 2022,it explores the trade effects of the BRI and its mechanisms from the perspective of global value *** results indicate that the BRI has increased China's product export potential significantly to participating *** BRI has had the greatest impact on capital goods and labor-and capital-intensive *** effect has been most pronounced in China's exports to Southeast Asia,South Asia,and *** mechanism analysis reveals that the BRI has improved the division of labor in the global value chains for participating countries along the BRI,strengthened China's position in their output supply chains,and stimulated the growth of China's exports.

Advances in regional-scale crop growth and associated process modeling

In the context of global change, ensuring national food security and achieving sustainable development of agricultural production systems have become major challenges worldwide. To address these issues, regional-scale crop growth and associated process(CROP-AP) models, with their robust simulation and predictive capabilities, have emerged as important tools for studying a wide range of issues relating to agricultural production at river basin, national, and even global scales. Here, we provide a systematic review of the advances of regional-scale CROP-AP models. First, regional-scale CROP-AP models are categorized based on model characteristics: statistical models, crop growth models, hydrology-crop coupling models, and ecosystem models. The origin, development, principle, structure, and application of each model type are introduced. Then, the main functions of regional-scale CROP-AP models are critically reviewed from five aspects: crop yield prediction, crop water consumption, agricultural non-point source pollution, greenhouse gas emissions, and climate change impact and ***, the future development trends and research priorities of regional-scale CROP-AP models are explored from six key perspectives: model validation and calibration, the ability to simulate the coupling of crop physiology and human activities,enhancing model scalability, multi-model ensembles, data and code sharing, and the integration of artificial intelligence. This review aims to provide comprehensive references and insights for the further development and application of large-scale, high-precision CROP-AP models.

ATAD3A is a mitochondrial membrane protein belonging to the ATPase family that contains the AAA+*** is widely involved in mitochondrial metabolism,protein transport,cell growth,development and other important life *** has previously been reported that the deletion of ATAD3A causes growth and development defects in humans,mice and Caenorhabditis *** delve into the mechanism underlying ATAD3A defects and their impact on development,we constructed a Bombyx mori ATAD3A(BmATAD3A)defect model in silkworm *** aim to offer a reference for understanding ATAD3A genetic defects and elucidating the molecular regulatory *** results showed that knockout of the BmATAD3A gene significantly affected the weight,survival rate,ATPase production and mitochondrial metabolism of individuals after 24 h of *** metabolomics and transcriptomics analysis further demonstrated that BmATAD3A knockout inhibits amino acid biosynthesis through the regulation of mitochondrial ribosomal protein ***,our findings indicate that BmATAD3A knockout impeded mitochondrial activity and ATPase synthesis and suppressed the mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation pathway through *** mitochondrial ribosomal protein L11(BmmRpL11).These results provide novel insights into the molecular mechanisms involved in the inhibition of development caused by ATAD3A deficiency,offering a potential direction for targeted therapy in diseases associated with abnormal ATAD3A expression.

Experimental study on tensile deformation behaviors under room and elevated temperatures induced by microstructure inhomogeneity of ZK60 Mg with a longitudinal weld

The tensile tests of the extruded ZK60 Mg containing a longitudinal weld seam were carried out at room and elevated temperatures, and the effects of induced microstructure inhomogeneity on tensile deformation behavior was clarified. The results show that the deformation mode, dynamic recrystallization(DRX), texture evolution and mechanical properties are strongly affected by the longitudinal weld seam,temperature, and loading direction. The room temperature(RT) deformation of welding zone is controlled by the dislocation slips with the association of some twins, while twinning plays significant roles in the accommodation of c-axis strain of the coarse grains on matrix *** deformation at RT stretched along extrusion direction(ED) and transverse direction(TD) are controlled by basal slip/twinning and basal slip/prismatic slip/twinning, respectively. During high temperature tension, the dislocation cross slip of pyramidal slip is activated, and grain boundary sliding occurred in welding zone, leading to the superplastic behavior. With the increase of tensile temperature, the predominant DRX mode is transformed from continuous DRX to discontinuous DRX. Moreover, the basal poles of the grains spread from TD towards ED with the decrease of maximum pole intensity when stretched along ED, while non-basal textures are transformed to (10-10) fiber texture when stretched along TD. The slip-dominated flow is seen during RT tension along ED, while twinning becomes predominant during RT tension along TD. The fine grain structure causes the superior RT tensile properties along ED of welding zone with ultimate tensile strength of 315 MPa and elongation to failure of 13.8%. With the increase of tensile temperature, the slipping-dominated deformation is transformed into twinning-dominated, causing the decrease of strength and increase of elongation.
