We consider decay properties regarding decay parameter and invariant measures of Markovian bulk-arrival and bulk-service queues with state-independent control. The exact value of the decay parameter, denoted by λz, is firstly revealed. A criterion regarding ）λz-recurrence and λz-positive is obtained. The corresponding λz-subinvariant/invariant measures and λz-subinvariant/invariant vectors are then presented.

Molecular simulation was performed to study the interaction between CaCO3 crystal and several oligomer inhibitors, by using the equilibrium morphology method to calculate the growth morphology of CaCO3 without inhibitors. The calculated morphology agreed well with SEM photographs. Then, a double-layer model was built to investigate the interaction between calcite crystal and oligomer inhibitors containing maleic anhydride （MA） and acrylic acid （AA）. Interaction energy per gram of an oligomer inhibitor was introduced as a scale of inhibition efficiency of different monomers. The results indicated that, for calcite scale inhibition, acrylamide （AM） and vinyl phosphonic acid （VPA） were the most efficient monomers, while allylsulfonic acid （AS） was the poorest. Increasing proportion of AM in dimer inhibitor molecule would improve the inhibition efficiency of MA, though, for a trimer, such as MA-AA-AM, certain sequence of monomers in the inhibitor molecule was necessary besides higher proportion of AM.

The performance of medical image classification has been enhanced by deep convolutional neural networks(CNNs),which are typically trained with cross-entropy(CE)***,when the label presents an intrinsic ordinal property in nature,e.g.,the development from benign to malignant tumor,CE loss cannot take into account such ordinal information to allow for better *** improve model generalization with ordinal information,we propose a novel meta ordinal regression forest(MORF)method for medical image classification with ordinal labels,which learns the ordinal relationship through the combination of convolutional neural network and differential forest in a meta-learning *** merits of the proposed MORF come from the following two components:A tree-wise weighting net(TWW-Net)and a grouped feature selection(GFS)***,the TWW-Net assigns each tree in the forest with a specific weight that is mapped from the classification loss of the corresponding ***,all the trees possess varying weights,which is helpful for alleviating the tree-wise prediction ***,the GFS module enables a dynamic forest rather than a fixed one that was previously used,allowing for random feature *** training,we alternatively optimize the parameters of the CNN backbone and TWW-Net in the meta-learning framework through calculating the Hessian *** results on two medical image classification datasets with ordinal labels,i.e.,LIDC-IDRI and Breast Ultrasound datasets,demonstrate the superior performances of our MORF method over existing state-of-the-art methods.

Computer vision researchers prefer to estimate age from face images because facial features provide useful information. However, estimating age from face images becomes challenging when people are distant from the camera or occluded. A person’s gait is a unique biometric feature that can be perceived efficiently even at a distance. Thus, gait can be used to predict age when face images are not ***, existing gait-based classification or regression methods ignore the ordinal relationship of different ages, which is an important clue for age estimation. This paper proposes an ordinal distribution regression with a global and local convolutional neural network for gait-based age estimation. Specifically, we decompose gait-based age regression into a series of binary classifications to incorporate the ordinal age ***, an ordinal distribution loss is proposed to consider the inner relationships among these classifications by penalizing the distribution discrepancy between the estimated value and the ground truth. In addition,our neural network comprises a global and three local sub-networks, and thus, is capable of learning the global structure and local details from the head, body, and feet. Experimental results indicate that the proposed approach outperforms state-of-the-art gait-based age estimation methods on the OULP-Age dataset.

A pyramid sheet has been used in experiments and three-dimensional finite element simulation to study the edge cracks and effects of width on AZ31 sheet under rolling. Results show that the edge cracks of Mg sheet comply with the Normalized Crockroft ＆ Latham theory. It can be predicted by D=-0.124＋0.09X - 0.008X2, if D ;〉 0, the edge cracks occur. The sheet shearing deformation at the edge brings about cracks. The strain rate changes periodically with different X. With initial width increases, the recrystallized grain size decreases. The finite element model has been validated by the experiment results.

The isolated curved girder bridge's vibration characteristics play a major part in the seismic responses of structures and anti-seismic properties.A clear analytic relationship between design parameters and the system's vibration characteristics could be established by its simplified dynamic analysis model,making it convenient for providing a reference to the optimization of design and safety analysis.A double-mass six-degree-of-freedom model for curved girder bridges with isolation bearings installed at the top of the bridge piers is built and a simplified analysis method for the vibration characteristics of the system is *** with the Matlab programming,the influences of radius of curvature,central angle,bridge deck width and damping ratio of the isolation layer and circular frequency of the isolation layer of isolated curved girder bridges on the pseudo-undamped natural circular frequency(called pseudo-frequency for short)and system damping ratio are systematically analyzed,and the sensitivity of vibration characteristics of isolated curved girder bridges is *** results show that the vibration characteristics of isolated curved girder bridges can be reflected well with this simplified model and calculation *** pseudo-frequency of curved girder and system damping ratios increases with the increase of the isolation *** third-order vibration characteristic is more sensitive to the parameters of a curved girder,and the first-order vibration characteristic is sensitive to both central angle and radius of curvature to some extent while insensitive to the width of the bridge ***,the second-order vibration characteristic is not sensitive to the parameters of a curved girder.

Lung nodule classification based on low-dose computed tomography(LDCT)images has attracted major attention thanks to the reduced radiation dose and its potential for early diagnosis of lung cancer from LDCT-based lung cancer ***,LDCT images suffer from severe noise,largely influencing the performance of lung nodule *** methods combining denoising and classification tasks typically require the corresponding normal-dose CT(NDCT)images as the supervision for the denoising task,which is impractical in the context of clinical diagnosis using *** jointly train these two tasks in a unified framework without the NDCT images,this paper introduces a novel self-supervised method,termed strided Noise2Neighbors or SN2N,for blind medical image denoising and lung nodule classification,where the supervision is generated from noisy input *** specifically,the proposed SN2N can construct the supervision infor-mation from its neighbors for LDCT denoising,which does not need NDCT images *** proposed SN2N method enables joint training of LDCT denoising and lung nodule classification tasks by using self-supervised loss for denoising and cross-entropy loss for *** experimental results on the Mayo LDCT dataset demonstrate that our SN2N achieves competitive performance compared with the supervised learning methods that have paired NDCT images as ***,our results on the LIDC-IDRI dataset show that the joint training of LDCT denoising and lung nodule classification significantly improves the performance of LDCT-based lung nodule classification.
