End-to-End Paired Ambisonic-Binaural Audio Rendering

Binaural rendering is of great interest to virtual reality and immersive media. Although humans can naturally use their two ears to perceive the spatial information contained in sounds, it is a challenging task for machines to achieve binaural rendering since the description of a sound field often requires multiple channels and even the metadata of the sound sources. In addition, the perceived sound varies from person to person even in the same sound field. Previous methods generally rely on individual-dependent head-related transferred function(HRTF)datasets and optimization algorithms that act on HRTFs. In practical applications, there are two major drawbacks to existing methods. The first is a high personalization cost, as traditional methods achieve personalized needs by measuring HRTFs. The second is insufficient accuracy because the optimization goal of traditional methods is to retain another part of information that is more important in perception at the cost of discarding a part of the information. Therefore, it is desirable to develop novel techniques to achieve personalization and accuracy at a low cost. To this end, we focus on the binaural rendering of ambisonic and propose 1) channel-shared encoder and channel-compared attention integrated into neural networks and 2) a loss function quantifying interaural level differences to deal with spatial information. To verify the proposed method, we collect and release the first paired ambisonic-binaural dataset and introduce three metrics to evaluate the content information and spatial information accuracy of the end-to-end methods. Extensive experimental results on the collected dataset demonstrate the superior performance of the proposed method and the shortcomings of previous methods.

The Jiangchuan Biota from the Jiucheng Member(Mb.)of the Dengying Formation(Fm.),discovered in Jiangchuan,eastern Yunnan,China,is marked by copious macrofossils at the apex of the Ediacaran strata.This fauna features benthic algae with varied holdfasts and other fossils of indeterminate taxonomic affinity and is compositionally unique compared to the Shibantan and Gaojiashan biotas of the Dengying Fm.and the Miaohe and Wenghui biotas of the Doushantuo Fm.,elsewhere in China.One novel benthic saccular macroalgal fossil,named here Houjiashania yuxiensis gen.and sp.nov.,from the Jiangchuan Biota is based on fossils that are sausage-shaped,elongate,tubular,ranging from 0.3 to 4 cm in length,and up to 0.8 cm in diameter.One terminus is blunt and rounded to an obtuse angle,the other is bent with a spread-out surface resembling a holdfast,suggesting a three-dimensional thallus.Thin,stipe-shaped outgrowths,likely vestiges of sessile saccular life forms,are prevalent in macroalgal fossils of analogous size and shape,as well as present brown algae Scytosiphonaceae,such as Colpomenia and Dactylosiphon.The new findings augment the diversity of benthic algae,such as those known from the Early Neoproterozoic Longfengshan Biota in North China.The benthic algal macrofossils in the Jiucheng Mb.add to knowledge of Late Ediacaran metaphyte diversification and offer more clues about the evolutionary positioning of primitive macroalgae.The co-occurrence of numerous planktonic and benthic multicellular algae and planktonic microbes might have facilitated ecologically the more extensive later Cambrian explosion evidenced by the Chengjiang Biota in Yunnan.

In-situ AFM and quasi-in-situ studies for localized corrosion in Mg-9Al-1Fe-(Gd) alloys under 3.5 wt.% NaCl environment

Revealing the localized corrosion process of Mg alloy is considered as one of the most significant ways for improving its corrosion resistance.The reliable monitor should be high distinguishability and real-time in liquid environment.Herein,Mg-9Al-1Fe and Mg-9Al-1Fe-1Gd alloys were designed to highlight the impact of intermetallic on the corrosion behaviour.In-situ AFM with a special electrolyte circulation system and quasi-in-situ SEM observation were used to monitor the corrosion process of the designed alloys.SEM-EDS and TEM-SAED were applied to identify the intermetallic in the designed alloys,and their volta potentials were measured by SKPFM.According to the real-time and real-space in-situ AFM monitor,the corrosion process consisted of dissolution of anodicα-Mg phase,accumulation of corrosion products around cathodic phase and shedding of some fine cathodic phase.Then,the localized corrosion process of Mg alloy was revealed combined with the results of the monitor of corrosion process and Volta potential difference.

Changes in soil microbial communities induced by warming and N deposition accelerate the CO 2 emissions of coarse woody debris

Warming and nitrogen(N)deposition are two important drivers of global climate changes.Coarse woody debris(CWD)contains a large proportion of the carbon(C)in the total global C pool.The composition of soil microbial communities and environmental changes(i.e.,N deposition and warming)are the key drivers of CWD decomposition,but the interactive impact between N deposition and warming on the composition of soil microbial communities and CWD decomposition is still unclear.In a laboratory experiment,we study and simulate respiration during decomposition of the CWD(C 98)of Cryptomeria japonica(CR)and Platycarya strobilacea(PL)in response to warming and N deposition over 98 days.Resuts show that either warming or N addition signifi cantly accelerated the C 98 of the two tree species by altering the soil microbial community(bacterial:fungi and G+:G–).The combined treatment(warming+N)resulted in a decomposition eff ect equal to the sum of the individual eff ects.In addition,the species composition of bacteria and fungi was obviously aff ected by warming.However,N deposition had a remarkable infl uence on G+:G–.Our results indicated that N deposition and warming will observably alter the composition and growth of the microbial community and thus work synergistically to accelerate CWD decomposition in forest ecosystems.We also present evidence that N deposition and warming infl uenced the composition and balance of soil microbial communities and biogeochemical cycling of forest ecosystems.

Ginger polysaccharide UGP1 suppressed human colon cancer growth via p53,Bax/Bcl-2,caspase-3 pathways and immunomodulation

In previous study,we got a purified ginger polysaccharide UGP1 and verified its significant antitumor activities on colon cancer HCT116 cells.In this article,we aimed to illustrate the underlying mechanism of UGP1 exerted antitumor activities on colon cancer by using in vitro cell models and in vivo animal models.The results demonstrated that UGP1 could induce S-phase cell cycle arrest,up-regulate the expression of Bax and p53,down-regulate the expression of Bcl-2,and activate the downstream protein caspase-9 and caspase-3,which was related to intrinsic apoptosis pathway on HCT116 cells.Moreover,UGP1 significantly stimulated RAW264.7 cell proliferation and secretion activity.Similarly,UGP1 inhibited tumor proliferation on tumor-bearing mice,increased the expression of p53 and the ratio of Bax/Bcl-2,enhanced the secretion of pro-inflammatory cytokines TNF-α,IL-2,IL-6 and decreased the secretion of pro-tumor cytokines TGF-βand b FGF in serum.In conclusion,it indicated that the UGP 1 could sup press human colon cancer growth by inducing apoptosis via the regulation of p53,caspase-3,and Bax/Bcl-2 ratio-dependent pathway and regulating immune system activity.Thi s investigation provided basic theoretical mechanism of ginger polysaccharideexerted antitumor activities,and contributed to develop a possible functional food or adjuvant agent for prevention or treatment of colon cancer.

JAG1 enhances angiogenesis in triple-negative breast cancer through promoting the secretion of exosomal lncRNA MALAT1

Despite significant improvements in five-year survival rates due to early diagnosis and combination therapy, triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) treatment remains a major challenge. Finding new and effective targets for diagnosis and drug therapy is urgent for TNBC patients. Jagged-1 (JAG1), one of the canonical ligands of the Notch signaling pathway, is involved in vascular budding and is a poor prognostic factor of TNBC. In this study, combined with quantitative real-time PCR, database analysis, animal experiments, and other means, JAG1 was confirmed to be related to the poor prognosis of TNBC patients. JAG1 was highly expressed in MDA-MB-231 Bone (231B) cells, with stronger invasion and metastasis ability than MDA-MB-231 (231) cells. Treatment of human vascular endothelial cells (HUVEC) with TNBC conditioned medium showed that TNBC JAG1 promoted the angiogenesis of HUVEC. Next, we detected the exosomes extracted from TNBC conditioned medium and found that JAG1 promoted the exosome secretion from 231 cells via ALIX-RAB11A/RAB35. In addition, we also found that the exosomes from JAG1 overexpressed TNBC cells contained more long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) MALAT1 , and MALAT1 promoted angiogenesis of HUVEC by targeting miR-140-5p . Finally, the angiogenesis-promoting effect of JAG1 in TNBC was further investigated by matrix gel assay. In conclusion, we reveal that JAG1 has a pro-invasion effect on TNBC and is involved in microenvironment angiogenesis by promoting exosome secretion and the MALAT1-miR-140-5p-JAG1/VEGFA pathway.

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the effectiveness and safety of Jiawei Xiaoyao pill(加味逍遥丸,JXP)in the treatment of symptoms associated with premenstrual syndrome(PMS).METHODS:A total of 144 regularly menstruating women with PMS were recruited at 8 sites in China from August 2017 to December 2018,and randomized to receive either a JXP or a matching placebo(12 g/d,6 g twice a day)for 3 menstrual cycles.The primary indicator was the reduced Daily Record of Severity of Problems(DRSP)scores in the luteal phase after 3 months of treatment.The safety outcomes included clinical adverse events(AEs),adverse reactions(ARs),changes in vital signs,and laboratory tests.RESULTS:JXP surpassed the placebo in reducing DRSP scores(psychological/somatic dysfunction)in the luteal phase over 3 menstrual cycles of treatment(PFAS=0.002,PPPS=0.001).Additionally,there were no significant differences in the incidence of AEs,severe AEs,withdrawal due to AEs and ARs between the two groups(all P>0.05),and no clinically significant adverse medical events related to the test drug observed.CONCLUSIONS:JXP was superior to the placebo in relieving the symptoms associated with PMS,which signified that JXP may be effective,safe,and welltolerated as an alternative therapy.

科研合作中明星作者对学术论文的影响机理研究——基于合著网络的视角

【目的/意义】在科技全球化的背景下,科研合作已被广泛认为是最有效的创新产出方式。然而,在考虑合作对象的科研水平差异性时,“明星作者”对合著论文的具体影响还有待深入探讨。【方法/过程】本研究以2017—2021年“图书情报”领域期刊的合著论文为对象构建合著网络,并运用社会网络分析合著网络地位和H指数评价学术影响力来综合确定明星作者。结合知识重组理论,将合著论文划分为影响力和创新力两个维度,研究明星作者对这两个产出维度的具体影响。【结果/结论】基于对合著论文的维度分析,发现明星作者对合著论文的影响力具有显著正向影响,对创新力具有显著负向影响,但这种消极作用不大。因此对明星作者的定位也是至关重要的,要充分发挥其作用,同时也要考虑整个团队的创新需求。【创新/局限】运用社会网络分析来综合确定明星作者,基于影响力和创新力两个维度来判断明星作者对学术论文的影响,对于明星作者能够产生更深入的了解。

目的:探讨1例罕见的ABCC6基因变异所致婴儿泛发性动脉钙化(GACI)患儿的临床表现与遗传学病因。方法:选取2022年8月26日就诊于首都医科大学附属北京儿童医院保定医院的1例44 d女性患儿作为研究对象。收集患儿的临床资料,通过核心家系全外显子组测序(Trio-WES)、全基因组拷贝数变异测序(CNV-seq)以及Minigene剪接实验对变异进行致病性分析。结果:患儿主要表现为发热、炎症指标高、抗感染治疗无效,超声显示全身大、中动脉广泛钙化、管壁增厚,考虑为GACI以及相关的动脉炎,经糖皮质激素、生物制剂治疗后发热缓解。Trio-WES发现患儿携带ABCC6基因复合杂合变异c.4404-1G>A与c.4041+5G>T,后者既往未见报道。根据美国医学遗传学与基因组学学会(ACMG)相关指南,两个变异被分别判定为可能致病性(PVS1+PM2_Supporting)与临床意义不明(PM2_Supporting+PM3+PP3)。CNV-seq检测未见异常。Minigene剪接实验进一步验证两个变异均可影响剪接。结论:对于不明原因及常规治疗无效的发热,需要及时完善基因检测,避免GACI的漏诊。
