Morphodynamic response of an embayed beach to different typhoon events with varying intensities

Beach erosion has occurred globally in recent decades due to frequent and severe *** beach,located in Zhujiajian Island,Zhejiang Province,China,is a typical embayed sandy *** study focused on the morphodynamic response of Dongsha beach to typhoon events,based on beach topographies and surficial sediment characteristics acquired before and after four typhoon events with varying *** four typhoons had different effects on the topography and sediment characteristics of Dongsha *** Ampil and Danas caused the largest(-51.72 m3/m)and the smallest erosion(-8.01 m3/m),*** alongshore patterns of beach profile volumetric changes were found after the four typhoon events,with more erosion in the southern and central parts of the beach and few changes in the northern *** size coarsening and poor sorting were the main sediment patterns on the beach influenced by different *** that occurred in the same year after another typhoon enhanced the effect of the previous typhoon on sediment coarsening and sorting variability,but this cumulative effect was not found between typhoons that occurred during different years.A comparison of the collected data revealed that the topographic state of the beach before the typhoon,typhoon characteristics,and tidal conditions were possible reasons for the difference in the responses of Dongsha beach to typhoon *** severe beach erosion was caused by typhoons with higher intensity levels and longer durations,and high tide levels during typhoons can determine the upper limit of the beach profile erosion *** together,these results can be used to improve beach management for storm prevention.

Chiral chemicals have attracted significant interest in the pharmaceutical industry,yet the separation methods to get pure enantiomers from racemic mixture are still *** date,the separation of enantiomers still mainly depends on chromatography using high-cost chiral stationary ***,wood channels were used as the handheld integrated device,and enantiomer separation was simultaneously detected using an electrochemical *** this method,a chiral UIO-66(L-UIO-66)modified enantiomer separation zone and carbonized wood based online detection zone are integrated along a single wood *** on the in situ separation results from the chronoamperometry data,the wood device shows excellent separation ability for a wide range of electrochemically active enantiomers,including 3,4-dihydroxyphenylalanine,amino acids,ascorbic acid,carnitine,and penicillamine with high chirality *** unbiased molecular dynamic simulations indicate that the excellent chiral recognition and separation are attributed to the different barriers from the bound states to the dissociated state of the enantiomers in the homochiral microenvironment of the *** integrated enantiomer separation-electrochemical detection device provides a novel,easy,and low-cost platform for the separation of pure enantiomer from racemic mixture.

Ubiquitously transcribed tetratricopeptide repeat on chromosome X(UTX),also known as lysine(K)-specific demethylase 6A(KDM6A),functions as a tumor suppressor gene or oncogene depending on the tumor type and ***,its tumor-suppressive mechanisms remain largely ***,we investigated the clinical significance and biological effects of UTX expression in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma(PDA)and determined the potential mechanisms of its *** expression and its association with clinicopathologic characteristics of PDA patients were analyzed using *** mRNA and protein expression and their regulation in PDA cell lines were measured using quantitative polymerase chain reaction and Western blot *** biological functions of UTX in PDA cell growth,migration,and invasion were determined using gain-and loss-of-function assays with both in vitro and in vivo animal *** expression was reduced in human PDA cell lines and *** UTX expression was associated with poor differentiation and prognosis in *** UTX expression inhibited PDA proliferation,migration,and invasion in vitro and PDA growth and metastasis in vivo,whereas knockdown of UTX expression did the ***,UTX expression was trans-activated by GATA6 ***6-mediated PDA progression could be blocked,at least partially,by silencing UTX *** conclusion,loss of GATA6-mediated UTX expression was evident in human PDA and restored UTX expression suppressed PDA growth and ***,UTX is a tumor suppressor in PDA and may serve as a prognostic biomarker and therapeutic target.

Reducing the negative effects of flywheel disturbance on space camera image quality using the vibration isolation method

Although the performance of space cameras has largely improved, the micro vibration from flywheel disturbances still significantly affects the image quality of these cameras. This study adopted a passive isolation method to reduce the negative effect of flywheel disturbance on image quality. A metal-rubber shock absorber was designed and installed in a real satellite. A finite element model of an entire satellite was constructed, and a transient analysis was conducted afterward. The change in the modulate transfer function was detected using ray tracing and optical transfer function formulas. Experiments based on real products were performed to validate the influence of the metal-rubber shock absorber. The experimental results confirmed the simulation results by showing that the negative effects of flywheel dis- turbance on the image quality of space cameras can be diminished significantly using the vibration isolation method.

Hypoxia-stressed cardiomyocytes promote early cardiac differentiation of cardiac stem cells through HIF-1α/Jagged1/Notch1 signaling

Hypoxia is beneficial for the differentiation of stem cells transplanted for myocardial injury,but mechanisms underlying this benefit remain unsolved. Here, we report the impact of hypoxia-induced Jagged1 expression in cardiomyocytes(CMs) for driving the differentiation of cardiac stem cells(CSCs).Forced hypoxia-inducible factor 1α(HIF-1α) expression and physical hypoxia(5% O_2) treatment could induce Jagged1 expression in neonatal rat CMs. Pharmacological inhibition of HIF-1α by YC-1 attenuated hypoxia-promoted Jagged1 expression in CMs. An ERK inhibitor(PD98059), but not inhibitors of JNK(SP600125), Notch(DAPT), NF-κB(PTDC), JAK(AG490), or STAT3(Stattic) suppressed hypoxiainduced Jagged1 protein expression in CMs. c-Kit^+ CSCs isolated from neonatal rat hearts using a magnetic-activated cell sorting method expressed GATA4, SM22α or vWF, but not Nkx2.5 and ***, 87.3% of freshly isolated CSCs displayed Notch1 receptor expression. Direct co-culture of CMs with BrdU-labeled CSCs enhanced CSCs differentiation, as evidenced by an increased number of BrdU^+/Nkx2.5^+ cells, while intermittent hypoxia for 21 days promoted co-culture-triggered differentiation of CSCs into CM-like cells. Notably, YC-1 and DAPT attenuated hypoxia-induced *** results suggest that hypoxia induces Jagged1 expression in CMs primarily through ERK signaling,and facilitates early cardiac lineage differentiation of CSCs in CM/CSC co-cultures via HIF-1α/Jagged1/Notch signaling.

In order to analyze the influence factors of vehicle interior gear whining order noise from the mechanism,a time-domain hybrid analysis model of gear whining is built in this *** acceleration of the mount's active side and near-field noise result is acquired mainly based on the time-domain dynamic multibody *** the result data is used as input and loaded into the vehicle timedomain transmission path mathematical model,so as to calculate the vehicle interior gear whining order noise through virtual *** with the real vehicle test results,the frequency error of the vehicle interior gear whining order noise calculated by this method does not exceed 6%,and the amplitude error does not exceeded 12%.On this basis,the method is applied to analyze the sensitivity of the factors affecting the gear whining on a certain vehicle *** is found that the tooth shape modification and high-frequency vibration isolation of the mount *** the main causes of the vehicle interior gear *** the verification of the real vehicle test,the good accuracy of this modeling method is furtherly proved,which provides a powerful technical reference for the industry to solve this problem.
