The behavior of coalbed methane(CBM)diffusion considerably influences gas productivity.Based on the multi-porous diffusion model and on-site CBM desorption data of coal cores,the behavior of CBM diffusion and its implications on the gas productivity of No.3 coal seam in the southern Qinshui Basin(SQB)were elaborately analyzed.Results indicate that CBM diffusion of No.3 coal seam demonstrates noticeable three-stage characteristics,including the fast diffusion,transitional diffusion,and slow diffusion stages.During the gas diffusion process,the gas content and/or the degree of developed pores and fractures/cleats in coal seams can affect the desorption of CBM and the amount of diffused CBM by influencing the changes in gas pressure in pores,thus controlling the behavior of gas diffusion in different stages.Because gas content and the developed degree of pores and fractures/cleats are closely associated with the deformation degree of the coal seams,variably deformed coal seams exhibit unique characteristics of gas diffusion.The low-deformation degree of the coal seams have a relatively uniform distribution of gas production over the history of a well.By contrast,the moderate-deformation degree of the coal seams have a relatively high rate and amount of gas diffusion in the fast and transitional diffusion stages,producing most of the gas in the early-to-intermediate stages of the wells.Finally,the high-deformation degree of the coal seams has a high rate and amount in the fast diffusion stage,indicating that most of the production stage occurs during the early stage of the gas production history of a well.In summary,the behavior of gas diffusion can be used for predicting gas production potential.

Aging is a physiological process that leads to degeneration and functional decline of the brain. This is accompanied by intracellular peroxidation and neuronal apoptosis. Natural antioxidants possess a remarkable effect on attenuating the oxidative stress cascade and apoptosis of neurons; however， the challenge of using natural antioxidants for neuroprotection is fabricating a delivery system to overcome the blood-brain barrier (BBB) transport. Herein， we successfully created a stable delivery platform built on rigid ferritin nanocage loading natural lycopene (LYC) molecules， crossing the BBB in quantity and being taken up in neurons. This nanoparticle worked on D-galactose-induced senescence via alleviating neuronal hyperoxidation injury and weakening neuronal apoptosis in PC12 and BV2 cells. More importantly， this natural delivery system possesses inherent biocompatibility and potential application in improving the bioavailability of bioactive edible compounds with low water solubility. This study demonstrated the effectiveness of natural antioxidant nanomedicines in maintaining the defenses of intracerebral peroxidation and improve degenerating neurons， providing the potential to combat further imbalances of neuronal microenvironment in aging neuropathy.

Andrias davidianus(Chinese giant salamander,CGS)is the largest and oldest extant amphibian species in the world and is a source of prospective functional food in China.However,the progress of functional peptides mining was slow due to lack of reference genome and protein sequence data.In this study,we illustrated full-length transcriptome sequencing to interpret the proteome of CGS meat and obtain 10703 coding DNA sequences.By functional annotation and amino acid composition analysis,we have discovered various genes related to signal transduction,and 16 genes related to longevity.We have also found vast variety of functional peptides through protein coding sequence(CDS)analysis by comparing the data obtained with the functional peptide database.Val-Pro-Ile predicted by the CDS analysis was released from the CGS meat through enzymatic hydrolysis,suggesting that our approach is reliable.This study suggested that transcriptomic analysis can be used as a reference to guide polypeptide mining in CGS meat,thereby providing a powerful mining strategy for the bioresources with unknown genomic and proteomic sequences.

The Indian meal moth,Plodia interpunctella(Lepidoptera:Pyralidae),a globally distributed storage pest,relies on odors that are emitted from stored foods to select a suitable substrate for oviposition.However,the molecular mechanism underlying the chemical communication between P.interpunctella and its host remains elusive.In this study,130 chemosensory genes were identified from the transcriptomes of 7 P.interpunctella tissues,and the quantitative expression levels of all 56 P.interpunctella odorant receptor genes(PintORs)were validated using real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction.The functional characteristics of 5 PintORs with female antennae-biased expression were investigated using 2-electrode voltage clamp recordings in Xenopus laevis oocytes.PintOR23 was found to be specifically tuned to acetophenone.Acetophenone could elicit a significant electrophysiological response and only attracted mated females when compared with males and virgin females.In addition,molecular docking predicted that the hydrogen bonding sites,TRP-335 and ALA-167,might play key roles in the binding of PintOR23 to acetophenone.Our study provides valuable insights into the olfactory mechanism of oviposition substrate detection and localization in P.interpunctella and points toward the possibility of developing eco-friendly odorant agents to control pests of stored products.

The pollution of antibiotics in aquatic environments has received extensive attention.Yet,research on antibiotic contamination in river-lake systems,a significant form of modern aquatic environments,still needs to be explored.This study focuses on the Chaohu Basin(China)investigating the occurrence characteristics,influencing factors,and risk assessments of antibiotics in the river-lake system.The total antibiotic concentrations in the water phase and sediment phase were 3.14–1887.49 ng/L and 0.92–1553.75 ng/g,respectively.Clindamycin was the predominant antibiotic in the water phase,whereas tetracycline prevailed in the sediment phase.Notable differences in concentration and structural composition of antibiotics between the tributaries(river system)and Chaohu Lake were observed,indicating the involvement of various geochemical processes in the attenuation of antibiotics during transport to the receiving lake.Spatial analysis suggested that the western river is the primary source of antibiotics in Chaohu Lake.Controlling nutrient influx in heavily polluted areas is crucial to addressing the escalating issue of antibiotic pollution in the river-lake system.The widespread occurrence of clindamycin in the waters is likely due to wastewater treatment plant discharges,and high-intensity human activities continue to exacerbate antibiotic contamination.Risk assessment indicated that sulfamethoxazole,tetracycline,lincomycin,and clindamycin ranked in the top four with the highest risks to the most sensitive aquatic organisms.Nonetheless,the antibiotics presented no risk to consumer health.This study provides valuable insights for controlling antibiotic pollution in riverlake systems.

Petroleum Distribution Characteristics of the Americas and the Exploration Prospect Analysis

The world＇s present demand for oil and gas is still in a rapid growth period, and traditional oil and gas resources account for more than 60% of the global oil and gas supply. The Americas is the world＇s second largest production and consumption center of liquid fuel, and is also the world＇s largest natural gas producer. In 2016, the Americas had 85.3 billion tons of proven oil reserves and 18.7 trillion m3 of proven natural gas reserves, which account for 35.4% and 10.0% of world＇s total reserves, respectively. It produced 1267.1 Mt of oil and 1125.4 billion m3 of natural gas, which account for 28.9% and 31.7% of the world＇s total production, respectively. The crude oil and natural gas reserves are mainly distributed in the U.S., Canada and Venezuela. The U.S. is the earliest and most successful country in shale gas exploration and development, and its shale gas is concentrated in the southern, central and eastern U.S., including the Marcellcus shale, Barnett shale, EagleFord shale, Bakken shale, Fayettevis shale, Haynsvill shale, Woodford shale and Monterey/Santos shale. The potential oil and gas resources in the Americas are mainly concentrated in the anticline and stratigraphic traps in the Middle- Upper Jurassic slope deposition of the North Slope Basin, the Paleozoic Madsion group dolomite and limestone in the Williston Basin, dominant stratigraphic traps and few structural traps in the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin, the Eocene structural-stratigraphic hydrocarbon combination, structural- unconformity traps and structural hydrocarbon combination, and the Upper Miocene stratigraphic- structural hydrocarbon combination in the Maracaibo Basin of Venezuela, the stratigraphic-structural traps and fault horst, tilting faulted blocks and anticlines related to subsalt structure and basement activity in the Campos Basin, the subsalt central low-uplift belt and supra-salt central low-uplift belt in the Santos Basin of Brazil, and the structural-stratigraphic traps in the Neuquen Basin of Argentina. The Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road Initiative, abbreviated as the Belt and Road Initiative, is a primary development strategy of China＇s future international cooperation. Especially, the energy resource cooperation, including oil and gas resources cooperation, is an important part of this initiative. The Belt and Road has undergone complicated geological evolution, and contains abundant mineral resources such as oil, gas, coal, uranium, iron, copper, gold and manganese ore resources. Among these, Africa holds 7.8% of the world＇s total proven oil reserves. The oil and gas resources in Africa are relatively concentrated, with an overall low exploration degree and small consumption demand. Nigeria and Libya contain the most abundant oil resources in Africa, accounting for 2.2% and 2.9% of the world＇s total reserves, respectively. Nigeria and Algeria hold the richest natural gas resources in Africa, occupying 2.8% and 2.4% of the world＇s total reserves, respectively. Africa＇s oil and gas resources are mainly concentrated in Egypt, Sultan and Western Sahara regions in the northern Africa, and the Gulf of Guinea, Niger River and Congo River area in the western Africa. The Russia--Central Asia area holds rich petroleum resources in Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. The potential oil and gas areas include the West Siberia Basin, East Siberia Basin and sea continental shelf in Russia, the northern and central Caspian Basin in Kazakhstan, the right bank of the Amu-Darya Basin, the East Karakum uplift and the South Caspian Basin in Turkmenistan, and the Amu-Daria Basin, Fergana Basin, Afghan-Tajik Basin and North Ustyurt Basin in Uzbekistan. The Middle East oil and gas resources are mainly distributed in the Zagros foreland basin and Arabian continental margin basin, and the main oil-producing countries include Saudi Arabia, Iran and Iraq.
