layered-type transition metal(Tm)oxides are considered as one of the most promising cathodes for K-ion batteries because of the large theoretical gravimetric capacity by low molar ***,they suffer from severe structural change by de/intercalation and diffusion of K^(+)ions with large ionic size,which results in not only much lower reversible capacity than the theoretical capacity but also poor power ***,it is important to enhance the structural stability of the layered-type Tm oxides for outstanding electrochemical behaviors under the K-ion battery ***,it is investigated that the substitution of the appropriate Ti^(4+)contents enables a highly enlarged reversible capacity of P3-type KxCrO_(2) using combined studies of first-principles calculation and various *** the pristine P3-type KxCrO_(2) just exhibits the reversible capacity of∼120 mAh g^(−1) in the voltage range of 1.5-4.0 V(vs.K^(+)/K),the∼0.61 mol K^(+)corresponding to∼150 mAh g^(−1) can be reversible de/intercalated at the structure of P3-type K0.71[Cr_(0.75)Ti_(0.25)]O_(2) under the same ***,even at the high current density of 788 mA g^(−1),the specific capacity of P3-type K0.71[Cr_(0.75)Ti_(0.25)]O_(2) is∼120 mAh g^(−1),which is∼81 times larger than that of the pristine P3-type KxCrO_(2).It is believed that this research can provide an effective strategy to improve the electrochemical performances of the cathode materials suffered by severe structural change that occurred during charge/discharge under not only K-ion battery system but also other rechargeable battery systems.

This study explores the impact of introducing vacancy in the transition metal layer of rationally designed Na_(0.6)[Ni_(0.3)Ru_(0.3)mn_(0.4)]O_(2)(NRm)cathode *** incorporation of Ru,Ni,and vacancy enhances the structural stability during extensive cycling,increases the operation voltage,and induces a capacity increase while also activating oxygen redox,respectively,in Na_(0.7)[Ni_(0.2)V_(Ni0.1)Ru_(0.3)mn_(0.4)]O_(2)(V-NRm)*** analytical techniques including transmission electron microscopy,X-ray absorption near edge spectroscopy,operando X-ray diffraction,and operando differential electrochemical.mass spectrometry are employed to assess changes in the average oxidation states and structural *** results demonstrate that V-NRm exhibits higher capacity than NRm and maintains a moderate capacity retention of 81%after 100 ***,the formation of additional lone-pair electrons in the O 2p orbital enables V-NRm to utilize more capacity from the oxygen redox validated by density functional calculation,leading to a widened dominance of the OP4 phase without releasing O_(2) *** findings offer valuable insights for the design of advanced high-capacity cathode materials with improved performance and sustainability in sodium-ion batteries.

Synthesis and electrochemical performance of (100-x)li7P3S11-xli2OHBr composite solid electrolyte for all-solid-state lithium batteries

li7P3S11solid electrolytes with high lithium-ion conductivity are promising candidates for use in all-solidstate lithium ***,this electrolyte’s poor interfacial compatibility with lithium electrodes causes unstable *** this study,in order to address this probl.m,(100-x)li7P3S11-xli2OHBr(x=0,2,5,10,20,30,40,and 50)electrolytes are prepared by a high energy ball.milling technique and heat-treatment *** resulting(100-x)li7P3S11-xli2OHBr(x=2,5,10,20,30,40,and 50)electrolytes provide improved electrochemical performance with good cycling stability and a wide electrochemical window of up to 10 V(***/li+).moreover,these electrolytes have high ionic conductivity of 10-4–10-5S/cm at room ***,the 90li7P3S11-10li2OHBr electrolyte displays the highest conductivity of 4.4×10-4S/cm at room temperature as well as improved ***,90li7P3S11-10li2OHBr shows decreased interfacial resistance between the solid electrolyte and cathode electrode,which was revealed by Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy(EIS)*** initial discharge capacity of 90li7P3S11-10li2OHBr was found to be 135 m Ah/g when used in a In|solid electrolyte|li(Ni0.6Co0.2mn0.2)O2 all-solid-state lithium battery(ASSlB).Thus,we can conclude the addition of li2OHBr into the li7P3S11results in enhanced electrochemical properties.

Tuning the base properties of mg–Al hydrotalcite catalysts using their memory effect

Herein,the relationship between the structure and base properties of mg–Al hydrotalcite catalysts was comprehensively investigated in relation to heat treatment and rehydration processes,which are well known as memory effects of *** structure of mg–Al hydrotalcites changed from layered double hydroxide(lDH)to mixed metal oxide and subsequently to a spinel structure during heat treatment,and it was returned from mixed metal oxide to a lDH structure by *** on various characterizations,we successfully proposed a detailed mechanism of memory *** also confirmed that the mg–Al hydrotalcites had weak or strong base sites and that their base properties could be systematically tuned by heat treatment and *** prepared mg–Al hydrotalcites were applied to a model reaction,isomerization of glucose to fructose,as base *** the catalysts tested,the rehydrated mg–Al hydrotalcite efficiently produced fructose due to its appropriate base and structure *** finally concluded that the base sites of mg–Al hydrotalcites can be designed as desired by heat treatment and ***,through systematic design of the base sites of mg–Al hydrotalcites,these can be promising catalysts for various heterogeneous reactions over base catalysts,giving excellent catalytic performances.

Intra and extra pelvic multidisciplinary surgical approach of retroperitoneal sarcoma:Case series report

BACKGROUND Retroperitoneal sarcoma(RPS) is a rare malignancy arising from mesenchymal cells that most commonly presents as an abdominal.mass and is associated with poor *** several studies have assessed the survival benefits of wide excision,few have reported detailed methods for achieving wide excision in patients with *** To describe our experience with multidisciplinary surgical resection of RPS using intra-and extra-pelvic *** multidisciplinary surgery is an anatomical approach that combines intra-and extra-peritoneal access within the same surgery to achieve complete RPS *** retrospective review of the records of patients who underwent multidisciplinary surgery for RPS analyzed surgical and survival *** Eight patients underwent 10 intra-and extra-pelvic surgical resections,and their median mass size was 12.75 cm(range,6-45.5 cm).Using an intrapelvic approach,laparoscopy-assisted surgery was performed in four cases and laparotomy surgery in *** an extrapelvic approach,ilioinguinal and posterior approaches were used in four cases each,and the prone position and midline skin incision were shared in *** patients’ RPS masses were removed completely,and four achieved R0 resection through intra-and extra-pelvic *** median estimated blood loss was 2000 m l(range,300-20000 m l) and the median hospitalization was 12.6 d(range,9-69 d).Reoperation was needed in two patients(one for wound necrosis and the other for bowel perforation and wound necrosis).The median overall survival rate and median progression-free survival were 64.6 and 13.7 mo,*** RPS is therapeutically challenging because of its location and high risk of ***,intra-and extra-pelvic surgical approaches can improve the macroscopic security of the surgical.margin.

AIm: To evaluate the effects of Cordyceps militaris extract (CmE) on angiogenesis and tumor growth. mETHODS:Human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVEC), HT1080, and B16-F10 cells were used. DNA fragment, angio-genic related gene expressions (mmPs, bFGF, VEGF, etc), capillary tube formation, wound healing in vitro, tumorgrowth in vivo were measured. RESUlTS: CmE inhibited growth of HUVECs and HT1080 (PmE 100and 200 mg/l reduced mmP-2 gene expression in HT1080 cells by 6.0 % and 22.9 % after 3-h and 14.9 % and32.8 % after 6-h treatment. CmE did not affect mmP-9 gene expression in B16-F10 melanoma cells. CmE 100 and200 mg/l also reduced bFGF gene expression in HUVECs by 22.2 % and 41.3 %. CmE inhibited tube formation ofendothelial cells in vitro and in vivo. CmE repressed the growth of B16-F10 melanoma cells in mice compared withcontrol group (PlUSION: CmE has antiangiogenetic properties.

Clinicopathologic factors and molecular markers related to l.mph node metastasis in early gastric cancer

AIm: To analyze predictive factors for l.mph node metastasis in early gastric ***: We analyzed 1104 patients with early gastric cancer(EGC) who underwent a gastrectomy with l.mph-node dissection from may 2003 through July 2011. The clinicopathologic factors and molecular markers were assessed as predictors for l.mph node metastasis. molecular markers such as microsatellite instability, human mut l homolog 1, p53, epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR) and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2(HER2) were included. The χ2 test and logistic regression analysis were used to determine clinicopathologic ***: l.mph node metastasis was observed in 104(9.4%) of 1104 patients. Among 104 cases of l.mph node positive patients, 24 patients(3.8%) were mucosal cancers and 80 patients(16.7%) were submucosal. According to histologic evaluation, the number of l.mph node metastasis found was 4(1.7%) for well differentiated tubular adenocarcinoma, 45(11.3%) for moderately differentiated tubular adenocarcinoma, 36(14.8%) for poorly differentiated tubular adenocarcinoma, and 19(8.4%) for signet ring cell carcinoma. Of 690 EGC cases, 77 cases(11.2%) showed EGFR overexpression. HER2 overexpression was present in 110 cases(27.1%) of 406 EGC patients. With multivariate analysis, female gender(OR = 2.281, P = 0.009), presence of l.mphovascular invasion(OR = 10.950, P meter(≥ 20 mm, OR = 3.173, P = 0.01), and EGFR overexpression(OR = 2.185, P = 0.044) were independent risk factors for l.mph node ***: Female gender, tumor size, l.mphovascular invasion and EGFR overexpression were predictive risk factors for l.mph node metastasis in EGC.

BACKGROUND Diagnostic accuracy of various tumor markers and their combinations for hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)was not fully *** To evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of alpha-fetoprotein(AFP),the lens culinaris agglutinin-reactive fraction of AFP(AFP-l3),and protein induced by vitamin K absence or antagonist-II(PIVKA-II)and their combination for HCC *** Patients with newly detected liver mass or elevated serum AFP levels were considered *** AFP level,AFP-l3 fraction,and PIVKA-II level were measured at the first *** In total,622 patients were included;355 patients(57.1%)had chronic liver disease,and 208(33.4%)had liver *** was diagnosed in 160 patients(25.7%).The area under the receiver operating characteristics curves(AUROCs)of the serum AFP,AFP-l3 fraction,AFP-l3,and PIVKA-II levels for the diagnosis of HCC were 0.775,0.792,0.814,and 0.834,respectively.A novel diagnostic model was developed by classifying patients in a 1:1 ratio into training and validation *** the binary regression analysis of the training cohort,the AFP,AFP-l3 fraction,and PIVKA-II(AlPs)score was calculated as follows:AlPs score=3.8×[serum AFP level(ng/ml)×AFP-l3 fraction(%)×0.01]+0.2×PIVKA-II level.mAU/ml).The AUROC of the AlPs score for diagnosis of HCC was 0.878,significantly higher than that of serum AFP level(Pl3 fraction(Plevel(P=0.036),and AFP-l3 level(P=0.006).The optimal AlPs score cut-off was 5.3(sensitivity,85.0%,specificity 80.1%).The validation cohort showed similar *** The AlPs score calculated using serum AFP level,AFP-l3 fraction,and PIVKA-II level showed improved accuracy in HCC diagnosis.
