Tetramic acid-containing natural products are attracting significantly increasing attention from biologists and chemists due to their intriguing structures and biological *** the present study,two new tetramic acid alkaloids tolypyridone I(1)and tolypyridone J(2),together with five known ones(3–7),were isolated from cultures of a marine fungus Tolypocladium cylindrosporum FB06 isolate obtained from a marine sediment in Beaufort sea of North *** structures were elucidated using 1D,2D NMR,and *** configurations were established on the basis of 1H coupling constants,ROeSY correlations and DP4 *** 2 was isolated as mixtures of rotational isomers with C-3 to C-7 axis between 4-hydroxy-2-pyridone and 1-ethyl-3,5-dimethylcyclohexane,hindering *** our unbiased screening to discover neuroprotective compounds in an in vitro Parkinson’s disease(PD)model,SH-SY5Y dopaminergic cells were treated with isolated compounds followed by treatment with 1-methyl-4-phenylpyridinium(MPP^(+)),a parkinsonian *** tested compounds,F-14329(7)significantly protected cells from MPP^(+)-induced ***^(+)-mediated cell death is known to be related to the regulation of Bcl-2 family proteins,specifically the down-regulation of anti-apoptotic Bcl-2 and the up-regulation of pro-apoptotic Bax *** with 2 mmol/l of MPP^(+)for 24 h significantly reduced Bcl-2 levels compared to control treated with ***,treatment with F-14329(7)attenuated such *** study demonstrates that tetramic acid-motif compounds could be potential lead compounds for treating PD.

elK3-ID4 axis governs the metastatic features of triple negative breast cancer

This study investigates the possibilities offered by the development of graphene environment technology that can contribute to new and effective approaches for the transition to an ecologically benign *** analyze the research and development progress in graphene environment technology,graphene environment technology research trends of South Korea for the years 2009e2020 are investigated by acquiring information pertaining to national research and development projects related to graphene environment technology from the National Science and Technology Information *** structured and unstructured data are analyzed using diverse text-mining methods,such as keyword frequency analysis,association rule mining,and topic *** results indicate that graphene research in South Korea is focused primarily on graphene use in batteries and energy-storage devices,such as solar cells,fuel cells,and secondary *** study can help understand the manner by which the South Korean government has been investing in the research and development of graphene environment technology;additionally,it discusses the future applications and prospects of graphene for the next decade.

Pol.en tube growth is essential for successful double fertilization, which is critical for grain yield in crop plants. Rapid alkalinization factors(RAlFs) function as ligands for signal transduction during fertilization. However, functional studies on RAlF in monocot plants are ***, we functionally characterized two pol.en-specific RAlFs in rice(Oryza sativa) using multiple clustered regularly interspaced palindromic repeats(CRISPR)/CRISPR-associated protein 9-induced loss-of-function mutants,peptide treatment, expression analyses, and tag reporter lines. Among the 41 RAlF members in rice, OsRAlF17 was specifically expressed at the highest level in pol.en and pol.en *** appl.ed OsRAlF17 or OsRAlF19peptide inhibited pol.en tube germination and elongation at high concentrations but enhanced tube elongation at low concentrations, indicating growth regulation. Double mutants of OsRAlF17 and OsRAlF19(ralf17/19) exhibited almost full male sterility with defects in pol.en hydration, germination, and tube elongation,which was partially recovered by exogenous treatment with OsRAlF17 peptide. This study revealed that two partially functionally redundant OsRAlF17 and OsRAlF19 bind to Oryza sativa male-gene transfer defective 2(OsMTD2) and transmit reactive oxygen species signals for pol.en tube germination and integrity maintenance in rice. Transcriptomic analysis confirmed their common downstream genes, in osmtd2 and ralf17/19. This study provides new insights into the role of RAlF, expanding our knowledge of the biological role of RAlF in regulating rice fertilization.

emission of particulate and gaseous pollutants from household laser processing machine

Indoor air quality(IAQ) directly affects the health of occupants. Household manufacturing equipment(HMe) used for hobbies or educational purposes is a new and unexplored source of air pollution. In this study, we evaluated the characteristics of particulate and gaseous pollutants produced by a household laser processing equipment(Hl.e). Various target materials were tested using a commercial Hl.e under various operating conditions of laser power and sheath air flow rate. The mode diameters of the emitted particles gradually decreased as laser power increased, while the particle number concentration(PNC) and particle emission rate(PeR) increased. In addition, as the sheath air flow rate quadrupled from 10 to 40 l/min, the mode diameter of the emitted particles decreased by nearly 25%, but the effect on the PNC was insignificant. When the laser induced the target materials at 53 m W, the mode diameters of particles were ere > 2.0 × 10^(4) particles/cm^(3). Particularly, analyses of sampled aerosols indicated that harmful substances such as sulfur and barium were present in particles emitted from leather. The carcinogenic gaseous pollutants such as acrylonitrile, acetal.ehyde, 1,3-butadiene, benzene, and C 8 aromatics(ethyl.enzene) were emitted from all target materials. In an actual indoor environment, the PNC of inhalable ultrafine particles(UFPs) was > 5 × 10^(4) particles/cm^(3) during 30 min of Hl.e operation. Our results suggest that more meticulous control methods are needed, including the use of less harmful target materials along with fil.ers or adsorbents that prevent emission of pollutants.

Fabrication of Polythiophene Patterns through Blending of a Thermally Curable Polythiophene with Poly(methyl methacrylate) and Selective Thermal Curation

In this study, we demonstrate a novel method for fabricating polythiophene patterns, i.e., cylindrical holes and cylinders, through blending of a thermally curable polythiophene carrying with tertiary ester groups(PT-tert-eSTeR) and poly(methyl methacrylate)(PMMA), followed by thermal conversion of the PT-tert-eSTeR to an insoluble polythiophene via low-temperature cleavage of the tertiary ester groups and removal of the PMMA component via ultraviolet degradation. We show that the surface polarity of substrates, the mass ratio of PT-tert-eSTeR to PMMA in the blend solutions as well as the concentration of the blend solutions strongly infl.ence the formation of the polythiophene patterns. Cylindrical holes are more readily formed on less polar substrates when a PT-tert-eSTeR dominated blend solution is used, while cylinders are more readily formed on more polar substrates when a PMMA dominated blend solution is used. Moreover, the diameters of both the cylindrical holes and the cylinders decrease as the PT-tert-eSTeR concentration is increased in the respective ranges of the PT-tert-eSTeR/PMMA ratios where the patterns are formed. Grazing incident X-ray diffraction data have indicated that the patterning of the PT-tert-eSTeR component in the blend films improves the crystallinity of PT-tert-eSTeR as well as the molecular packing of the insoluble polythiophene in the resultant patterned polythiophene films.
