Myeloid-derived suppressor cells(MDSCs)are bone marrow(BM)-derived immunosuppressive cells in the tumor microenvironment,but the mechanism of MDSC mobilization from the BM remains *** investigated how BM stromal cell activation by PTH1R contributes to MDSC ***1R activation by parathyroid hormone(PTH)or PTH-related peptide(PTHrP),a tumor-derived counterpart,mobilized monocytic(M-)MDSCs from murine BM without increasing immunosuppressive *** vitro cell-binding assays demonstrated thatα4β1 integrin and vascular cell adhesion molecule(VCAM)-1,expressed on M-MDSCs and osteoblasts,respectively,are key to M-MDSC binding to *** PTH1R activation,osteoblasts express VEGF-A and IL6,leading to Src family kinase phosphorylation in *** inhibitors suppressed PTHrP-induced MDSC mobilization,and Src activation in M-MDSCs upregulated two proteases,ADAM-17 and MMP7,leading to VCAM1 shedding and subsequent disruption of M-MDSC tethering to ***,our data provide the molecular mechanism of M-MDSC mobilization in the bones of tumor hosts.

Aqueous Zn-ion batteries （AZIBs） have received considerable attention owing to their various advantages such as safety,low cost,simple battery assembly conditions,and high ionic ***,they still suffer from serious problems,including uncontrollable dendrite growth,corrosion,hydrogen evolution reaction （HER） from water decomposition,electrode passivation,and unexpected *** creation of a uniform artificial nanocrystal layer on the Zn anode surface is a promising strategy for resolving these ***,we propose the use of a perovskite CaTiO3（CTO） protective layer on Zn（CTO@Zn） as a promising approach for improving the performance of *** CTO artificial layer provides an efficient pathway for Zn ion diffusion towards the Zn metal because of the high dielectric constant （εr=180） and ferroelectric characteristics that enable the alignment of dipole moments and redistribute the Zn2+ions in the CTO *** avoiding the direct contact of the Zn anode with the electrolyte solution,the uneven dendrite growth,corrosion,parasitic side reactions,and HER are mitigated,while CTO retains its mechanical and chemical robustness during ***,CTO@Zn demonstrates an improved lifespan in a symmetric cell configuration compared with bare ***@Zn shows steady overpotential （～68 m V） for 1500 h at 1 mA cm-2/0.5 mA h cm-2,excelling bare ***,when paired with the V2O5-C cathode,the CTO@Zn//V2O5-C full battery delivers 148.4 mA h g-1（based on the mass of the cathode） after 300 *** study provides new insights into Zn metal anodes and the development of high-performance AZIBs.

Thick and hard ceramic coatings were fabricated on A356 aluminum alloy by using plasma electrolytic oxidation(PEO) technique. The microstructure and phase composition of the PEO coatings were examined by using SEM and XRD method. It is found that the PEO coatings are mainly composed of crystalline α-Al2O3 and mullite. The dry sliding wear test of PEO coatings were carried out on a ring-on-ring wear machine. Results shows that there is hardly no wear loss of polished PEO coatings while the wear rate of uncoated aluminum alloy is 4.3×10-5 mm3·(N·m)-1 at a speed of 0.52 m·s-1 and a load of 40 N.

Performance of LIDAR- and radar-based turbulence intensity measurement in comparison with anemometer-based turbulence intensity estimation based on aircraft data for a typical case of terrain-induced turbulence in association with a typhoon

The Hong Kong Observatory (HKO) provides low-level turbulence alerting service for the Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) through the windshear and turbulence warning system (WTWS). In the WTWS, turbulence intensities along the flight paths of the airport are estimated based upon correlation equations established between the surface anemometer data and the turbulence data from research aircraft before the opening of the airport. The research aircraft data are not available on day-to-day basis. The remote sensing meteorological instruments, such as the Doppler light detection and ranging (LIDAR) and radar, may be used to provide direct measurements of turbulence intensities over the runway corridors. The performances of LIDAR- and radar-based turbulence intensity data are studied in this paper based on actual turbulence intensity measurements made on 423 commercial jets for a typical case of terrain-induced turbulence in association with a typhoon. It turns out that, with the tuning of the relative operating characteristic (ROC) curve between hit rate and false alarm rate, the LIDAR-based turbulence intensity measurement performs better than the anemometer-based estimation of WTWS for turbulence intensity at moderate level or above. On the other hand, the radar-based measurement does not perform as well when compared with WTWS. By combining LIDAR- and radar-based measurements, the performance is slightly better than WTWS, mainly as a result of contribution from LIDAR-based measurement. As a result, the LIDAR-based turbulence intensity measurement could be used to replace anemometer-based estimate for non-rainy weather conditions. Further enhancements of radar-based turbulence intensity measurement in rain would be necessary.

Early-life stress is associated with a high prevalence of mental illnesses such as post-traumatic stress disorders,attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder,schizophrenia,and anxiety or depressive behavior,which constitute major public health *** the early stages of brain development after birth,events such as synaptogenesis,neuron maturation,and glial differentiation occur in a highly orchestrated manner,and external stress can cause adverse long-term effects throughout *** body utilizes multifaceted mechanisms,including neuroendocrine and neurotransmitter signaling pathways,to appropriately process external *** individuals first exposed to early-life stress deploy neurogenesis as a stress-defense mechanism;however,in adulthood,early-life stress induces apoptosis of mature neurons,activation of immune responses,and reduction of neurotrophic factors,leading to anxiety,depression,and cognitive and memory *** process involves the hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal axis and neurotransmitters secreted by the central nervous system,including norepinephrine,dopamine,and *** rodent early-life stress model is generally used to experimentally assess the effects of stress during *** paper reviews the use of the early-life stress model and stress response mechanisms of the body and discusses the experimental results regarding how early-life stress mediates stress-related pathways at a high vulnerability of psychiatric disorder in adulthood.

Fe3O4:SiO2 nanocomposite powders were synthesized by a two-step process,which included the precipitation of FeCl2 and FeCl3 and the gelation of silicic acid solution derived from water *** first,Fe3O4 nanoparticles having a crystallite size of 20 nm were obtained by controlling the ratio of Fe(II) and Fe(III) *** the second step,Fe3O4 particles were embedded in SiO2 matrix by the hydrolysis and subsequent condensation of the silicic acid solution containing Fe3O4 *** was found that the Fe3O4 nanoparticles homogenously disperse in the SiO2 *** Fe3O4:SiO2 nanocomposite exhibited an enhanced thermal stability against oxidation compared with pure ***-IR analysis indicates the presence of the Si-O-Fe bond in the Fe3O4:SiO2 (1:10,mole fraction) nanocomposite.

The growing demand for energy-efficient solutions has led to increased interest in analyzing building facades,as buildings contribute significantly to energy consumption in urban ***,conventional image segmentation methods often struggle to capture fine details such as edges and contours,limiting their effectiveness in identifying areas prone to energy *** address this challenge,we propose a novel segmentation methodology that combines object-wise processing with a two-stage deep learning model,Cascade ***-wise processing isolates components of the facade,such as walls and windows,for independent analysis,while Cascade U-Net incorporates contour information to enhance segmentation *** methodology involves four steps:object isolation,which crops and adjusts the image based on bounding boxes;contour extraction,which derives contours;image segmentation,which modifies and reuses contours as guide data in Cascade U-Net to segment areas;and segmentation synthesis,which integrates the results obtained for each object to produce the final segmentation *** to a dataset of Korean building images,the proposed method significantly outperformed traditional models,demonstrating improved accuracy and the ability to preserve critical structural ***,we applied this approach to classify window thermal loss in real-world scenarios using infrared images,showing its potential to identify windows vulnerable to energy ***,our Cascade U-Net,which builds upon the relatively lightweight U-Net architecture,also exhibited strong performance,reinforcing the practical value of this *** approach offers a practical solution for enhancing energy efficiency in buildings by providing more precise segmentation results.

Metal–organic framework-templated nitrogen-doped graphitic carbon(NGC)and polydopaminederived carbon(PDA-derived C)-double coated one-dimensional CoSe_(2) nanorods supported highly porous threedimensional microspheres are introduced as anodes for excellent Na-ion batteries,particularly with long-lived cycle under carbonate-based electrolyte *** microspheres uniformly composed of ZIF-67 polyhedrons and polystyrene nanobeads(φ=40 nm)are synthesized using the facile spray pyrolysis technique,followed by the selenization process(P-CoSe_(2)@NGC NR).Further,the PDA-derived C-coated microspheres are obtained using a solution-based coating approach and the subsequent carbonization process(P-CoSe_(2)@PDA-C NR).The rational synthesis approach benefited from the synergistic effects of dual carbon coating,resulting in a highly conductive and porous nanostructure that could facilitate rapid diffusion of charge species along with efficient electrolyte infiltration and effectively channelize the volume ***,the prepared nanostructure exhibits extraordinary electrochemical performance,particularly the ultra-long cycle life *** instance,the advanced anode has a discharge capacity of 291(1000th cycle,average capacity decay of 0.017%)and 142 mAh g^(-1)(5000th cycle,average capacity decay of 0.011%)at a current density of 0.5 and 2.0 A g^(-1),respectively.

AIM:To investigate the changes in renal function at 12-24 mo in patients following sodium phosphate(NaP) preparation for screening ***:We carried out a retrospective study on the results from patients who received health check-up services as part of an employer-provided wellness program performed between August 2006 and May 2008 and who were followed up for 12-24 *** to screening colonoscopy,224 patients underwent bowel cleansing with NaP(NaP group) and 113 patients with polyethylene glycol(PEG group).The control group comprised 672 age-matched *** compared the changes in the creatinine levels and the glomerular filtration rates(GFRs) from baseline to 12-24 mo between the NaP,PEG,and control groups using two-way repeated measured analysis of *** addition,multivariate linear regression analysis was performed to assess the risk factors for a decreased ***:The baseline mean serum creatinine level in the NaP,PEG,and control groups was 1.12 ± 0.15,1.12 ± 0.16,and 1.12 ± 0.15 mg/dL,which increased to 1.15 ± 0.15,1.15 ± 0.18,and 1.15 ± 0.15 mg/dL,respectively,after 12-24 *** baseline mean GFR in the NaP,PEG,and control groups was 69.0 ± 7.7,68.9 ± 8.0,and 69.6 ± 6.7 mL/min per 1.73 m2,which decreased to 66.5 ± 7.8,66.5 ± 8.3,and 67.4 ± 6.4 mL/min per 1.73 m2,respectively,after 12-24 *** changes in serum creatinine levels and GFRs were not significantly between the NaP,PEG,and control groups(P = 0.992 and P = 0.233,respectively).Using multivariate linear regression analysis,only the baseline GFR was associated with the change in GFR(P change in GFR(P = 0.297).CONCLUSION:NaP bowel preparation in subjects with normal renal function was not associated with renal injury,and NaP can thus be used safely for screening colonoscopy.

A cobalt-silica hybrid nanocatalyst bearing small cobalt particles of diameter -5 nm was prepared through a hydrothermal reaction and hydrogen reduction. The resulting material showed very high CO conversion （〉82%） and high hydrocarbon productivity （-1.0gHC·gcat^-1·h^-1 ） with high activity （-8.5 × 10^-5 ***^-1.s-1） in the Fischer-Tropsch synthesis reaction.
