AIM:To report CT and MR imaging findings of ocular adnexal mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue lymphoma associated with IgG4-related disease(IgG4-MALT lymphoma),a rare but clinically important complication of ocular adnexal IgG4-related ***:We retrospectively reviewed all cases of histologically confirmed ocular adnexal IgG4-related disease at three ter tiary and one secondary referral centers,between February 2003 and December *** cases of histopathologically diagnosed IgG4-MALT lymphoma were *** and MR images were analyzed by consensus of two experienced head and neck ***:Lacrimal glands were the main site of involvement in all seven *** lesions typically showed well-demarcated margins,iso-to hyperattenuation on precontrast CT,T2 hypo-to isointensity,T1 isointensity,and homogenous internal architecture with homogenous enhancement *** were mostly hyperdense and isointense to normal extraocular muscles on postcontrast CT and MR images,***:Unlike in typical ocular adnexal IgG4-related disease,T2 isointensity and hyperattenuation on precontrast CT images were noted in some IgG4-MALT lymphoma *** the findings may be nonspecific,the possibility of accompanying MALT lymphoma may need to be considered,when ocular adnexal lesions in patients clinically suspected of having IgG4-related disease are refractory to glucocorticoids and show T2 isointensity and hyperattenuation on precontrast CT for the optimal management of the ***,this is a case series of a very rare complication of ocular adnexal IgG4-related disease,and thus caution is warranted to generalize the conclusion.

Risk factor for ischemic-type biliary lesion after ABO-incompatible living donor liver transplantation

AIM: To evaluate the risk factors for ischemic-type biliary lesion(ITBL) after ABO-incompatible(ABO-I) adult living donor liver transplantation(ALDLT).METHODS: Among 141 ALDLTs performed in our hospital between 2008 and 2014, 27(19%) were ABO-I ALDLT and 114 were ABO-identical/compatible ALDLT. In this study, we extensively analyzed the clinico-pathological data of the 27 ABO-I recipients to determine the risk factors for ITBL after ABO-I ALDLT. All ABO-I ALDLT recipients underwent an identical B-cell depletion protocol with preoperative rituximab, plasma exchange(PE), and operative splenectomy. The median follow-up period after transplantation was 26 mo. The clinical outcomes of the 27 ABO-I ALDLT recipients were compared with those of 114 ABO-identical/compatible ALDLT ***: ITBL occurred in four recipients(14.8%) between 45 and 112 d after ABO-I ALDLT. The overall survival rates were not different between ABO-I ALDLT and ABO-identical/compatible ALDLT(P = 0.303). Among the ABO-I ALDLT recipients, there was no difference between patients with ITBL and those without ITBL in terms of B-cell and T-cell count, serum isoagglutinin titers, number of PEs, operative time and transfusion, use of graft infusion therapy, or number of remnant B-cell follicles and plasma cells in the spleen. However, the perioperative NK cell counts in the blood of patients with ITBL were significantly higher than those in the patients without ITBL(P 150/μL and postoperative NK cell count > 120/μL were associated with greater relative risks(RR) for development of ITBL(RR = 20 and 14.3, respectively, P < 0.05). CONCLUSION: High NK cell counts in a transplant recipient's blood are associated with ITBL after ABO-I ALDLT. Further research is needed to elucidate the molecular mechanism of NK cell involvement in the development of ITBL.

Simplified fistula dilation technique and modified stent deployment maneuver for EUS-guided hepaticogastrostomy

AIM:To evaluate the success rates,procedural time and adverse event rates of the modified methods in endoscopic ultrasonography-guided hepaticogastrostomy(EUS-HGS).METHODS:Twenty-eight patients in a prospective case series who underwent EUS-HGS(phaseⅠ).Fortysix patients in a matched case-control study(phaseⅡ).The simplified technique for fistula dilation was the primary use of a 4 mm balloon catheter with a stainless steel *** stent deployment was modified by deploying the metal stent inside a bile duct(half of the stent)under EUS and fluoroscopic guidance and gently pulling the echoendoscope after full deployment of the stent inside the echoendoscope channel(remaining portion of the stent)under fluoroscopic *** cohort was compared with a matched historical ***:In phaseⅠ,the technical and clinical success with the modified method was 96%(27/28)and89%(24/27 as per-protocol analysis).The overall adverse event rate was 7%.In phaseⅡ,there was no difference in technical and clinical success,stent patency and overall adverse events in each ***,the procedural time(15.3±5.2 min vs 22.3±6.0 min,P<0.001)and early adverse events(0%vs 26%,P=0.02)were statistically improved in case cohort compared with control ***:Compared with the conventional EUSHGS technique,the procedural time was shorter and early adverse events were less frequent with our simplified and modified technique.

CD (Cryptocarya densiflora) Blume has traditionally been used as an herbal medicine. In this study, the effects of CDEE (CD ethanol extract) on inflammation were investigated in LPS (lipopolysaccharide)-stimulated mouse RAW264.7 macrophages. We investigated the effects of CDEE on the production of NO, PGE2 interleukin (IL)-6, IL-1β, and tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α in LPS-stimulated RAW264.7 cells. We measured the mRNA or protein expression of the pro-inflammatory mediators induced by CDEE in LPS-stimulated RAW264.7 cells. We explored the expression of Nrf-2, heme oxygenase (HO)-1 and NADPH-quinone oxidoreductase (NQO)-1 to elucidate the antioxidative mechanisms. CDEE significantly inhibited the production of NO, PGE2, IL-6, IL-1β and TNF-α in LPS-stimulated RAW264.7 cells. CDEE suppressed the mRNA or protein expression of iNOS, COX-2, and the MAPKs with a reduction in the translocation of NF-κB in LPS-stimulated RAW264.7 cells. In addition, CDEE significantly increased the expression of HO-1 and NQO-1 with an increase in the translocation of Nrf-2 into the nucleus. These results indicate that CDEE inhibits the LPS-induced inflammatory and oxidative responses via suppression of NF-κB activation and the enhancement of Nrf2 activation. We suggest that CDEE may be therapeutic for treating inflammatory diseases.

Isolation of Acidic Mucilage from the Outer Seed Coat of Shaddock (Citrus grandis Osbeck) and Evaluation of Its Functional Properties

After water imbibition, the outer layer seed coat of shaddock (Citrus grandis Osbeck) produces transparent gel-like mucilage (MSS), but its characteristics have never been studied before. This study aimed to assess the physico-chemical and functional properties of MSS. Extractions of MSS with deionized water at room temperature yielded about 3.5% based on the dry weight of seed. The major components were neutral sugars and uronic acids in the amounts of 33.5% and 49.6%, respectively. The acidic nature of MSS was confirmed by ruthenium red staining. Its water holding capacity and viscosity were 44.53 g•g-1 DW and 1660 cP at 10 g/L, respectively. MSS showed a weak quenching activity against DPPH radical, and moderate ferrous ion-chelating and superoxide anion radical scavenging activities, with IC50 value of 1.5 g/L and 1.1 g/L, respectively. A methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium (MTT) assay demonstrated that MSS significantly stimulated the viability of mouse skin fibroblasts (NIH/3T3) at 5 - 300 mg/L. These results impart the potential usefulness of the MSS to food, cosmetics and other applications.

Epidermal growth factor upregulates Skp2/Cks1 and p27^(kip1) in human extrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma cells

蛋白质S-棕榈酰化修饰是指棕榈酸分子通过硫酯键共价结合在蛋白质分子的半胱氨酸（S）的巯基侧链上,是蛋白质脂类修饰的重要形式之一,在细胞信号转导、代谢等过程中起着重要作用。本实验首先利用酰基-生物素置换反应,将A型流感病毒血凝素蛋白上的S-棕榈酸分子转换为含有生物素（Biotin）分子的标签。生物素标记蛋白经特异性富集、电泳分离纯化后,进行胶内水解。再利用质谱技术对水解混合物进行分析。结果表明,经酰基-生物素置换方法处理A型流感病毒裂解产物后,蛋白质耦联生物素的浓度（羟胺处理,+Hydroxylamine）与空白对照组（未加羟胺处理,-Hydroxylamine）的比值大于3;对经富集后的流感病毒血凝素蛋白进行了质谱分析,鉴定了A型的两个S-棕榈酰化修饰位点,分别位于蛋白羧基末端的Cys;和Cys;。本研究为大规模研究S-棕榈酰化修饰蛋白提供了一种特异、有效的分析方法。

Gyejibokryeong-Hwan improves recovery of injured muscles in mouse model of muscle contusion

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effects of Gyejibokryeong-Hwan(Guizhifuling-wan, GBH) on muscle injury in a mouse model of muscle ***: C57/BL6 mouse biceps femoris muscles were injured using the drop-mass method and injured animals were treated orally with GBH(50,100, or 500 mg/kg) once a day for 7 d. Open field and treadmill running tests were performed to assess functional recovery from muscle injury. The production of pro-inflammatory cytokines was examined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and Western blotting analysis. Expression of the muscle regeneration biomarkers, myoblast determination(Myo D), myogenic factor 5(Myf5), and smooth muscle actin(α-SMA), in the biceps femoris muscle was investigated at the protein and m RNA level by Western blotting and real time-PCR, respectively. Histological analysis was performed using hematoxylin and eosin staining. Finally, myosin heavy chain production was investigated in differentiated C2C12 myoblasts in the presence of ***: GBH treatment markedly improved locomotion and running behavior. GBH significantly inhibited the secretion of monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 into the bloodstream in muscle-contused animals. The levels of Myo D, Myf5, and α-SMA protein and m RNA were significantly up-regulated by GBH in injured muscle tissue. Histological studies suggested that GBH facilitated recovery from muscle damage. However, GBH did not induce the production of myosin heavy chain in ***: Overall, the present study suggested that GBH improves the recovery of the injured muscles in the mouse model of muscle contusion.

海峡两岸非正规聚落火灾现状分析研究

全球城镇化进程显著提高了人民的物质生活水平和城市基础设施。然而,南北半球区域性经济发展不平衡导致全球依然有10亿人居住在生活水平较低和消防防治水平十分落后的非正规聚落中。近些年,国内外非正规聚落火灾频繁发生,但是有关中国内地和台湾地区非正规聚落的火灾研究却处于初步阶段。为加深对海峡两岸非正规聚落火灾的理解和认识,通过中国内地和台湾地区学者的合作开展了调查研究,简要概述了两岸非正规聚落的房屋类型和火灾危险性;并调研总结了两岸非正规聚落现有的火灾研究现状;根据两岸非正规聚落的成因和形态,简要总结了其火灾风险和消防问题。研究发现:中国内地的非正规聚落主要分为棚户区、城中村、群租房、临时住所和部分少数民族传统村落等;台湾地区的非正规聚落主要分为违章使用和既有合法建筑两种形态:违章使用多见于违法分租、铁皮加盖与违法使用(农地自行盖房舍),既有合法建筑主要包括三合院、四合院、古迹历史建筑物和原住民部落等。两岸非正规聚落的房屋类型和火灾隐患具有共性,亟需开展更多的科学研究。
