The evolution and functional divergence of 10 Apolipoprotein D-like genes in Nilaparvata lugens

Apolipoprotein D(ApoD),a member of the lipocalin superfamily of proteins,is involved in lipid transport and stress *** only a single copy of the ApoD gene is found in humans and some other vertebrates,there are typically several ApoD-like genes in *** date,there have been relatively few studies that have examined the evolution and functional differentiation of ApoD-like genes in insects,particularly hemi-metabolous *** this study,we identified 10 ApoD-like genes(NlApoD1−10)with distinct spatiotemporal expression patterns in Nilaparvata lugens(BPH),which is an important pest of ***1−10 were found to be distributed on 3 chromosomes in a tandem array of NlApoD1/2,NlApoD3−5,and NlApoD7/8,and show sequence and gene structural divergence in the coding regions,indicating that multiple gene duplication events occurred during *** analysis revealed that NlApoD1−10 can be clustered into 5 clades,with NlApoD3−5 and NlApoD7/8 potentially evolving exclusively in the Delphacidae *** screening using an RNA interference approach revealed that only NlApoD2 was essential for BPH development and survival,whereas NlApoD4/5 are highly expressed in testes,and might play roles in ***,stress response analysis revealed that NlApoD3−5/9,NlApoD3−5,and NlApoD9 were up-regulated after treatment with lipopolysaccharide,H2O2,and ultraviolet-C,respectively,indicating their potential roles in stress resistance.

Adaptive Iterative Learning Control of Non-uniform Trajectory Tracking for Strict Feedback Nonlinear Time-varying Systems

In this paper, an iterative learning control strategy is presented for a class of nonlinear time-varying systems, the timevarying parameters are expanded into Fourier series with bounded remainder term. The backstepping design technique is used to deal with system dynamics with non-global lipschitz nonlinearities and the approach proposed in this paper solves the non-uniform trajectory tracking problem. Based on the Lyapunov-like synthesis, the proposed method shows that all signals in the closed-loop system remain bounded over a pre-specified time interval [0, T ]. And perfect non-uniform trajectory tracking of the system output is completed. A typical series is introduced in order to deal with the unknown bound of remainder term. Finally, a simulation example shows the feasibility and effectiveness of the approach.

Global FLS-based Consensus of Stochastic Uncertain Nonlinear Multi-agent Systems

Using graph theory, matrix theory, adaptive control, fuzzy logic systems and other tools, this paper studies the leader-follower global consensus of two kinds of stochastic uncertain nonlinear multi-agent systems(MAS). Firstly, the fuzzy logic systems replaces the feedback compensator as the feedforward compensator to describe the uncertain nonlinear dynamics. Secondly, based on the network topology, all followers are divided into two categories: One is the followers who can obtain the leader signal, and the other is the follower who cannot obtain the leader signal. Thirdly, based on the adaptive control method, distributed control protocols are designed for the two types of followers. Fourthly, based on matrix theory and stochastic Lyapunov stability theory, the stability of the closed-loop systems is analyzed. Finally, three simulation examples are given to verify the effectiveness of the proposed control algorithms.

Distributed Adaptive Synchronization of Complex Dynamical Network with Unknown Time-varying Weights

A new approach of adaptive distributed control is proposed for a class of networks with unknown time-varying coupling weights. The proposed approach ensures that the complex dynamical networks achieve asymptotical synchronization and all the closed-loop signals are bounded. Furthermore, the coupling matrix is not assumed to be symmetric or irreducible and asymptotical synchronization can be achieved even when the graph of network is not connected. Finally, a simulation example shows the feasibility and effectiveness of the approach.

Adaptive Iterative Learning Control for Nonlinear Time-delay Systems with Periodic Disturbances Using FSE-neural Network

An adaptive iterative learning control scheme is presented for a class of strict-feedback nonlinear time-delay systems, with unknown nonlinearly parameterised and time-varying disturbed functions of known periods. Radial basis function neural network and Fourier series expansion （FSE） are combined into a new function approximator to model each suitable disturbed function in systems. The requirement of the traditional iterative learning control algorithm on the nonlinear functions （such as global lipschitz condition） is relaxed. Furthermore, by using appropriate Lyapunov-Krasovskii functionals, all signs in the closed loop system are guaranteed to be semiglobally uniformly ultimately bounded, and the output of the system is proved to converge to the desired trajectory. A simulation example is provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the control scheme.

GH_2 Control for Uncertain Discrete-time-delay Fuzzy Systems Based on a Switching Fuzzy Model and Piecewise Lyapunov Function

Generalized H2 （GH2） stability analysis and controller design of the uncertain discrete-time Takagi-Sugeno （T-S） fuzzy systems with state delay are studied based on a switching fuzzy model and piecewise Lyapunov function. GH2 stability sufficient conditions are derived in terms of linear matrix inequalities （LMIs）. The interactions among the fuzzy subsystems are considered. Therefore, the proposed conditions are less conservative than the previous results. Since only a set of LMIs is involved, the controller design is quite simple and numerically tractable. To illustrate the validity of the proposed method, a design example is provided.

Delay-dependent Non-fragile H_∞ Filtering for Uncertain Fuzzy Systems Based on Switching Fuzzy Model and Piecewise Lyapunov Function

This paper is concerned with the non-fragile H∞ filter design problem for uncertain discrete-time Takagi-Sugeno （T-S） fuzzy systems with time delay. To begin with, the T-S fuzzy system is transformed to an equivalent switching fuzzy system. Then, based on the piecewise Lyapunov function and matrix decoupling technique, a new delay-dependent non-fragile H∞ filtering method is proposed for the switching fuzzy system. The proposed condition is less conservative than the previous results. Since only a set of LMIs is involved, the filter parameters can be solved directly. Finally, a design example is provided to illustrate the validity of the proposed method.

Viral infection of tobacco plants improves performance of Bemisia tabaci but more so for an invasive than for an indigenous biotype of the whitefly

The ecological effects of plant-virus-vector interactions on invasion of alien plant viral vectors have been rarely investigated. We examined the transmission of Tomato yellow leaf cur/China virus （TYLCCNV） by the invasive Q biotype and the indigenous ZHJ2 biotype of the whitefly Bemisia tabaci, a plant viral vector, as well as the influence of TYLCCNV-infection of plants on the performance of the two whitefly biotypes. Both whitefly biotypes were able to acquire viruses from infected plants and retained them in their bodies, but were unable to transmit them to either tobacco or tomato plants. However, when the Q biotype fed on tobacco plants infected with TYLCCNV, its fecundity and longevity were increased by 7- and 1-fold, respectively, compared to those of the Q biotype fed on uninfected tobacco plants. When the ZHJ2 biotype fed on virus-infected plants, its fecundity and longevity were increased by only 2- and 0.5-fold, respectively. These data show that the Q biotype acquired higher beneficial effects from TYLCCNV-infection of tobacco plants than the ZHJ2 biotype. Thus, the Q biotype whitefly may have advantages in its invasion and displacement of the indigenous ZHJ2 biotype.

This paper proposes a new adaptive iterative learning control approach for a class of nonlinearly parameterized systems with unknown time-varying delay and unknown control *** employing the parameter separation technique and signal replacement mechanism,the approach can overcome unknown time-varying parameters and unknown time-varying delay of the nonlinear *** incorporating a Nussbaum-type function,the proposed approach can deal with the unknown control direction of the nonlinear *** on a Lyapunov-Krasovskii-like composite energy function,the convergence of tracking error sequence is achieved in the iteration ***,two simulation examples are provided to illustrate the feasibility of the proposed control method.

Gene expression profiling of the whitefly （Bemisia tabaci） Middle East- Asia minor 1 feeding on healthy and Tomato yellow leaf curl China virus-infected tobacco

Begomoviruses are exclusively transmitted by whitefly （Bemisia tabaci） in a circulative, non-propagative manner. The influences of begomoviruses on whitefly vector are complex with both direct and indirect effects. However, the molecular mechanisms underlying these effects are poorly understood and the transcriptional profiles of whitefly on healthy and virus-infected plants have not yet been studied. Using suppression subtractive hybridization, we investigated the differentially expressed genes in whitefly Middle East - Asia minor 1 feeding on healthy and Tomato yellow leaf curl China virus （TYLCCNV） infected tobacco. From the forward cDNA library, 124 differentially expressed expression sequence tags （ESTs） were obtained which represent up-regulated genes in the whiteflies feeding on the infected tobacco. From the reverse library, 112 ESTs were isolated which represent down-regulated genes. Among the up-regulated genes, we identified several genes that are probably involved in direct interaction between whitefly and TYLCCN~, including a 26/29-kDa proteinase that appears to participate in the elimination of foreign proteins, heparan sulfate proteoglycan which mediates the entry of several viruses into host cells and two genes of Rickettsia-a secondary endosymbiotic bacterium of whitefly. In addition, we identified a number of genes involved in metabolism, transcription and translation which might be the result of indirect effects of TYLCCNV on the whitefly via host plants. Collectively, our results suggest that TYLCCNV-infected tobacco changes the gene expression profiles of whitefly via both direct and indirect interactions. This study revealed a number of genes involved in whitefly-TYLCCNV-tobacco interactions and provided useful information for future study on this complex system.
