Mechanistic insight into the synergy between nickel single atoms and nanoparticles on N-doped carbon for electroreduction of CO2

In the study, a new method based on the second-order calibration of three-way fingerprints of PAHs（SCTFP） was developed for the source apportionment of urban PM10 for the first time. First, simulated three-way data arrays of GC-MS were used to verify the feasibility of SCTFP. Then, PM10 and pollution source samples were collected during July and August, 2018 in Loudi City, China. After resolving the problems of GC-MS including baseline drift, retention-time shift and unexpected peaks overlapping, chromatographic and mass spectral profiles and concentrations of PAHs were accurately obtained by the second-order calibration of GC-MS data of samples. Last, a contribution matrix of the source to the receptor was estimated according to the obtained concentrations of PAHs. The proposed method was employed to apportion the source contributions to PM10 at five locations and reasonable results were obtained, thus presenting a promising tool for source apportionment of complex ambient particulate matter.

The synergy of single atoms （SAs） and nanoparticles （NPs） has demonstrated great potential in promoting the electrocatalytic carbon dioxide reduction reaction （CO2RR）;however,the rationalization of the SAs/NPs proportion remains one challenge for the catalyst ***,a Ni2+-loaded porous poly（ionic liquids）(PIL) precursor synthesized through the free radical self-polymerization of the ionic liquid monomer,1-allyl-3-vinylimidazolium chloride,was pyrolyzed to prepare the Ni,N co-doped carbon materials,in which the proportion of Ni SAs and NPs could be facilely modulated by controlling the annealing *** catalyst Ni-NC-1000 with a moderate proportion of Ni SAs and NPs exhibited high efficiency in the electrocatalytic conversion of CO2into *** Ni K-edge X-ray absorption near-edge structure （XANES） spectra and theoretical calculations were conducted to gain insight into the synergy of Ni SAs and *** charge transfer from Ni NPs to the surrounding carbon layer and then to the Ni SAs resulted in the electron-enriched Ni SAs active *** the electroreduction of CO2,the coexistence of Ni SAs and NPs strengthened the CO2activation and the affinity towards the key intermediate of*COOH,lowering the free energy for the potential-determining*CO2→*COOH step,and therefore promoted the catalysis efficiency.

Topographic and geomorphological features and tectogenesis of the southern section of the Kyushu-Palau Ridge(KPR)and its adjacent areas

Three sensitivity phenotypes of wild-type sensitivity, high and moderate resistance were identified among field strains of Gibberella zeae to the benzimidazole fungicide carbendazim (MBC). The whole sequence of the beta-tubulin gene from twenty-eight G. zeae strains representing the three field phenotypes and from five G. zeae laboratory MBC-resistance mutants was separated using PCR. No alternative change was found at the beta-tubulin gene in all MBC-resistant strains both from field and laboratory. Thus, it can be concluded that the mechanism of G. zeae to MBC-resistance is different from other filamentous fungi, which was caused by point mutation at amino acid position 198 or other position of beta-tubulin gene. To look for the carbendazim resistance mechanism of G. zeae, microtubule-associated protein gene (map) and other members of tubulin gene family, i.e. alpha-, alpha2-, gamma-, and no-named tubulins were also cloned and analyzed. The results revealed that there was not any mutation found in alpha-, alpha2-, gamma-tubulins genes and map among three sensitivity phenotypes. However, alternation at codon 33, 64 and 66 in a no-named tubulin gene, which had 997 bp lengths, including one intron, encoding 313 amino acids, corresponded to the different phenotype sensitivities, respectively. At Codon 33, TTT encoding phenylalanine in MBC-sensitive isolates was converted to TAT coding tyrosine in field middle MBC-resistance strains. At codon 64, GAG was altered into CTG resulting in substitution of glutamic acid for leucine in a field high benzimidazole-resistance isolate. While one-nucleotide mutation GAG into AAG also at the same codon 64 resulted in the single amino acid substitution of glutamic acid for lysine in UV induced high MBC-resistance mutants. But at codon 66, only a different single point mutation of TTC (in sensitive isolates) to TAC (in the NT07 isolate) caused a change of phenylalanine (Phe) to a tyrosine (Tyr) expressing middle resistance level, too.

The Philippine Sea is the largest marginal sea in the Western Pacific Ocean and is divided into two parts by the Kyushu-Palau Ridge(KPR).The western part is the West Philippine Basin,and the eastern part consists of the Shikoku and Parece Vela *** on surveyed data of massive high-resolution multibeam bathymetric data and sub-bottom profiles data collected from the southern section of the KPR from 2018 to 2021,this paper analyzes the topographic and geomorphological features,shallow sedimentary features,and tectonic genesis of the southern section of the KPR,obtaining the following *** southern section of the KPR has complex and rugged topography,with positive and negative topography alternatingly distributed and a maximum height difference of 4086 *** slope of seamounts in this section generally exceeds 10°and is up to a maximum of 59°.All these contribute noticeably discontinuous *** are primarily nine geomorphological types in the southern section of the KPR,including seamounts,ridges,and intermontane valleys,*** them,seven independent seamount groups are divided by five large troughs,forming an overall geomorphological pattern of seven abyssal seamount groups and five *** reflects the geomorphological features of a deep oceanic *** basins and intermontane valleys in the southern section of the KPR are covered by evenly thick *** contrast,sediments in ridges and seamounts in this section are thin or even missing,with slumps developing ***,the sediments are discontinuous and unevenly *** KPR formed under the control of tectonism such as volcanic activities and plate *** addition,exogenic forces such as underflow scouring and sedimentation also play a certain role in shaping seafloor landforms in the KPR.

Carbon materials are widely recognized as highly promising electrode materials for various energy storage system *** tar residues(CTR),as a type of carbon-rich solid waste with high value-added utilization,are crucially important for the development of a more sustainable *** this study,we employed a straightforward direct carbonization method within the temperature range of 700-1000℃to convert the worthless solid waste CTR into economically valuable carbon materials as anodes for potassium-ion batteries(PIBs).The effect of carbonization temperature on the microstructure and the potassium ions storage properties of CTR-derived carbons(CTRCs)were systematically explored by structural and morphological characterization,alongside electrochemical performances *** on the co-regulation between the turbine layers,crystal structure,pore structure,functional groups,and electrical conductivity of CTR-derived carbon carbonized at 900℃(CTRC-900H),the electrode material with high reversible capacity of 265.6m Ah·g^(-1)at 50 m A·g^(-1),a desirable cycling stability with 93.8%capacity retention even after 100 cycles,and the remarkable rate performance for PIBs were ***,cyclic voltammetry(CV)at different scan rates and galvanostatic intermittent titration technique(GITT)have been employed to explore the potassium ions storage mechanism and electrochemical kinetics of *** indicate that the electrode behavior is predominantly governed by surface-induced capacitive processes,particularly under high current densities,with the potassium storage mechanism characterized by an“adsorption-weak intercalation”*** work highlights the potential of CTR-based carbon as a promising electrode material category suitable for high-performance PIBs electrodes,while also provides valuable insights into the new avenues for the high value-added utilization of CTR.

In the intricate process of natural product biosynthesis, a metabolon can enhance metabolic flux by associating sequential enzymes. A fungal metabolon, comprising of flavin-dependent monooxygenase Spe F and P450 monooxygenase Spe G, is identified in the biosynthesis of spiro polycyclic alkaloids(+)-notoamide B and its diastereomer(+)-versicolamide B. Using notoamide E as a substance, Spe F/Spe G metabolon can control the stereoselectivity of its 2,3-epoxidation, followed by hydrogen atom ion at C-17 to generate reactive epoxide tau-m A with dienyl iminium unit. Subsequently,(+)-notoamide B and(+)-versicolamide B are produced via tandem nonenzymatic inverse-electron-demand Diels-Alder reaction and semipinacol rearrangement. This provides the first example of metabolon in the biosynthesis of spiro-prenylated indole alkaloids.

Overexpression of low-density lipoprotein receptor prevents neurotoxic polarization of astrocytes via inhibiting NLRP3 inflammasome activation in experimental ischemic stroke

Why do humans punish free riders at their own expense? This behavior represents an evolutionary puzzle in human societies. This study explores the role of exit strategies in fostering altruistic punishment within evolutionary game theory. We extend the traditional prisoner's dilemma model by incorporating exiters, players who opt out for a small payoff while nullifying their opponent's payoff, and altruistic punishers who cooperate and punish non-cooperators. Our findings indicate that in well-mixed populations, exiters destabilize defection but do not promote altruistic punishment. In social networks, however,exiters enable altruistic punishment via cyclic dominance among altruistic punishers, defectors, and exiters. Notably, this cyclic dominance is sensitive to exit payoffs; adjustments can lead to cyclic dominance of non-punishing cooperators, defectors, and exiters, or to a bi-stable state between these two types of cyclic dominance. These results highlight the nuanced impact of exiters on altruistic punishment, emphasizing the need for careful incentivization of exit behavior. While exiters can support altruistic punishment in networked populations, their effectiveness is not a panacea and is highly sensitive to exit payoffs, indicating limits to the voluntary participation mechanism.

针对Nomex蜂窝填充双马树脂基复合材料夹层结构在固化成型过程中易出现的蜂窝芯边缘塌陷问题进行研究。通过采用不同的成型工艺方法,以及对共固化工艺参数进行调整,研制出相应的双马来酰亚胺树脂基碳纤维/蜂窝夹层结构层板,并且对夹层结构的力学性能、内部质量以及平面拉伸性能进行测试。在此基础上分析了成型压力参数对夹层结构质量的影响。相关工艺试验表明蜂窝芯塌陷的原因主要是固化过程中蜂窝芯边缘的滑移引起的蜂窝局部失稳,通过采取分步成型、蜂窝先胶接后修型的方法能够有效地解决Nomex蜂窝夹层结构填充双马树脂基复合材料结构成型过程中的蜂窝芯塌陷问题。
