Distribution of oxide inclusions in H13 castings under super-gravity field with multi-stage rotation speeds

The 42 kg industrial H13 castings were prepared by different super-gravity fields with multi-rotation speeds,and the distribution of oxide inclusions in the castings was *** addition,the inward movement Reynolds number and inward movement time of oxide inclusions as well as the solidification time of molten steel at different positions in the castings were calculated to clarify the removal mechanism of oxide inclusions in super-gravity *** results show that the large size(i.e.,greater than 10μm)oxide inclusions are mainly concentrated in the inner and outer parts of the super-gravity castings with constant rotation speed(500 r min^(-1))and five-stage rotation speeds(500,600,750,850,and 950 r min^(-1)),respectively,while there are no large oxide inclusions in the super-gravity castings with three-stage rotation speeds(500,600,and 750 r min^(-1)).Although an increase in the particle size of inclusion and the rotation speed in super-gravity field is conducive to the increase in the inward movement Reynolds number of oxide inclusions and reduction in the inward movement time of oxide inclusions,it will reduce the local solidification time of molten *** the range of the rotation speed studied,the super-gravity field with three-stage rotation speeds has the best effect on the removal of inclusions in H13 molten steel.

Resolving aging dynamics of a 3D colloidal glass

Physical aging is an inherent property of glassy matter, but understanding its mic.oscopic mechanism remains a challenge particularly at the particle level. In this work, we use a confocal mic.oscope to in-situ trace the particle trajec.ories in a 3D colloidal glass for 73000 s, aiming at resolving the aging dynamics. By calculating the mean square displacement of particle motions, we find that the glass aging with time can be divided into three stages: β relaxation, α relaxation and free diffusion. The system's mean square displacement at each aging state is quantitatively resolved into three contributions of particle dynamics modes: vibration within the nearest-neighbor cages, hopping between cages and c.operative rearrangement. We further calculate the particle's free volume and find that the β-to-α transition is ac.ompanied by the temporary increase of the system-averaged free volume due to pronounced hops of particles. Nevertheless, the temporal autocorrelation of the free volume spatial distribution still obeys a monotonically stretched exponential decay with an exponent of 0.76, which is related to the sub-diffusion dynamics of c.operative rearrangements and hops mixed in α relaxation. Ac.ording to the resolved vibrational displacements,we calculate the vibrational density of states of this 3D glass, and the characteristic boson peak is reproduced at low *** findings shed insight into the particle-level aging dynamics of a real glass under purely thermal activation.

Solar-light-driven co_(2) reduction co to cH_(4) and c2H6 is a complex process involving multiple elementary reactions and energy ***,achieving high cH_(4) activity and selectivity remains a significant ***,we integrate bifunctional cu2o and cu-MoF(MoF=metal-organic framework)core–shell co-catalysts(cu2o@cu-MoF)with semiconduc.or Tio_(2).Experiments and theoretical calculations demonstrate that cu2o(cu+facilitates charge separation)and cu-MoF(cu2+improves the co_(2) adsorption and activation)in the core–shell structure have a synergistic effect on photocatalytic co_(2) reduction,reducing the formation barrier of the key intermediate*c.oH and**** photocatalyst exhibits high cH_(4) yield(366.0μmol·g^(-1)·h^(-1)),efficient electron transfer(3283μmol·g^(-1)·h^(-1))and hydrocarbon selectivity(95.5%),which represents the highest activity of cu-MoF-based catalysts in photocatalytic co_(2) reduction *** work provides a strategy for designing efficient photocatalysts from the perspective of precise regulation of components.

Mechanism of Metabolic Dysfunction-associated Steatotic Liver Disease:Important role of lipid metabolism

Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease(MASLD),formerly known as non-alcoholic fatty liver disease,has a high global prevalence and can progress to metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis,cirrhosis,and hepatocellular *** pathogenesis of MASLD is primarily driven by disturbances in hepatic lipid metabolism,involving six key processes:increased hepatic fatty acid uptake,enhanced fatty acid synthesis,reduced oxidative degradation of fatty acids,increased c.olesterol uptake,elevated c.olesterol synthesis,and increased bile acid ***,maintaining hepatic lipid metabolic homeostasis is essential for effective MASLD *** novel molecules and chinese proprietary medicines have demonstrated promising therapeutic potential in treating MASLD,primarily by inhibiting lipid synthesis and promoting lipid *** this review,we summarized recent research on MASLD,elucidated the molecular mechanisms by which lipid metabolism disorders contribute to MASLD pathogenesis,and discussed various lipid metabolism-targeted therapeutic approaches for MASLD.

As the need for energy storage devices escalates,aqueous zinc.on batteries(ZIBs)have risen as a promising alternative to the widely used Li-ion batteries,offering intrinsic safety,environmental compatibility,and cost advantages,positioning them as attractive energy storage systems for the future[1,2].However,challenges such as dendrite growth on Zn anodes,stemming from uneven electric fields on the surface and active water side reactions,compromise cycling stability and lifespan,posing significant hurdles for the practical application of ZIBs[3,4].To mitigate these issues,strategies like electrolyte optimization,artificial solid electrolyte interphase(SEI)layers,and current collec.or modifications have been proposed[5,6].Nevertheless,most long-cycle experiments are conducted at low current densities and deposition capacities,with high current density and capacity operations typically lasting less than 1000 h[7].

Differential bonding behaviors of sodium/potassium-ion storage in sawdust waste carbon derivatives

Sodium-ion batteries(SIBs) and potassium-ion batteries(PIBs) are the most promising alternatives to lithium-ion batteries, and thus have drawn intensive research attention. Porous carbon materials from different precursors have been widely used as anode materials owing to their compatible storage effectiveness of both larger radii sodium and potassium ions. However, the differential bonding behaviors of Na and K ions with porous carbon-based anode are the significant one worth investigating, which could provide a clean picture of alkali ions storage mechanism. Therefore, in this work, we prepare a porous carbon network derived from sawdust(SDc) wastes, to further analyze the differences on sodium and potassium ions storage behaviors in terms of bond-forming process. It is found that, as-prepared SDc anodes could deliver stable sodium and potassium storage capacities, however, there are notable distinctions in terms of electrochemical behaviors and diffusion processes. By virtue of ex-situ XRD and Raman spectroscopy, the phase transition reaction of potassium ions could be well-observed, and the results shows that the multiple intercalated compounds was formed in SDc network during ions insertion, further resulting in slower diffusion kinetics and larger resistance compared to non-bonded process of sodium ions storage. This study provides more insights into the differences between sodium and potassium ions storage, as well as the energy storage mechanism of porous carbon as anodes for secondary batteries.
