The pressure evolution associated with the transient shock-induced infiltration of gas flow through granular media consisting of mobile particles is numerically investigated using a coupled Eulerian–Lagrangian approach.The coupling between shock compaction and interstitial flow has been revealed.A distinctive two-stage diffusing pressure field with deflection occurring at the tail of the compaction front is found,with corresponding spikes in both gaseous velocity and temperature profiles emerging within the width of the compaction front.The compaction front,together with the deflection pressure,reaches a steady state during the later period.An analytical prediction of the steady deflection pressure that considers the contributions of porosity and the non-isothermal effect is proposed.The isothermal single-phase method we developed,combining the porosity jump condition across the compaction front,shows consistent pressure evolution with the non-isothermal CMP-PIC one under weak shock strength and low column permeability.Lastly,the microscale mechanism governing the formation of not only pressure deflection but also gaseous velocity and temperature spikes within the width of the compaction front has been described.These aforementioned evolutions of the flow field are shown to arise from the nozzling effects associated with the particle-scale variations in the volume fraction.

Macrophages,a heterogeneous population of innate immune cells,exhibit remarkable plasticity and play pivotal roles in coordinating immune responses and maintaining tissue homeostasis within the context of metabolic diseases.The activation of inflammatory macrophages in obese adipose tissue leads to detrimental effects,inducing insulin resistance through increased inflammation,impaired thermogenesis,and adipose tissue fibrosis.Meanwhile,adipose tissue macrophages also play a beneficial role in maintaining adipose tissue homeostasis by regulating angiogenesis,facilitating the clearance of dead adipocytes,and promoting mitochondrial transfer.Exploring the heterogeneity of macrophages in obese adipose tissue is crucial for unraveling the pathogenesis of obesity and holds significant potential for targeted therapeutic interventions.Recently,the dual effects and some potential regulatory mechanisms of macrophages in adipose tissue have been elucidated using single-cell technology.In this review,we present a comprehensive overview of the intricate activation mechanisms and diverse functions of macrophages in adipose tissue during obesity,as well as explore the potential of drug delivery systems targeting macrophages,aiming to enhance the understanding of current regulatory mechanisms that may be potentially targeted for treating obesity or metabolic diseases.

The optimization of hot compression technique of as-cast 0Cr23Ni13 stainless steel at high strain rate was discussed,and its corrosion resistance was evaluated after hot compression treatment experimentally.By adjusting the dynamic recrys-tallization(DRX)ratio of 0Cr23Nil3 stainless steel during hot pressing,the content of low Σ coincident site lattice(ΣCSL)grain boundaries is increased,and the grain orientation is optimized.The results show that ferrite and austenite are completely recrystallized at 1050 and 1150℃,respectively.The number of grains in theanddirections increases significantly,the corrosion potential increases,and the corrosion current density decreases,which will signifi-cantly improve the corrosion resistance of 0Cr23Nil3 stainless steel.After the optimization of grain boundary distribution,corrosion resistance is noticeably improved due to the existence of lowΣCSL boundaries.The interference effect of lowΣCSL grain boundary on random grain boundary network becomes intense with the increase in DRX ratio,which is the fundamental measure to improve the corrosion resistance.

Objective To evaluate the efficacy of Chinese plaster containing rhubarb and mirabilite on surgical site infection(SSI)in patients with cesarean delivery(CD)by performing a randomized controlled trial.Methods This randomized controlled trial included 560 patients with CD due to fetal head descent enrolled at a tertiary teaching center between December 31,2018 and October 31,2021.Eligible patients were randomly assigned to a Chinese medicine(CM)group(280 cases)or a placebo group(280 cases)by a random number table,and were treated with CM plaster(made by rhubarb and mirabilite)or a placebo plaster,respectively.Both courses of treatment lasted from the day 1 of CD,followed day 2 until discharge.The primary outcome was the total number of patients with superficial,deep and organ/space SSI.The secondary outcome was duration of postoperative hospital stay,antibiotic intake,and unplanned readmission or reoperation due to SSI.All reported efficacy and safety outcomes were confirmed by a central adjudication committee that was unaware of the study-group assignments.Results During the recovery process after CD,the rates of localized swelling,redness and heat were significantly lower in the CM group than in the placebo group[7.55%(20/265)vs.17.21%(47/274),Plite had an effect on SSI.It is safe for mothers and imposes lower economic and mental burdens on patie

The macromolecular architecture is the crucial factor in determining the arrangement of the ordering structures,which,because of the multiscale feature,may exhibit distinct melting behaviors and induce the so-called memory effect to affect the following recrystallization.Until present,the correlation between the occurrence of memory effect and the intrinsic molecular structure is still far from the comprehensive understanding.In this work,four kinds of 1-butene/α-olefin random copolymers were designed and synthesized using the(pyridyl-amino)hafnium catalyst to introduce the different branches.The branch length was precisely controlled by the specific α-olefin comonomers,which include 1-hexene,1-decene,1-tetradecene,and 1-octadecene,while the branch density was tuned by the incorporation.As expected,the incorporation of α-olefin co-units to poly(1-butene)backbone decreases the non-isothermal crystallization kinetics and the degree of crystallinity.More interestingly,the resulting linear branch can induce the occurrence of memory effect and the threshold concentration of co-units(i.e.,branch density)decreases with increasing the branch length.Based on the results of these 1-butene/α-olefin copolymers with designable branches,a direct correlation with the occurrence of memory effect and the fraction of amorphous region was established,which quantitatively indicates the degree of local segregation of the crystallized poly(1-butene)sequences by theα-olefin co-units.

Objective To examine the anti-inflammatory effects and potential mechanisms of polypeptide from Moschus(PPM)in lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-induced THP-1 macrophages and BALB/c mice.Methods The polypeptide was extracted from Moschus and analyzed by high-performance liquid chromatography and sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis(SDS-PAGE).Subsequently,LPS was used to induce inflammation in THP-1 macrophages and BALB/c mice.In LPS-treated or untreated THP-1 macrophages,cell viability was observed by cell counting kit 8 and lactate dehydrogenase release assays;the proinflammatory cytokines and reactive oxygen species(ROS)were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and flow cytometry,respectively;and protein and mRNA levels were measured by Western blot and real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction(qRT-PCR),respectively.In LPS-induced BALB/c mice,the proinflammatory cytokines were measured,and lung histology and cytokines were observed by hematoxylin and eosin(HE)and immunohistochemical(IHC)staining,respectively.Results The SDS-PAGE results suggested that the molecular weight of purified PPM was in the range of 10–26 kD.In vitro,PPM reduced the production of interleukin 1β(IL-1β),IL-18,tumor necrosis factorα(TNF-α),IL-6 and ROS in LPS-induced THP-1 macrophages(Pligomerization domain,leucine-rich repeat and pyrin domain containing 3(NLRP3)inflammasome pathway by reducing protein expression of phospho-NF-κB p65,phospho-inhibitors of NF-κB(IκBs)kinaseα/β(IKKα/β),TXNIP,NLRP3,apoptosis-associated speck-like protein containing a caspase recruitment domain(ASC),and pro-caspase-1(P<0.05 or P<0.01).In addition,qRT-PCR revealed the inhibitory effects of PPM on the mRNA levels of TXNIP,NLRP3,ASC,and caspase-1(P<0.05 or P<0.01).Furthermore,in LPS-induced BALB/c mice,PPM reduced TNF-αand IL-6 levels in serum(P<0.05 or P<0.01),decreased I

Hot-core heavy reduction rolling is an innovative technology for continuous casting billet at the end of solidification.The deformation characteristics of GCr15 bearing billet were investigated over the temperature range of 1000-1300℃ with the strain rate of 0.001-10 s^(-1) by the Gleeble 3800 thermo-mechanical simulator.Firstly,the true stress-strain data are calibrated by the friction correction method to acquire accurate parameters near the solidus.Then,the Laasraoui-type constitutive model and dynamic austenite grain size model are established by the thermal compression results and corrosion experimental results,and the predicted values of the experimental interval are obtained by using the models.Meanwhile,the accuracy of models is verified by comparing the predicted curves with the experimental data.Last but not the least,the dynamic parameters between solidus and liquidus are predicted by the two models,and the difficulty of experimental collecting near the melting point is solved.

Uniform deposition of ultra-thin TiO_(2) film on mica substrate by atmospheric pressure chemical vapor deposition: Effect of precursor concentration

The performance of pearlescent pigment significantly affected by the grain size and the roughness of deposited film. The effect of TiCl_(4) concentration on the initial deposition of TiO_(2) on mica by atmospheric pressure chemical vapor deposition(APCVD) was investigated. The precursor concentration significantly affected the deposition and morphology of TiO_(2) grains assembling the film. The deposition time for fully covering the surface of mica decreased from 120 to 10 s as the TiCl_(4) concentration increased from 0.38%to 2.44%. The grain size increased with the TiCl_(4) concentration. The AFM and TEM analysis demonstrated that the aggregation of TiO_(2) clusters at the initial stage finally result to the agglomeration of fine TiO_(2) grains at high TiCl_(4) concentrations. Following the results, it was suggested that the nucleation density and size was easy to be adjusted when the TiCl_(4) concentration is below 0.90%.

Background:Acer griseum Pax is an endangered species endemic to China with both ornamental and economic value.However,the lack of information on its genome size and characteristics hinders further work at the genome level.Methods:This paper applied bioinformatics methods to predict the characteristics and patterns of the A.griseum genome,providing an important basis for formulating its whole-genome sequencing scheme.This study also characterized the simple sequence repeats(SSRs)of A.griseum,laying the foundation for the development and application of genome-wide SSR markers.In this study,PE150 sequencing was performed by the BGI MGISEQ platform,and the sequence files were analyzed by the K-mer method to estimate the characteristic information by GCE software.Results:The genome size was finally determined to be 739.63 Mb,its heterozygosity ratio was 1.33%,and the repetition ratio was 65.68%.A total of 825,960 SSR loci were identified in the assembled genome sequence,and primers were successfully designed for 526,020 loci.To verify the effectiveness of these primers,100 pairs of primers were randomly selected and synthesized,and 81 pairs successfully amplified the target fragments.Fourteen pairs of primers with good polymorphism were selected for principal component analysis of 31 A.griseum individuals from two populations,showing favorable heterozygosity and PIC values.According to the findings,these SSRs might identify genetic variations based on geographic areas.Conclusion:It is suggested that Illumina+PacBio assembly strategy should be used for whole-genome sequencing due to the high heterozygosity rate and high repetition rate of the genome.In addition,the SSR primers designed in batches in this study laid a foundation for the in-depth study of population structure and population maintenance mechanism of A.griseum,which is helpful for the effective conservation and sustainable utilization of this germplasm resource.
