Collisions between a moving mass and an anti-collision device increase structural responses and threaten structural *** active mass damper(AMD)with stroke limitations is often used to avoid ***,a strokelimited AMD control system with a fixed limited area shortens the available AMD stroke and leads to significant control *** solve this problem,the design approach with variable gain and limited area(VGLA)is proposed in this ***,the boundary of variable-limited areas is calculated based on the real-time status of the moving *** variable gain(VG)expression at the variable limited area is deduced by considering the saturation of AMD ***,numerical simulations of a stroke-limited AMD control system with VGLA are conducted on a high-rise building *** numerical simulations show that the proposed approach has superior strokelimitation performance compared with a stroke-limited AMD control system with a fixed limited ***,the proposed approach is validated through experiments on a four-story steel frame.

Effect of Oxygen Partial Pressure on Phase Equilibria and Liquidus in CaO-Al_2O_3-FeO_x System

A high temperature equilibration experiment was carried out to investigate the effect of oxygen partial pres- sure on the phase equilibria and liquidus in CaO-Al2O3- FeOx system with the intermediate oxygen partial pressures of 10.13 Pa and 1.01 × 10^-3 Pa. The equilibrated phases and their compositions of the quenched samples were analyzed by using SEM/EPMA （Scanning Electron Microscope/Electron Probe Micro Analysis） and XRD （X Ray Diffraction）. The phase equilibrium results include two cases, the two phase coexistence and the three-phase coexistence in the high Al2O3 region with oxygen partial pressure of either 10.13 Pa or 1.01 × 10^-3 Pa. Effects of oxygen partial pressure and temperature on the liquidus along the primary phase fields of CaO · Al2O3 and CaO · 2Al2O3 were nota hle. With the decrease of oxygen partial pressure, the liquid area expands and the liquidus of CaO · Al2O3 and CaO · 2Al2O3 primary fields moves to the Al2O3-FeOx region. On the other hand, the liquid area of CaO Al2O3-FeOx sys tem extends extremely to the high Al2O3 region with the temperature increasing from 1 400 to 1 500℃, especially at lower oxygen partial pressure. The present experiment results are in good agreement with the calculated ones by FactSage.

With the aid of the truncated Painlev expansion, a set of rational solutions of the (2+1)-dimensional generalized Nizhnik-Novikov-Veselov (GNNV) equation with the quadratic function which contains one lump soliton is derived. By combining this quadratic function and an exponential function, the fusion and fission phenomena occur between one lump soliton and a stripe soliton which are two kinds of typical local excitations. Furthermore, by adding a corresponding inverse exponential function to the above function, we can derive the solution with interaction between one lump soliton and a pair of stripe solitons. The dynamical behaviors of such local solutions are depicted by choosing some appropriate parameters.

Control of N-nitrosodimethylamine(NDMA)in drinking water could be achieved by removing its precursors as one practical ***,superfine powdered activated carbons with a diameter of about 1μm(SPACs)were successfully prepared by grinding powdered activated carbon(PAC,D50=24.3μm)and applied to remove model NDMA precursors,***(RAN)and nizatidine(NIZ).Results fromgrain diameter experiments demonstrated that the absorption velocity increased dramatically with decreasing particle size,and the maximum increase in k2 was 26.8-folds for RAN and 33.4-folds for ***,kinetic experiments explained that rapid absorption could be attributed to the acceleration of intraparticle diffusion due to the shortening of the diffusion ***,performance comparison experiments suggested that the removal of RAN and NIZ(C_(0)=0.5 mg/L)could reach 61.3%and 60%,respectively,within 5 min,when the dosage of SAPC-1.1(D_(50)=1.1μm)was merely 5 mg/L,while PAC-24.3 could only eliminate 17.5%and 18.6%.The adsorption isotherm was well defined by Langmuir isotherm model,indicating that the adsorption of RAN/NIZ was a monolayer coverage *** adsorption of RAN or NIZ by SAPC-1.1 and PAC-24.3 was strongly pH dependent,and high adsorption capacity could be observed under the condition of pH>pk_(a)+*** coexistence of humic acid(HA)had no significant effect on the adsorption performance because RAN/NIZ may be coupled with HA and removed *** coexistence of anions had little effect on the adsorption *** study is expected to provide an alternative strategy for drinking water safety triggered by NDMA.

Vortex transmutation utilizes a periodic system,which not only enables the alteration of the topological charge(TC)of unstable input vortices but also facilitates their transformation into stable *** approach is crucial for investigating the characteristics of vortices in various wave ***,we achieve acoustic vortex TC transmutation by employing a welldesigned dual-structured plate external system(DPES).The interactions between the acoustic vortex and the finite-order discrete rotational symmetry lead to the transformation of its topological charge when complete rotational symmetry is broken to Nthorder discrete *** results experimentally demonstrate the acoustic vortex TC transmutation based on passive artificial structures,enabling numerous applications in particle manipulation and information multiplexing as well as advancing our understanding and control over free-space acoustic vortices.

Carbon materials are widely recognized as highly promising electrode materials for various energy storage system *** tar residues(CTR),as a type of carbon-rich solid waste with high value-added utilization,are crucially important for the development of a more sustainable *** this study,we employed a straightforward direct carbonization method within the temperature range of 700-1000℃to convert the worthless solid waste CTR into economically valuable carbon materials as anodes for potassium-ion batteries(PIBs).The effect of carbonization temperature on the microstructure and the potassium ions storage properties of CTR-derived carbons(CTRCs)were systematically explored by structural and morphological characterization,alongside electrochemical performances *** on the co-regulation between the turbine layers,crystal structure,pore structure,functional groups,and electrical conductivity of CTR-derived carbon carbonized at 900℃(CTRC-900H),the electrode material with high reversible capacity of 265.6m Ah·g^(-1)at 50 m A·g^(-1),a desirable cycling stability with 93.8%capacity retention even after 100 cycles,and the remarkable rate performance for PIBs were ***,cyclic voltammetry(CV)at different scan rates and galvanostatic intermittent titration technique(GITT)have been employed to explore the potassium ions storage mechanism and electrochemical kinetics of *** indicate that the electrode behavior is predominantly governed by surface-induced capacitive processes,particularly under high current densities,with the potassium storage mechanism characterized by an“adsorption-weak intercalation”*** work highlights the potential of CTR-based carbon as a promising electrode material category suitable for high-performance PIBs electrodes,while also provides valuable insights into the new avenues for the high value-added utilization of CTR.

The synergy of single atoms(SAs)and nanoparticles(NPs)has demonstrated great potential in promoting the electrocatalytic carbon dioxide reduction reaction(CO_(2)RR);however,the rationalization of the SAs/NPs proportion remains one challenge for the catalyst ***,a Ni2+-loaded porous poly(ionic liquids)(PIL)precursor synthesized through the free radical self-polymerization of the ionic liquid monomer,1-allyl-3-vinylimidazolium chloride,was pyrolyzed to prepare the Ni,N co-doped carbon materials,in which the proportion of Ni SAs and NPs could be facilely modulated by controlling the annealing *** catalyst Ni-NC-1000 with a moderate proportion of Ni SAs and NPs exhibited high efficiency in the electrocatalytic conversion of CO_(2)into *** Ni K-edge X-ray absorption near-edge structure(XANES)spectra and theoretical calculations were conducted to gain insight into the synergy of Ni SAs and *** charge transfer from Ni NPs to the surrounding carbon layer and then to the Ni SAs resulted in the electron-enriched Ni SAs active *** the electroreduction of CO_(2),the coexistence of Ni SAs and NPs strengthened the CO_(2)activation and the affinity towards the key intermediate of*COOH,lowering the free energy for the potential-determining*CO_(2)→*COOH step,and therefore promoted the catalysis efficiency.

Porphyry copper deposits(PCDs)supply the majority of the world's copper(Cu)as well as significant amounts of molybdenum(Mo)and gold(Au).The formation of these deposits is controlled by a variety of geological factors,among which the magmatic oxidation is one of the focuses of current *** study investigates the redox characteristics of arc magmas by analyzing the ratio of vanadium(V)to scandium(Sc)and its correlation with the oxygen fugacity(fO2)of magmas from arcs of various crustal thicknesses *** compiled an extensive dataset of published V/Sc values and studied the partition coefficients of Vand Sc between minerals and silicate melts across various magmatic *** results demonstrate that fractional crystallization of magnetite markedly reduces V/Sc values of the residual ***,magnesium number(Mg#)at the onset of magnetite fractionation is strongly positively correlated with fO_(2)of the equilibrium *** on this,the oxidation of arc magmas from different crustal thicknesses can be *** result suggests that magmas generated in crusts thicker than 20 km tend to be more oxidized with increasing crust *** trend is attributed to enhanced intracrustal differentiation processes involving garnet and amphibole,particularly in mature island and continental *** contrast,magmas in thinner arc crusts(<20 km),which are significantly influenced by subducted slab materials,display higher oxidation states than most of their thicker crust *** findings suggest that both subduction dynamics and crustal thickness play a vital role in determining the oxidation state of arc magmas and,consequently,their capacity to generate *** oxidized,primitive arc magmas are less favorable for PCD formation due to that they tend to experience magnetite fractionation and thus sulfide saturation in the early stage of magma evolution,a process leading to copper *** the contrary,thick arcs where magnet

All-season thermal management with zero energy consumption and emissions is more crucial to global decarbonization over traditional energy-intensive cooling/heating ***,the static single thermal management for cooling or heating fails to self-regulate the temperature in dynamic seasonal temperature ***,inspired by the dual-temperature regulation function of the fur color changes on the backs and abdomens of penguins,a smart thermal management composite hydrogel(PNA@H-PM Gel) system was subtly created though an "on-demand" dual-layer structure design *** PNA@H-PM Gel system features synchronous solar and thermal radiation modulation as well as tunable phase transition temperatures to meet the variable seasonal thermal requirements and energy-saving demands via self-adaptive radiative cooling and solar heating ***,this system demonstrates superb modulations of both the solar reflectance(ΔR=0.74) and thermal emissivity(ΔE=0.52) in response to ambient temperature changes,highlighting efficient temperature regulation with average radiative cooling and solar heating effects of 9.6℃ in summer and 6.1℃ in winter,***,compared to standard building baselines,the PNA@H-PM Gel presents a more substantial energy-saving cooling/heating potentials for energy-efficient buildings across various regions and *** novel solution,inspired by penguins in the real world,will offer a fresh approach for producing intelligent,energy-saving thermal management materials,and serve for temperature regulation under dynamic climate conditions and even throughout all seasons.
