The discovery of efficient,selective,and stable electrocatalysts can be a key point to produce the largescale chemical fuels via electrochemical CO_(2) reduction(ECR).In this study,an earth-abundant and nontoxic ZnO-based electrocatalyst was developed for use in gas-diffusion electrodes(GDE),and the effect of nitrogen(N)doping on the ECR activity of ZnO electrocatalysts was ***,a ZnO nanosheet was prepared via the hydrothermal method,and nitridation was performed at different times to control the N-doping *** an increase in the N-doping content,the morphological properties of the nanosheet cha.ged significantly,namely,the 2D nanosheets transformed into irregularly sha.ed ***,the ECR performance of Zn O electrocatalysts with different N-doping content was assessed in 1.0 M KHCO_(3) electrolyte using a gas-diffusion electrode-based ECR *** the ECR activity increased after a small amount of N doping,it decreased for higher N doping *** them,the N:ZnO-1 h electrocatalysts showed the best CO selectivity,with a faradaic efficiency(FE_(CO))of 92.7%at-0.73 V *** hydrogen electrode(RHE),which was greater tha. tha. of an undoped Zn O electrocatalyst(FE_(CO)of 63.4%at-0.78 V_(RHE)).Also,the N:ZnO-1 h electrocatalyst exhibited outstanding durability for 16 h,with a partial current density of-92.1 mA cm^(-2).This improvement of N:ZnO-1 h electrocatalyst can be explained by density functional theory calculations,demonstrating tha. this improvement of N:ZnO-1 h electrocatalyst comes from(ⅰ)the optimized active sites lowering the free energy barrier for the rate-determining step(RDS),and(ⅱ)the modification of electronic structure enha.cing the electron transfer rate by N doping.

Importance of dietary supplementation of soluble and insoluble fibers to sows subjected to high ambient temperatures during late gestation and effects on lactation performance

Heat stress adversely affects sows' performance, which can be improved by applying proper nutritional strategies. This study was conducted to investigate the interactive effects of dietary fiber levels and sources on sows' reproductive performance, metabolic response during gestation, and the carry-over influence on litter performance in the lactation period during heat stress(average room temperature of 27.1°C). Fifty-four multiparous sows(Landrace × Yorkshire; initial body weight of 236.3 ± 16 kg; 2, 3and 4 parities) at d 90 of gestation were assigned to a 2 × 3 factorial arrangement(9 sows/treatment),involving 2 dietary fiber levels(4.5% and 6% crude fiber) and 3 dietary fiber sources(wheat bran [WB],palm kernel meal [PK], and beet pulp [BP]). Sows fed the BP diet ha. highest(P ha.n fatty acid production was increased in the WB and BP treatments compared with the PK. Sows in the BP treatment showed the lowest(P = 0.036) ha.r cortisol. The blood insulin concentration of sows was higher(P = 0.026) in the high fiber(6%) treatment compared with the low fiber(4.5%) treatment at 90 min and120 min after the meal. The concentration of phtha.ic acid, succinic acid, phenylethylamine, hydrocinnamic acid, iron, linoleic acid, glycerol, ketone, and formamide were increased(P < 0.05) in the BP treatment compared with the WB. The BP treatment with high soluble fiber content improved the constipation index, farrowing duration, and litter performance, while high insoluble fibers increased sows comfort and reduced stress factors including respiratory rate and rectal

Magnetic reconnection processes and their impact on planetary magnetospheric dynamics exhibit significant differences due to differences in upstream solar wind conditions and internal planetary environments. Current understanding of reconnection phenomena at Mercury is rooted in the MESSENGER mission. However, direct detection of reconnection remains rare. Here, we aim to assess the limitations of MESSENGER in detecting reconnection in Mercury's space and to discuss key issues of reconnection tha. will be addressed by BepiColombo, including the dynamics of magnetic flux ropes, particle acceleration, density asymmetric reconnection,IMF-driven near-tail structures, and potential modes of magnetospheric convection.

The non-uniform temperature distribution in supercritical CO_(2)(Sc-CO_(2))fracturing influences the density,viscosity,and volume expansion or shrinkage rate of Sc-CO_(2),impacting proppant *** study presents a coupled computational fluid dynamics-discrete element method and heat transfer model to examine the effects of proppant bed sha.e and the heat transfers of proppant-wall,proppant-fluid,and fluid-wall on the fluid and proppant temperature *** Sc-CO_(2)volume expansion is assessed under various temperature conditions by evaluating the volume-averaged Sc-CO_(2)*** factors,including proppant size,sha.e,thermal conductivity,concentration,temperature difference,and injection velocity,are carefully analyzed to elucidate their *** findings elucidate the existence of four distinct zones in the fluid temperature *** zone exhibits different magnitudes of temperature cha.ge under diverse conditions and undergoes dynamic transformations with the development of the proppant *** fluid-wall heat transfer and the fluid temperatures in Zones C and D are significantly subject to the fluid injection velocity(governing the heating duration),the temperature difference between fluid and formation(impacting the magnitude of heat flux),and the proppant bed sha.e(controlling the effective heating area).Additionally,the proppant-wall and proppant-fluid heat transfers determine the temperatures of both the proppant bed and the fluid within Zone B,showing a strong correlation with proppant thermal conductivity,proppant size,injection velocity,and temperature *** proposed coupled model provides valuable insights into the temperature distributions and flow beha.iors of temperature-dependent fracturing fluids and proppants.

Laser tracers are a three-dimensional coordinate measurement system tha. are widely used in industrial *** propose a geometric error identification method based on multi-station synchronization laser tracers to enable the rapid and high-precision measurement of geometric errors for gantry-type computer numerical control(CNC)machine *** method also improves on the existing measurement efficiency issues in the single-base station measurement method and multi-base station time-sha.ing measurement *** consider a three-axis gantry-type CNC machine tool,and the geometric error mathematical model is derived and established based on the combination of screw theory and a topological analysis of the machine kinematic *** four-station laser tracers position and measurement points are realized based on the multi-point positioning principle.A self-calibration algorithm is proposed for the coordinate calibration process of a laser tracer using the Levenberg-Marquardt nonlinear least squares method,and the geometric error is solved using Taylor’s first-order linearization *** experimental results show tha. the geometric error calculated based on this modeling method is comparable to the results from the Etalon laser *** a volume of 800 mm×1000 mm×350 mm,the maximum differences of the linear,angular,and spatial position errors were 2.0μm,2.7μrad,and 12.0μm,respectively,which verifies the accuracy of the proposed *** research proposes a modeling method for the precise measurement of errors in machine tools,and the applied nature of this study also makes it relevant both to researchers and those in the industrial sector.

The emerging concept of multi-caloric effects, introduced in 2010, entails the application of multiple interplay fields to a thermodynamic system. While multi-caloric effects are the main focus of experimental endeavors, theoretical considerations fall short of providing a thorough understanding. This paper introduces a comprehensive presentation on multi-caloric effects,employing the method and theory of exterior derivative formations. It addresses every aspect of thermodynamic systems, showcasing its applicability to multi-caloric materials(both singlepha.e and multi-pha.e materials), and its adaptability to different scenarios(either in single or multiple force fields). The formulation of Maxwell relationships, cha.acterized by their generality and universality, enables a clear prediction in entropy and temperature, facilitating a distinct identification between independent and interdependent contributions from multi-caloric effects. These insights hold significant importance in designing and developing specialized thermodynamic materials, optimizing functional performances and exploring innovative mecha.isms.
