Hypertension,as the leading modifiable risk factor for cardiovascular disease,represents the top cause of death,with the elderly as the most vulnerable population.[1]In China,>55%of citizens aged≥65 years suffered from hypertension.[2]China will be faced with more severe blood pressure burden in the near future,as the elderly will expect to account for 30%of the total population by 2050.[3]For patients aged≥60 years,isolated systolic hypertension is the most common hypertension subtype,which is defined as a systolic blood pressure(SBP)of≥140 mmHg and a diastolic blood pressure of<90 mmHg.

Cardiovascular diseases(CVDs)are currently the leading cause of global health loss,accounting for one-third of deathsworldwide[1]and estimated tocause7.8million premature deaths in 2025.[2]Hypertension is the top preventablerisk factorofCVDs globally and in China,[2.3]Conservative estimates indicated that the national economic loss due to CVDs in China can reach$8.8 trillion over 2012to2030.[4]Hypertension treatment in Chinese adults aged 35 to 84 years was analyzed to reap savings later for around 800,000 CVDs_events prevention annually and improved the quality of life and economic productivity.

Hypertension is a major risk factor for cardiovascular morbidity and mortality that has led to a huge public health burden.The optimal target of blood pressure(BP)to prevent cardiovascular complications remains unclear.Based on the results of the Systolic BP Intervention Trial(SPRINT)in 2015,the 2017 American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association guidelines for diagnosis and management of high BP in adults has changed the diagnostic threshold from 140/90 to 130/80 mmHg,and the target BP to 130/80 mmHg for nearly all hypertensive patients diagnosed using the new criteria.However,the findings from the SPRINT trial were to an extent contrasting with the results of previous large randomized controlled trials,namely Action to Control Cardiovascular Risk in Diabetes(ACCORD)and Secondary Prevention of Small Subcortical Strokes(SPS3).Besides,the 2018 European Society of Cardiology/European Society of Hypertension guidelines and the 2018 Chinese guidelines have maintained the conventional threshold and recommended target of 140/90 mmHg for most hypertensive patients.Given the special measurement of BP in the SPRINT trial and using an automated measurement system,the intensive systolic BP target of 120 mmHg provided by the SPRINT trial was not widely adopted.Most recently,the Strategy of BP Intervention in the Elderly Hypertensive Patients(STEP)trial,with a higher systolic BP target of 110 to 130 mmHg in the intensive group,confirmed the benefit and safety of intensive BP control in patients with hypertension,in accordance with the SPRINT trial.Here,the results from randomized controlled trials,meta-analyses,and other observational research studies,have been reviewed to evaluate the optimal target of BP treatment and the threshold of diagnostic criteria for hypertension.

Intracellular pH critically affects various biological processes,and an appropriate cytoplasmic pH is essential for ensuring bacterial growth.Glucose is the preferred carbon source for most heterotrophs;however,excess glucose often causes the accumulation of acidic metabolites,lowering the intracellular pH and inhibiting bacterial growth.Bacillus thuringiensis can effectively cope with glucose-induced stress;unfortunately,little is known about the regulators involved in this process.Here,we document that the target of the dual-function sRNA YhfH,the lipR gene,encodes a LacI-family transcription factor LipR as an intracellular pH regulator when B.thuringiensis BMB171 is suddenly exposed to glucose.Under glucose conditions,lipR deletion leads to early growth arrest by causing a rapid decrease in intracellular pH(~5.4).Then,the direct targets and a binding motif(GAWAWCRWTWTCAT)of LipR were identified based on the electrophoretic mobility shift assay,the DNase-I footprinting assay,and RNA sequencing,and the gapN gene encoding a key enzyme in glycolysis was directly inhibited by LipR.Furthermore,Ni^(2+)is considered a possible effector for LipR.In addition to YhfH,the lipR expression was coregulated by itself,CcpA,and AbrB.Our study reveals that LipR plays a balancing role between glucose metabolism and intracellular pH in B.thuringiensis subjected to glucose stress.

As an important element of urban renewal in highly urbanized areas, pocket parks with small size, flexible layout and daily accessibility are becoming a major component of green infrastructure and the mainstay of outdoor recreation space expansion in high-density urban centers. Nevertheless, the absence of a comprehensive framework for evaluating the potential of pocket park construction (PPC), one that integrates diverse influencing factors on a macro scale, has resulted in the random installation of such spaces, often failing to optimize the utilization of urban land. Addressing this critical lacuna, we propose an approach to evaluate PPC potential from a city-scale perspective, which is used to support the determination of which land units should be prioritized for PPC. A complete and feasible workflow was also established to identify potential land units, construct an index system for PPC combining demand and supply levels, quantitatively calculate indices based on remote sensing (RS) and geographic information system (GIS), accurately evaluate PPC potential using an entropy-weighted TOPSIS model, and develop targeted renewal strategies. A case study in Dalian, China, demonstrated the applicability and implications of the workflow. The results showed that it is flexible and easy to adapt to different local contexts, allowing evaluators to introduce parameters considering the availability of local data, and will help decision makers to build pocket parks in the most effective plots, providing a strong reference for high-quality development in other high-density urban centers facing the contradiction between ecological construction and land scarcity.

Local-State Routing in Satellite Constellation Networks from the Perspective of Complex Network

Routing algorithms in satellite constellation networks usually make use of the local state information to adapt to the topology and traffic dynamics,since it’s difficult to obtain the global states in time due to the spatial large-scale feature of constellation networks.Furthermore,they use different range of local states and give these states distinct weights.However,the behind design criterion is ambiguous and often based on experience.This paper discusses the problem from the perspective of complex network.A universal local-state routing model with tunable parameters is presented to generalize the common characteristics of local-state routing algorithms for satellite constellation networks.Based on this,the impacts of localstate routing algorithms on performance and the correlation between routing and traffic dynamics are analyzed in detail.Among them,the tunable parameters,the congestion propagation process,the critical packet sending rate,and the network robustness are discussed respectively.Experimental results show that routing algorithms can achieve a satisfactory performance by maintaining a limited state awareness capability and obtaining the states in a range below the average path length.This provides a valuable design basis for routing algorithms in satellite constellation networks.

In this paper,the bilinear formalism,bilinear B?cklund transformations and Lax pair of the(2+1)-dimensional KdV equation are constructed by the Bell polynomials approach.The N-soliton solution is derived directly from the bilinear form.Especially,based on the two-soliton solution,the lump solution is given out analytically by taking special parameters and using Taylor expansion formula.With the help of the multidimensional Riemann theta function,multiperiodic(quasiperiodic)wave solutions for the(2+1)-dimensional KdV equation are obtained by employing the Hirota bilinear method.Moreover,the asymptotic properties of the one-and two-periodic wave solution,which reveal the relations with the single and two-soliton solution,are presented in detail.

Metal nanoparticles have been used as antibacterial agents widely,and the combined use of enzymes and metal nanoparticles promotes antibacterial activity,achieving a synergistic effect.Additionally,enzymes decrease the amounts of metals and increase biocompatibility,thereby reducing toxicity of metals.However,the efficiency of enzymes is hindered when coupled with metals,which causes deactivation in the function of enzymes.How can a balance be struck between metals and enzymes?Although the antibacterial mechanism of metal nanoparticles is relatively clear,how enzyme-metal nanocomposites work against bacteria is not conclusive.Here,we describe several examples on the synthesis of enzyme-metal nanocomposites via co-immobilization or in situ reduction and summarize how enzyme-metal nanocomposites combat microorganisms.

Spectral-spatial Gabor filtering(GF),a robust feature extraction tool,has been widely investigated for hyperspectral image(HSI)classification.Recently,a new type of GF method,named phase-induced GF,which showed great potential for HSI feature extraction,was proposed.Although this new type of GF possibly better explores the frequency characteristics of HSIs,with a new parameter added,it generates a much larger amount of features,yielding redundancies and noises,and is therefore risky to severely deteriorate the efficiency and accuracy of classification.To tackle this problem,we fully exploit phase-induced Gabor features efficiently,proposing an efficient phase-induced Gabor cube selection and weighted fusion(EPCS-WF)method for HSI classification.Specifically,to eliminate the redundancies and noises,we first select the most representative Gabor cubes using a newly designed energy-based phase-induced Gabor cube selection(EPCS)algorithm before feeding them into classifiers.Then,a weighted fusion(WF)strategy is adopted to integrate the mutual information residing in different feature cubes to generate the final predictions.Our experimental results obtained on four well-known HSI datasets demonstrate that the EPCS-WF method,while only adopting four selected Gabor cubes for classification,delivers better performance as compared with other Gabor-based methods.The code of this work is available at https://***/cairlin5/EPCS-WF-hyperspectral-image-classification for the sake of reproducibility.

Reinsurance is an effective way for an insurance company to control its risk.How to design an optimal reinsurance contract is not only a key topic in actuarial science,but also an interesting research question in mathematics and statistics.Optimal reinsurance design problems can be proposed from different perspectives.Risk measures as tools of quantitative risk management have been extensively used in insurance and finance.Optimal reinsurance designs based on risk measures have been widely studied in the literature of insurance and become an active research topic.Different research approaches have been developed and many interesting results have been obtained in this area.These approaches and results have potential applications in future research.In this article,we review the recent advances in optimal reinsurance designs based on risk measures in static models and discuss some interesting problems on this topic for future research.
