High temperature electrochemical energy conversion and storage technologies,such as solid oxide electrochemical cells (SOCs),have emerged as promising alternatives to mitigate environmental issues associated with combustion-based *** has been increased interest for nanoengineering SOC electrodes to enhance their efficiency.A major drive is the necessity for improved electrode kinetics via optimization of electrocatalysts for different key reactions in these *** this perspective,we discuss the requirements for SOC electrodes and nanoengineering strategies employed to achieve flexibility in electrode *** focus on identifying ways in which these nanoengineered materials foster advancements in the SOC electrocatalytic activity,selectivity,and *** conclude by proposing approaches that would lead to more stable electrocatalytic nanostructures with high degree of control over the number and nature of active *** nanostructures would enable systematic kinetic studies that could provide an in depth understanding of the reaction mechanisms that govern performance,leading to valuable knowledge for designing optimal electrode materials.

Genotoxic Effect of Phenol on the Cells of Onion (Allium cepa) Roots

The roots of onion (Allium cepa) stand out for having cells with large size and small number of *** characteristics make them useful in bioassays for the measurement of a variety of cytogenetic and morphological parameters , in which they can be used as toxicity indicators of the induction and formation of micronuclei and chromosomal *** on this background , the potential genotoxic effect of phenol concentration on cells of *** was investigated either in terms of induced aberrations or micronuclei *** results demonstrated that the higher the concentration of phenol , the higher the incidence of abnormalities , thus confirming the genotoxicity of this pollutant.

Assessment of the Anaerobic Speed Reserve during Specific High-Intensity Exercise in Judo Athletes

Purpose This study aimed to describe self-selected intensity and its relationship to performance during a high-intensity all-out judo protocol,and to verify whether athletes with different anaerobic speed reserve(ASR)perform differently during a high-intensity all-out interval uchi-komi(judo-specific skill).Methods We analyzed the performance of 28 judo athletes as a whole group and divided into groups,according to their *** performed several judo-specific protocols using a specific skill:maximal speed sprint(MSS)and maximal aerobic speed(MAS),and high-intensity intermittent uchi-komi protocol(12×20 s all-out:10 s passive recovery).Results The main results demonstrated a decrease in the number of repetitions and an increase in heart rate across the *** with greater ASR performed a higher number of repetitions,compared to the low ASR group,and they were able to exercise at a higher percentage of the MAS(low ASR=126%;SD=13%;high ASR=152%,SD=l9%)and at a lower percentage of MSS compared to the low ASR group(low ASR=84%,SD=7%;high ASR=76%,SD=11%).However,both groups exercised at a similar percentage of their own ASR during the protocol(low ASR=50%,SD=20%;high ASR=53%,SD=19%).Conclusions Athletes with different ASR seem to set their pace at around 50%of their ASR within an all-out uchi-komi ***,the ASR is useful for predicting performance during high-intensity judo-specific interval exercise intervals.

Detection of Patients at Risk of MultidrugResistant Enterobacteriaceae Infection Using Graph Neural Networks:A Retrospective Study

Background:While Enterobacteriaceae bacteria are commonly found in the healthy human gut,their colonization of other body parts can potentially evolve into serious infections and health *** investigate a graph-based machine learning model to predict risks of inpatient colonization by multidrug-resistant(MDR)***:Colonization prediction was defined as a binary task,where the goal is to predict whether a patient is colonized by MDR Enterobacteriaceae in an undesirable body part during their hospital *** capture topological features,interactions among patients and healthcare workers were modeled using a graph structure,where patients are described by nodes and their interactions are described by ***,a graph neural network(GNN)model was trained to learn colonization patterns from the patient network enriched with clinical and spatiotemporal ***:The GNN model achieves performance between 0.91 and 0.96 area under the receiver operating characteristic curve(AUROC)when trained in inductive and transductive settings,respectively,up to 8%above a logistic regression baseline(0.88).Comparing network topologies,the configuration considering ward-related edges(0.91 inductive,0.96 transductive)outperforms the configurations considering caregiver-related edges(0.88,0.89)and both types of edges(0.90,0.94).For the top 3 most prevalent MDR Enterobacteriaceae,the AUROC varies from 0.94 for Citrobacter freundii up to 0.98 for Enterobacter cloacae using the best-performing GNN ***:Topological features via graph modeling improve the performance of machine learning models for Enterobacteriaceae colonization *** could be used to support infection prevention and control programs to detect patients at risk of colonization by MDR Enterobacteriaceae and other bacteria families.

Intestinal neuronal dysplasia type B(IND-B)is a controversial condition among gastrointestinal neuromuscular *** is its most common clinical manifestation in *** intense scientific research,there are still knowledge gaps regarding the diagnostic criteria for IND-B in the histopathological analysis of rectal *** guidelines published in the past three decades have directed diagnostic criteria for quantifying the number of ganglion cells in the nervous plexus of the enteric nervous ***,it is very complex to distinguish numerically what is pathological from what is normal,mainly because of the difficulty in determining a reliable control group composed of healthy children without intestinal ***,a series of immunohistochemical markers have been proposed to assist in the histopathological analysis of the enteric nervous *** of these markers facilitate the identification of other structures of the enteric nervous system,in addition to ganglion *** structures may be related to the etiopathogenesis of IND-B and represent new possibilities for the histopathological diagnosis of this disease,providing a view beyond the number of ganglion *** review critically discusses the aspects related to the disease definitions and diagnostic criteria of this organic cause of constipation.

Screening of Environmental Bacterial Strains for Wild Aedes Mosquito Larval Biocontrol

The effectiveness of current control measures against Aedes mosquitoes remains low, resulting in persistent epidemics in urban areas. The emergence of resistant mosquito populations to chemical insecticides highlights the need for novel, environmentally friendly, cost-effective control strategies. This study explored the potential of environmental bacterial isolates to biocontrol wild Aedes larvae. Initially, we collected bacterial samples from infectious masses of Aedes fluviatilis larvae. The isolated bacteria were identified using biochemical, enzymatic, and molecular methods, including 16S rRNA sequencing and MALDI-TOF. Previously, Aeromonas hydrophila and Bacillus thuringiensis isolated from these infectious masses showed limited Aedes larval inhibition. Consequently, we screened additional environmental isolates from the bacteriotheque. Six isolates previously identified were tested: Chromobacterium violaceum, Enterobacter cloacae, Bacillus cereus, Bacillus sphaericus, and two strains of Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis. Among these strains, B. thuringiensis and C. violaceum exhibited significant inhibitory activities against wild Aedes larvae. Bacillus thuringiensis cultures grown under daylight conditions showed a slight ability to inhibit Aedes larvae. The potential of B. thuringiensis and C. violaceum strains studied, along with optimized culture growth conditions, will be further investigated to develop bioinsecticide products to provide safer and more sustainable alternatives for controlling larvae of Aedes mosquitoes.

应用具有决策支持系统(DSS)功能的SEDAM模型模拟黄河上游惠农引黄灌区的灌溉需求与渠系输配水状况,利用节水多准则分析方法评价农田与输配水系统的改善方案。以田间实测的各类典型数据资料为基础,采用随机方法生成与田间和各级渠道相关的数据,产生用于多准则分析的属性数据和性能指标。根据不同水平的与农田及输配水系统相关的决策变量,设计了8种用于改善农田与输配水系统的模拟方案,通过模拟的需水量与现状供水量之间的对比以及模拟的各类效用值随时间变化的趋势,对模拟结果进行分析。结果表明,采用改善的农田与输配水系统运行方案可有效地减少惠农灌区的灌溉弃水和渠系输水渗漏量,较好地控制田间深层渗漏与地表径流损失,达到节水增产、改善农田生态环境的目的。

Quadruple therapy with furazolidone for retreatment in patients with peptic ulcer disease

AIM: To establish the efficacy and safety of a 7-d therapeutic regimen using omeprazole,bismuth subcitrate,furazolidone and amoxicillin in patients with peptic ulcer disease who had been previously treated with other therapeutic regimens without ***: Open cohort study which included patients with peptic ulcer who had previously been treated unsuccessfully with one or more eradication *** therapeutic regimen consisted of 20 mg omeprazole,240 mg colloidal bismuth subcitrate,1000 mg amoxicillin,and 200 mg furazolidone,taken twice a day for 7 *** were considered as eradicated when samples taken from the gastric antrum and corpus 12 wk after the end of treatment were negative for Helicobacter pylori (H pylori) (rapid urease test and histology).Safety was determined by the presence of adverse ***: Fifty-one patients were *** eradication rate was 68.8% (31/45).Adverse effects were reported by 31.4% of the patients,and these were usually considered to be slight or moderate in the majority of the *** patients had to withdraw from the treatment due to the presence of severe adverse ***: The association of bismuth,furazolidone,amoxicillin and a proton-pump inhibitor is a valuable alternative for patients who failed to respond to other eradication *** is an effective,cheap and safe option for salvage therapy of positive patients.
