Visible Light Communication for Vehicular Applications: A Novel Architecture with Proof-of-Concept Prototype

When there is an increasing interest in visible light communication(VLC), outdoor vehicle VLC has emerged as a promising candidate technology for future intelligent transportation systems. However, in VLC based vehicular applications, several challenges impede successful commercial application of VLC based products. This article first provides a thorough overview of the existing challenges. To overcome these challenges, we propose a novel architecture with tracking and environment sensing ability for practical vehicular applications. Moreover, a proof-ofconcept prototype is implemented to validate the feasibility of the proposed system. Experimental and simulation results show that the proposed VLC system can provide reliable communications with a bit-error rate less than 10-4for vehicles under strong interference lights. Finally, based on the evaluations, we propose some key design issues for future studies in this research area.

荻草谷网蚜Sitobion miscanthi是严重威胁我国小麦生产安全的迁飞性害虫。蜕皮激素是参与蚜虫翅型分化调控的内激素,在有翅成蚜体内保持高滴度,且诱导后代产生更高比例的无翅蚜,其进出靶细胞需要经过细胞膜上特定蛋白的转运。ATP结合盒转运蛋白家族G亚家族(ATP-binding cassette transporter G, ABCG)中的ABCG1是通过跨膜转运昆虫类固醇、对蜕皮激素信号进行负调控的功能蛋白之一,在蚜虫中尚未见报道。本文克隆了荻草谷网蚜ABCG1(SmisABCG1)基因,并进行了序列比对、系统进化分析以及不同组织部位和发育时期表达模式分析。结果显示,SmisABCG1基因的开放阅读框全长为1 851 bp,编码616个氨基酸,含7个跨膜结构域,符合ABCG蛋白家族典型结构特性,基因登录ID:OP626323。昆虫间ABCG1较保守,该蛋白系统进化关系与各自物种间亲缘关系的远近保持一致。其中,SmisABCG1与来自豌豆蚜、禾谷缢管蚜、棉蚜、花生蚜和雪松长足大蚜等的ABCG1氨基酸序列高度一致(>87%),以上蚜虫聚为一支。与SmisABCG1亲缘关系最近的是豌豆蚜的ABCG1,其次是半翅目的褐飞虱、白背飞虱和灰飞虱,与膜翅目的新疆菜叶蜂、阿里山潜蝇茧蜂以及鞘翅目的赤拟谷盗、蜂箱小甲虫亲缘关系较远。该基因在伪胚胎和成蚜阶段高表达。包含伪胚胎的有翅、无翅成蚜整蚜SmisABCG1的转录水平无显著差异,但其在来自有翅成蚜的伪胚胎中的转录水平高于无翅成蚜伪胚胎,证实无翅成蚜自身的转录水平较高,而有翅成蚜较低。进一步分析显示这一差异主要是无翅蚜胸部显著高表达所导致。基于该蛋白对蜕皮激素负调控,与有翅成蚜转录水平低,但蜕皮激素水平更高相符合。

α-diversity describes species diversity at local *** Simpson’s and Shannon-Wiener indices are widely used to characterizeα-diversity based on species abundances within a fixed study site(e.g.,a quadrat or plot).Although such indices provide overall diversity estimates that can be analyzed,their values are not spatially continuous nor applicable in theory to any point within the study region,and thus they cannot be treated as spatial covariates for analyses of other ***,we extended the Simpson’s and Shannon-Wiener indices to create point estimates ofα-diversity for any location based on spatially explicit species occurrences within different bandwidths(i.e.,radii,with the location of interest as the center).For an arbitrary point in the study region,species occurrences within the circle plotting the bandwidth were weighted according to their distance from the center using a tri-cube kernel function,with occurrences closer to the center having greater weight than more distant *** novel kernel-basedα-diversity indices were tested using a tree dataset from a 400 m×400 m study region comprising a 200 m×200 m core region surrounded by a 100-m width buffer *** newly extendedα-diversity indices did not disagree qualitatively with the traditional indices,and the former were slightly lower than the latter by<2%at medium and large band *** present work demonstrates the feasibility of using kernel-basedα-diversity indices to estimate diversity at any location in the study region and allows them to be used as quantifiable spatial covariates or predictors for other dependent variables of interest in future ecological *** continuousα-diversity indices are useful to compare and monitor species trends in space and time,which is valuable for conservation practitioners.

Ceria-based single-atom catalysts present complex electronic structures due to the dynamic electron transfer between the metal atoms and the semiconductor oxide *** these materials implies retrieving all states in these electronic ensembles,which can be limiting if done via density functional ***,we propose a data-driven approach to obtain a parsimonious model identifying the appearance of dynamic charge transfer for the single atoms(SAs).We first constructed a database of(701)electronic configurations for the group 9–11 metals on CeO_(2)(100).Feature Selection based on predictive Elastic Net and Random Forest models highlights eight fundamental variables:atomic number,ionization potential,size,and metal coordination,metal–oxygen bond strengths,surface strain,and Coulomb *** these variables a Bayesian algorithm yields an expression for the adsorption energies of SAs in ground and low-lying excited *** work paves the way towards understanding electronic structure complexity in metal/oxide interfaces.

In this paper, we investigate secure communication in a two-hop wireless network, where multiple buffer-aided relays assist to securely forward data from the sender to the destination threatened by a passive eavesdropper. To satisfy the security and delay requirements, we propose a novel link selection policy without the instantaneous wiretap channel state information. Different from the most current link selection policies,the proposed link selection policy is designed by joint considering the link secrecy outage probability and the buffer states. To evaluate the secrecy performance, we first characterize the system state transition matrix and the stationary state probability, and then derive the closed-form expressions for the secrecy outage probability and the secrecy rate. Moreover, we formulate a framework based on the queuing theory to analyze the end-to-end information delay at the source, the relays, and the queues, and derive the closed-form expression for the information delay. Finally, we conduct simulations to validate our theoretical performance analysis, and verify the performance improvement of the proposed outage-driven secure transmission scheme in terms of secrecy outage probability and information delay.
