Although the fossil record of non-avian dinosaurs from the Cretaceous of Antarctica is the poorest of any continent,fossils representing at least five major taxonomic groups(Ankylosauria,early-diverging Ornithopoda,Hadrosauridae,Titanosauria,and Theropoda)have been *** come from Upper Cretaceous(Coniacian–Maastrichtian)marine and nearshore deposits belonging to the Gustav and Marambio groups of the James Ross Basin at the northern tip of the Antarctic *** majority of these finds have come from the Campanian–Maastrichtian Snow Hill Island and López de Bertodano formations of James Ross and Vega *** the rarity of Antarctic Cretaceous non-avian dinosaurs,discoveries of any fossils of these archosaurs,no matter how meager,are of *** we describe fragmentary new ornithischian(ankylosaur and ornithopod)material from the upper Campanian–lower Maastrichtian Cape Lamb Member of the Snow Hill Island Formation and the Maastrichtian Sandwich Bluff Member of the López de Bertodano *** of these specimens is considered to probably pertain to the holotypic individual of the early-diverging ornithopod morrosaurus *** also provide an up-to-date synthesis of the Late Cretaceous non-avian dinosaur record of the James Ross Basin and analyze the biostratigraphic occurrences of the various finds,demonstrating that most(including all named taxa and all reasonably complete skeletons discovered to date)occur within a relatively condensed temporal interval of the late Campanian to early *** or all James Ross Basin dinosaurs share close affinities with penecontemporaneous taxa from Patagonia,indicating that at least some continental vertebrates could disperse between southern South America and Antarctica during the final stages of the Mesozoic.

AIM:To investigate all patients referred to our center with non-responsive celiac disease (NRCD),to establish a cause for their continued ***:We assessed all patients referred to our center with non-responsive celiac disease over an 18-mo *** individuals were investigated to establish the eitiology of their continued *** patients were first seen in clinic where a thorough history and examination were performed with routine blood work including tissue transglutaminase antibody *** were also referred to a specialist gastroenterology dietician to try to identift any lapses in the diet and sources of hidden gluten ingestion.A repeat small intestinal biopsy was also performed and compared to biopsies from the referring hospital where ***,lactulose hydrogen breath testing,pancreolauryl testing and computed tomography scan of the abdomen were undertaken if the symptoms *** clinical progress was followed over a minimum of 2 ***:One hundred and twelve consecutive patients were referred with *** were found not to have celiac disease (CD).Of the remaining 100 patients,45% were not adequately adhering to a strict gluten-free diet,with 24 (53%) found to be inadvertently ingesting gluten,and 21 (47%) admitting *** colitis was diagnosed in 12% and small bowel bacterial overgrowth in 9%.Refractory CD was diagnosed in 9%.Three of these were diagnosed with intestinal *** 2 years,78 patients remained well,eight had continuing symptoms,and four had ***:In individuals with NRCD,a remediable cause can be found in 90%:with continued gluten ingestion as the leading *** propose an algorithm for investigation.

AIM： To study the efficacy, safety, and feasibility of a granulocyte adsorptive type apheresis system for the treatment of patients with chronically active ulcerative colitis despite standard therapy. METHODS： An open label multicenter study was carried out in 39 patients with active ulcerative colitis （CAI 6-8） despite continuous use of steroids （a minimum total dose of 400 mg prednisone within the last 4 wk）. Patients received a total of five aphereses using a granulocyte adsorptive technique （Adacolumn, Otsuka Pharmaceutical Europe, UK）. Assessments at wk 6 and during follow-up until 4 mo comprised clinical （CAI） and endoscopic （EI） activity index, histology, quality of life （IBDQ）, and laboratory tests. RESULTS： Thirty-five out of thirty-nine patients were qualified for intent-to-treat analysis. After the apheresis treatment at wk 6, 13/35 （37.1%） patients achieved clinical remission and 10/35 （28.6%） patients had endoscopic remission （CAI〈4, EI〈4）. Quality of life （IBDQ） increased significantly （24 points, P〈0.01） at wk 6. Apheresis could be performed in all but one patient. Aphereses were well tolerated, only one patient experienced anemia. CONCLUSION： In patients with steroid refractory ulcerative colitis, five aphereses with a granulocyte/ monocyte depleting filter show potential short-term efficacy. Tolerability and technical feasibility of the procedure are excellent.

AIM: To evaluate the effect of resistance to activated protein C (aPCR), the most common known inherited thrombophilic disorder, on the risk of intestinal operation of fi brostenosis in patients with Crohn’s disease (CD). METHODS: In a previous study, we assessed the prevalence of aPCR in CD. In a retrospective case- controlled study, 8 of these CD patients with aPCR were now compared with 24 CD patients without aPCR, matched by gender, age at diagnosis and duration of disease in a 1:3 fashion. The primary end point was the occurrence of an intestinal CD-related operation with evidence of fibrostenosis in the bowel resection specimen. RESULTS: The Kaplan-Meier analysis revealed that patients with aPCR had a lower probability of remaining free of operation with f ibrostenosis than patients without aPCR (P = 0.0372; exact log-rank test) resulting in a signifi cantly shorter median time interval from diagnosis of CD to the fi rst operation with fi brostenosis (32 vs 160 mo). At 10 years, the likelihood of remaining free of operation with fi brostenosis was 25% for patients with aPCR and 57.8% for patients without aPCR. CONCLUSION: CD patients with aPCR are at higher risk to undergo intestinal operation of fi brostenosis than those without aPCR. This supports our hypothesis of aPCR being a possible risk factor for fi brostenosis in CD.

Background： The goal of this study was to compare the antagonism of elevated dietary Cu （250 mg/kg） from CuS04 on three different Zn sources （ZnS04. H20; [Zn bis（-2-hydroxy-4-（methylthio）butanoic acid）], Zn（HMTBa）2 a chelated Zn methionine hydroxy analogue; and Zn-Methionine）, as measured using multiple indices of animal performance in ROSS 308 broilers. Methods： Three experiments were conducted in broiler chicks fed a semi-purified diet. All birds were fed a Zn-deficient diet （8.5 mg/kg diet） for 1 wk, and then provided with the experimental diets for 2 wks. Results： Experiment 1 was a 2 x 2 factorial design with two levels of Cu （8 vs. 250 mg/kg diet from CuSO4） and two Zn sources at 30 mg/kg [ZnSO4. H20 vs. Zn（HMTBa）2]. Elevated Cu impaired growth performance only in birds fed ZnSO4. Compared to ZnSO4. H20, Zn（HMTBa）2 improved feed intake （12 %; P 〈 0.001） and weight gain （12 %, P 〈 0.001） and the benefits were more pronounced in the presence of 250 mg/kg diet Cu. Experiment 2 was a dose titration of ZnSO4- H20 and Zn（HMTBa）2 at 30, 4,5, 60, and 75 mg/kg diet in the presence of 250 mg/kg CuSO4. Feed：gain was decreased and tibia Zn was increased with increasing Zn levels from 30 to 75 mg/kg. Birds fed Zn（HMTBa）2 consumed more food and gained more weight compared to birds fed ZnSO4, especially at lower supplementation levels （30 and 45 mg/kg; interaction P 〈 0,05）. Experiment 3 compared two organic Zn sources （Zn（HMTBa）2 vs. Zn-Methionine） at 30 mg/kg with or without 250 mg/kg CuSO4. No interactions were observed between Zn sources and Cu levels on performance or tissue mineral concentrations. High dietary Cu decreased weight gain （P 〈 0.01）. Tibia Cu and liver Cu were significantly increased with 250 mg/kg dietary Cu supplementation （P 〈 0.01）. No difference was observed between the two Zn sources. Conclusions： Dietary 250 mg/kg Cu significantly impaired feed intake and weight gain in birds fed ZnSO4. H20, but had less impact in birds fed Zn（HMTBa）2. No difference

Clinical management of acute liver failure: Results of an international multi-center survey

AIM To assess the practice of caring for acute liver failure(ALF) patients in varying geographic locations and medical *** Members of the European Acute Liver Failure Consortium completed an 88-item questionnaire detailing management of ALF. Responses from 22 transplantation centers in 11 countries were analyzed,treating between 300 and 500 ALF cases and performing over 100 liver transplants(LT) for ALF annually. The questions pertained to details of the institution and their clinical activity,standards of care,referral and admission,wardbased care versus intensive care unit(ICU) as well as questions regarding liver transplantation- including criteria,limitations,and perceived performance. Clinical data was also collected from 13 centres over a 3 mo period. RESULTS The interval between referral and admission of ALF patients to specialized units was usually less than 24 h and once admitted,treatment was provided by a multidisciplinary team. Principles of care of patients with ALF were similar among centers,particularly in relation to recognition of severity and care of the more critically ill. Centers exhibited similarities in thresholds for ICU admission and management of severe hepatic encephalopathy. Over 80% of centers administered n-acetyl-cysteine to ICU patients for non-paracetamolrelated ALF. There was significant divergence in the use of prophylactic antibiotics and anti-fungals,lactulose,nutritional support and imaging investigations in admitted patients and in the monitoring and treatment of intra-cranial pressure(ICP). ICP monitoring was employed in 12 centers,with the most common indications being papilledema and renal failure. most patients listed for transplantation underwent surgery within an average waiting time of 1-2 d. Over a period of 3 mo clinical data from 85 ALF patients was collected. Overall patient survival at 90-d was 76%. AIM： To report the clinical impact of adrenal endoscop-ic ultrasound fine-needle aspiration （EUS-FNA） in the evaluation of patients with adrenal gland enlargement or ***： In a retrospective single-center case-series, patients undergoing EUS-FNA of either adrenal gland from 1997-2011 in our tertiary care center were included. Medical records were reviewed and results of EUS, cytology, adrenal size change on follow-up imag-ing ≥ 6 mo after EUS and any repeat EUS or surgery were abstracted. A lesion was considered benign if：（1） EUS-FNA cytology was benign and the lesion remained 〈 1 cm from its original size on follow-up computed tomography （CT）, magnetic resonance imaging or repeat EUS ≥ 6 mo after EUS-FNA; or （2） subsequent adrenalectomy and surgical pathology was benign. RESULTS： Ninety-four patients had left （n = 90） and/or right （n = 5） adrenal EUS-FNA without adverse events. EUS indications included： cancer staging or suspected recurrence （n = 31）, pancreatic （n = 20）, medi-astinal （n = 10）, adrenal （n = 7）, lung （n = 7） mass or other indication （n = 19）. Diagnoses after adrenal EUS-FNA included metastatic lung （n = 10）, esophageal （n= 5）, colon （n = 2）, or other cancer （n = 8）; benign primary adrenal mass or benign tissue （n = 60）; or was non-diagnostic （n = 9）. Available follow-up confrmed a benign lesion in 5/9 non-diagnostic aspirates and 32/60 benign aspirates. Four of the 60 benign aspirates were later confrmed as malignant by repeat biopsy, follow-up CT, or adrenalectomy. Adrenal EUS-FNA diagnosed metastatic cancer in 24, and ruled out metastasis in 10 patients. For the diagnosis of malignancy, EUS-FNA of either adrenal had sensitivity, specifcity, positive predic-tive value and negative predictive value of 86%, 97%, 96% and 89%, ***： Adrenal gland EUS-FNA is safe, mini-mally invasive and a sensitive technique with signifcant impact in the management of adrenal gland mass or enlargement.
