Detecting lithium plating dynamics in a solid-state battery with operando X-ray computed tomography using machine learning

The wheeled robots have become the interesting and important training kits for students to learn to integrate those skills about hardware circuit designs, firmware programming, motion control, and path planning techniques in these past days. Therefore, a novel line maze robot kit with diagonal path planning capabilities is presented as an example in this paper to help students. The robot uses a 32-bit microcontroller with floating point processing unit to 1) detect the track curve by using optical sensors, 2) use gyro sensor to correct moving angles, 3) control the linear and angular velocities of the robot, and 4) plan a diagonal path from the start to the target. Although students could learn the abovementioned topics in a special topic project, they may also design their own mechanical structures and hardware circuits to improve furthermore the performance of their robots, and they are happy to join to win prizes in related contests.

Carbon nanotubes/polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) nanocomposite membranes (abbreviated as CPMs) were fabricated to study their physicochemical property and separation efficiency of organic pollutants such as benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and methylbenzene (abbreviated as BTEX) from aqueous solutions. The rejection coeffi-cients (R) of BTEX depend on the CNT content of CPM, pore size of membrane, molecule size of BTEX, permeation pressure (P), feed concentration (Csub>fsub>) and temperature. The CNT contents were 5%, 10% and 15% in CPM have been conducted. The 10% CNT content of CPM (10-CPM) has not only higher water flux but also the relatively higher R as comparing of 5% and 15% CNT of CPM. The R decreased with increasing P, Csub>fsub> and temperature but has no significant influence on ionic strength (μ). The R of BTEX were found in the order as B ≈ X which revealed the major mechanism of BTEX separation with CPM was related to molecule size of BTEX (B ≈ X). It exhibits that the size exclusion plays the important role in BTEX separation. According to the result of separation of BTEX by 10-CPM, the R of BTEX not only have above 80% with relative lower pressure but also have higher water flux as compared of other nano-filtration. This suggests that the 10-CPMs possess good potential for BTEX removal in wastewater treatment.

BACKGROUND In the development of coronary stent technology,bioresorbable scaffolds are promising milestones in improving the clinical treatment of coronary artery ***“leave nothing behind”motto is the premise of the fourth revolution in percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI).Studies proving the safety and efficacy of the magnesium-based resorbable scaffolds(MgBRSs)include the BIOSOLVE-I and BIOSOLVE-II trials and the latest BIOSOLVE-IV ***,spontaneous retrograde dissection of a partially absorbed MgBRS may still occur,albeit *** suMMARY We describe an unusual case of coronary artery disease in a patient who had undergone a successful PCI 8 mo earlier,where an MgBRS was implanted into the left anterior descending artery(LAD)and left circumflex artery with drug-coated balloons for a ramus intermedius branch stenosis to achieve the“leave nothing behind”therapeutic intention and was currently presenting with a gradual worsening of chest *** distal edge vascular response,during subsequent attempts with balloon angioplasty was performed ***,spontaneous retrograde dissection of a partially absorbed MgBRS in the LAD *** bailout stenting was performed with revascularization of the entry and exit sites created by spontaneous dissection and complete sealing of the intramural *** patient recovered well and was discharged after 2 d of *** followed up in August 2020(7 mo later),the patient showed uneventful *** Spontaneous retrograde dissection of a partially absorbed MgBRS was successfully treated using bailout sirolimus-eluting coronary stent strategy.

Testosterone replacement therapy has benefits for aging men and those with hypogonadism. However, the effects of exogenous testosterone on Leydig cells are still unclear and need to be clarified. In this report, we demonstrate that testosterone supplementation can reduce oxidative damage in Leydig cells. The TM3 Leydig cell line was used as an in vitrocell model in this study. Cytoprotective effects were identified with 100-nmol l-1 testosterone treatment, but cytotoxic effects were found with ≥ 500-nmol l-1 testosterone supplementation. Significantly reduced reactive oxygen species （ROS） generation, lipid peroxide contents and hypoxia induction factor （HIF）-lα stabilization and activation were found with lO0-nmol 1-1 testosterone treatment. There was a 1.72-fold increase in ROS generation in the 500-nmol l-1 compared to the lO0-nmol l-1 testosterone treatment. A 1.58-fold increase in steroidogenic acute regulatory protein （STAR） expression was found in 50-nmol l-1 testosterone-treated cells （P〈0.01）. Chemically induced hypoxia was attenuated by testosterone supplementation. Leydig cells treated with low-dose testosterone supplementation showed cytoprotection by decreasing ROS and lipid peroxides, increasing StAR expression and relieving hypoxia stress as demonstrated by HIF-1α stabilization. Increased oxidative damage was found with ≥ 500-nmol l-1 testosterone manipulation. The mechanism governing the differential dose effects of testosterone on Leydig cells needs further investigation in order to shed light on testosterone replacement therapy.

AIM: To explore both the in vitro and in vivo effects of denbinobin against colon cancer cells and clarify its underlying signal pathways. METHODS: We used COLO 205 cancer cell lines and nude mice xenograft model to study the in vitro and in vivo anti-cancer effects of denbinobin. REsuLTS: Denbinobin at concentration of 10-20 μmol/L dose-dependently suppressed COLO 205 cell proliferation by MTT test. Flow cytometry analysis and DNA fragmentation assay revealed that 10-20 μmol/L denbinobin treatment induced COLO 205 cells apoptosis. Western blot analysis showed that caspases 3,8,9 and Bid protein were activated by denbinobin treatment to COLO 205 cells accompanied with cytochrome c and apoptosis-inducing factor (AIF) translocation. Pretreatment of MEK 1 inhibitor (U10126), but not p38 inhibitor (SB203580) and JNK inhibitor (SP600125), reversed denbinobin-induced caspase 8, 9 and Bid activation in COLO 205 cells suggesting that extracellular signal-regulated kinase were involved in the denbinobin-induced apoptosis in COLO 205 cells. Significant regression of tumor up to 68% was further demonstrated in vivo by treating nude mice bearing COLO 205 tumor xenografts with denbinobin 50 mg/kg intraperitoneally. CONCLUSION: Our findings suggest that denbinobin could inhibit colon cancer growth both in vitro and in vivo. Activation of extrinsic and intrinsic apoptotic pathways and AIF were involved in the denbinobin-induced COLO 205 cell apoptosis.
