Emulsion electrospinning as a novel process in spinning core-sheath fibers shows a promising potential in drug release control. The volume ratio of water phase to oily phase is one of the critical parameters in forming core-sheath fibers. In this study, water phase was presented by hydrophilic tetracycline hydrochloride and oily phase by hydrophobic poly （E-caprolactone）（PCL）. The effects of volume ratios of water phase to oily phase on fiber morphology and in vitro drug release were investigated. Scanning electron microscopy （ SEM ）, transmission electron microscopy （ TEM）, and eonfoeal laser scanning microscopy（CLSM） were used to observe the morphology, *** structure of the fibers and drug loading in the fibers, respectively. Samples of three different volume ratios of water phase to oily phase, 1： 25, 1：15, and 1：10, were prepared with the same concentration of drug solution. Experiment results showed that, with an increase in the volume ratios of water phase to oily phase, the fiber diameter increased and diameter distribution scattered. The drug entrapment efficiency of the fibers reduces with the increase in volume ratios, L e. , from 73.48 % in the ratio of 1 ： 25, 62.23 % in 1 ： 15, down to 45.63 % in 1：10. In vitro release tests showed that a higher volume ratio of water phase to oily phase would lead to a lower release rate resulted from thicker fiber sheath.

As sciatica and low back pain are among the most common medical complaints, many studies have duplicated these conditions in animals. Chronic compression of the dorsal root ganglion （CCD） is one of these models. The surgery is simple： after exposing the L4/L5 intervertebral foramina, stainless steel rods are implanted unilaterally, one rod for each vertebra, to chronically compress the lumbar dorsal root ganglion （DRG）. Then, CCD can be used to simulate the clinical conditions caused by stenosis, such as a laterally herniated disc or foraminal stenosis. As the intraforaminal implantation of a rod results in neuronal somal hyperexcitability and spontaneous action potentials associated with hyperalgesia, spontaneous pain, and mechanical allodynia, CCD provides an animal model that mimics radicular pain in humans. This review concerns the mechanisms of neuronal hyperexcitability, focusing on various patterns of spontaneous discharge including one possible pain signal for mechanical allodynia - evoked bursting. Also, new data regarding its significant property of maintaining peripheral input are also discussed. Investigations using this animal model will enhance our un-derstanding of the neural mechanisms for low back pain and sciatica. Furthermore, the peripheral location of the DRG fa-cilitates its use as a locus for controlling pain with minimal central effects, in the hope of ultimately uncovering analgesics that block neuropathic pain without influencing physiological pain.

The origin of agriculture in the farming-pastoral zone of northern China remains in *** central region of the Inner Mongolia Plateau is located in the core area of the farming-pastoral zone;thus,it is a critical region for exploring the origin of the dryland farming system in northern *** study selected the Yumin Site and Banan Site,which belong to the Yumin Culture-the beginning of Neolithic culture in Inner Mongolia-as the research *** on the quartz optically stimulated luminescence(OSL)dating on the sedimentary sections from the Yumin site(YM)and Banan site(BN1 and BN2),the Holocene chronology framework of each section was *** that,by identifying carbonized grains in the Yumin site and the multi-proxy analysis of each section,we investigated the relationship between the origin of agriculture and climate change in this *** results revealed that the timing of the origin of agriculture recorded in the Yumin site lagged behind the timing of a significant increase of precipitation during the early Holocene but coincided with the timing of a significant increase of vegetation around 8.4 *** phenomenon was further confirmed by the published high-resolution paleoenvironmental records from the surrounding area of the Yumin *** propose that with the gradual amelioration of hydrothermal conditions since the beginning of the Holocene,the regional ecosystem had been improved,resulting in the gradual conversion of the land surface from infertile sand to organic-rich soil,providing an appropriate environmental foundation for the origin of dryland farming in northern China around 8.4 *** study highlighted that the“accumulative environmental effects”during the early Holocene played a vital role in the origin of agriculture in northern China and provided a reference for agricultural management in the context of future climate change.

Objective The relationship between compressed dorsal root ganglion （DRG） neurons and firing pattern and sensitivity of neurons was studied in chronically the Hindmarsh-Rose （HR） neuronal model. Methods Spontane- ous activities from single fibers of chronically compressed DRG neurons in rats were recorded, and divided into periodic and non-periodic firing patterns. The sensitivity of the two kinds of firing pattern neuron to sympathetic stimulation （SS） was compared. Result It was found that 27.3% of periodic firing neurons and 93.2% of non-periodic firing neurons responded to SS respectively （ periodic vs non-periodic, P 〈 0.01 ）. The responses to SS with different stimulation time were greater non-periodic firing neurons than periodic firing neurons （P 〈 0.01 ）. The non-periodic firing neurons obviously responded to SS. After the firing pattern of these neurons transformed to periodic firing pattern, their responses to SS disappeared or decreased obviously. The HR neuronal model exhibited a significantly greater response to perturbation in non-periodic （chaotic） firing pattern than in periodic firing pattern. Conelusion The non-periodic firing neurons with deterministic chaos are more sensitive to external stimuli than the periodic firing neurons.

This paper investigates the online inventory problem with interrelated prices in which a decision of when and how much to replenish must be made in an online fashion even without concrete knowledge of future prices. Four new online models with different price corre- lations are proposed in this paper, which are the linear-decrease model, the log-decrease model, the logarithmic model and the exponential model. For the first two models, the online algo- rithms are developed, and as the performance measure of online algorithm, the upper and lower bounds of competitive ratios of the algorithms are derived respectively. For the exponential and logarithmic models, the online algorithms are proposed by the solution of linear programming and the corresponding competitive ratios are analyzed, respectively. Additionally, the algorithm designed for the exponential model is optimal, and the algorithm for the logarithmic model is optimal only under some certain conditions. Moreover, some numerical examples illustrate that the algorithms based on the dprice-conservative strategy are more suitable when the purchase price fluctuates relatively flat.

OpenMP is an emerging industry standard for shared memory architectures. While OpenMP has advantages on its ease of use and incremental programming, message passing is today still the most widely-used programming model for distributed memory architectures. How to effectively extend OpenMP to distributed memory architectures has been a hot spot. This paper proposes an OpenMP system, called KLCoMP, for distributed memory architectures. Based on the "partially replicating shared arrays" memory model, we propose an algorithm for shared array recognition based on the inter-procedural analysis, optimization technique based on the producer/consumer relationship, and communication generation technique for nonlinear references. We evaluate the performance on nine benchmarks which cover computational fluid dynamics, integer sorting, molecular dynamics, earthquake simulation, and computational chemistry. The average scalability achieved by KLCoMP version is close to that achieved by MPI version. We compare the performance of our translated programs with that of versions generated for Omni+SCASH, LLCoMP, and OpenMP(Purdue), and find that parallel applications (especially, irregular applications) translated by KLCoMP can achieve more effective performance than other versions.
