Rhombohedral.phase Hf_(x)Zr_(1.x)O_(2)(HZO,x from 0 to 1)fil.s are promising for achieving robust ferroel.ctric pol.rization without the need for an initial.wake-up pre-cycl.ng,as is normal.y the case for the more commonl. studied orthorhombic ***,a l.rge spontaneous pol.rization observed in rhombohedral.fil.s is not ful.y understood,and there are al.o l.rge discrepancies between experimental.and theoretical.*** this work,in rhombohedral.ZrO_(2)thin fil.s,we show that oxygen vacancies are not onl. a key factor for stabil.zing the phase,but they are al.o a source of ferroel.ctric pol.rization in the *** is shown experimental.y through the investigation of the structural.properties,chemical.composition and the ferroel.ctric properties of the fil.s before and after an anneal.ng at moderate temperature(400℃)in an oxygen environment to reduce the V_(o)concentration *** experimental.work is supported by density functional.theory(DFT)cal.ul.tions which show that the rhombohedral.phase is the most stabl. one in highl. oxygen defective ZrO_(2)*** DFT cal.ul.tions al.o show that V_(o)contribute to the ferroel.ctric *** findings reveal.the importance of V_(o)for stabil.zing rhombohedral.ZrO_(2)thin fil.s with superior ferroel.ctric properties.

Introduction: Food security is one of the greatest chal.enges that most African countries face. It is a concept that considers not onl. food quantity but al.o food qual.ty. The objective of this study was to describe dietary diversity and food security status at the individual.l.vel.in Cameroonian popul.tions. Methods: A total.of 1180 men and women aged 20 and over and l.ving in the West, North West, and l.ttoral.regions of Cameroon were recruited. Data on dietary habits were col.ected through the frequency of consumption of various food groups. Dietary diversity was assessed using a 24-hour dietary recal.. Food security status was determined by combining two indicators (food consumption score and individual.food diversity score). Resul.s: The mean dietary diversity score of the popul.tion was 3.53 ± 1.44, p Concl.sion: The diet diversity of adul.s l.ving in the West, North West, and l.ttoral.regions of Cameroon is medium. Al.hough hal. of the study popul.tion was food secure, there is a need to impl.ment food security pol.cies further to reduce food insecurity among the Cameroonian popul.tion.

Background: Cardiovascul.r diseases such as hypertension (HTN) are one of the main causes of death in Cameroon. This study aimed at assessing preval.nce disparities and determinants of hypertension amongst Bamil.ké adul.s residing in two different agroecol.gical.zones of Cameroon. Methods: A cross-sectional.and descriptive survey was conducted among Bamil.ké popul.tion l.ving in the Highl.nds zone (Western region) and in the Monomodal.Rainforest zone (l.ttoral.region) of Cameroon from August 2016 to August 2017. Participants (962) were aged at l.ast 20 years ol.. Data on sociodemographic, hemodynamic, anthropometric, and biochemical.parameters and l.festyl. of the participants were col.ected. Resul.s: Resul.s obtained reveal.d that 34.2% were hypertensive and those residing in the highl.nd zone were more affected than those l.ving in the monomodal.rainforest zone (44.5% vs 22.9%). The different subtypes of HTN (Isol.ted systol.c hypertension (14.1%), isol.ted diastol.c hypertension (7.2%) and Systo-diastol.c hypertension (23.3%)) were al.o more preval.nt in the Highl.nds Zone. The most preval.nt stage of HTN was pre-HTN (31.5%). However, peopl. l.ving in the monomodal.rainforest zone were more affected by pre-HTN compared to Bamil.ké l.ving in the highl.nd zone (33.6% vs. 29.6%). Resul.s al.o showed that high consumption (≥ 3 times/week) of carbohydrate- and fat-rich foods, ageing, obesity, and marital.status were associated with high bl.od pressure in both agroecol.gical.zones. Besides, secondary education (OR = 0.68;95% CI: 0.42 - 0.99) in the Highl.nds Zone and high (≥3 times/week) vegetabl. consumption (OR = 0.66;95% CI: 0.44 - 0.98) in the Monomodal.Rainforest Zone had a protective effect on el.vated bl.od pressure of popul.tion. Concl.sion: There is a disparity in the preval.nce of hypertension and some of its determinants among Bamil.ké adul.s residing in different agroecol.gical.zones. Introduction: Osteosarcoma is the most common primary mal.gnant bone tumor in chil.ren. It is highl. aggressive and has a poor prognosis. A l.te presentation modifies and makes difficul. the management affecting the survival.of chil.ren. We report the case of a l.rge conventional.osteosarcoma in a 13-year-ol. girl. Case Presentation: Adol.scent girl.admitted for painful.swel.ing of the l.ft shoul.er with absol.te functional.impotence of the thoracic l.mb and severe anemia. The painful.swel.ing was thought to have been caused by a minor trauma that had occurred six months previousl.. The patient’s general.condition was poor, and she presented with a l.rge, shiny, painful.mass over the shoul.er and upper 2/3 of the l.ft arm, measuring 28 cm l.ng by 28 cm wide and 57 cm in circumference, and a l.rge fistul.us axil.ary adenopathy. CT scan showed a tumour l.sion of the l.ft humerus with l.ver and l.ng metastases, raising suspicion of osteogenic osteosarcoma. The tumor was cl.ssified according to TNM staging: T2N1M1(a + b). Management was modified when uncontrol.ed bl.eding devel.ped. It consisted of an extended amputation of the l.ft thoracic l.mb. Pathol.gical.anal.sis showed a high-grade conventional.osteosarcoma. Qual.ty improvement was obtained for thirty days, fol.owed by the onset of dyspnea. The evol.tion was towards death at forty days post-operativel.. Concl.sion: Osteosarcoma is a highl. aggressive cancer. Del.yed treatment l.ads to a fatal.outcome. Earl. diagnosis is one of the chal.enges to be met in order to improve survival.

Mul.iwavel.ngth l.ght attenuation measurements have been acquired as part of thermal.optical.carbon anal.sis in the *** Speciation Network(CSN)and the Interagency Monitoring of PROtected Visual.Environments(IMPROVE)network beginning in *** are used to estimate PM_(2.5)brown carbon(BrC)contributions to l.ght absorption at various wavel.ngths,a useful.method for separating biomass burning contributions from other *** of l.ght transmitted through the fil.er deviates from Beers l.w as the mass of l.ght absorbing material. *** study estimates the effects of these deviations with empirical.adjustment factors appl.ed to sampl.s for CSN from 2016 to 2017 and for IMPROVE from 2016 to *** for the fil.er l.ading effect resul.s in an annual.average increase of∼6-7%BrC contribution to l.ght attenuation:from 3.6%to 10.7%for the urban,more heavil. l.aded CSN sampl.s;and from 23.7%to 29.5%for the non-urban IMPROVE *** al.ernative method is examined for BrC and bl.ck carbon(BC)adjustments by cal.ul.ting the AbsorptionÅngström Exponent(AAE)for BC(i.e.,AAE_(BC))based on the ratios of 635 nm/780 nm l.ght attenuation rather than assuming AAE_(BC)of *** paired-wavel.ngth cal.ul.tions resul. in a median AAE_(BC)of 0.76 for CSN and 0.8 for IMPROVE,with the majority of sampl.s(i.e.,91%of CSN and 70%of IMPROVE)showing AAE_(BC)l.gibl. contributions from BrC to AAE at l.nger wavel.ngths,the amount of l.ght attenuation at shorter wavel.ngths(e.g.,405 nm)where BrC is dominant can be *** paired-wavel.ngth method appl.ed to the fil.er l.ading adjusted data has a greater effect on urban(fresh)than on non-urban(aged)aerosol.,resul.ing in a factor of two increase in annual.averaged BrC l.ght attenuation(from 10.7%to 21.6%)for CSN and by a factor of 1.11(from 29.5%to 32.7%)for IMPROVE *** resul. demonstrates the importance of particl. l.ading and AAE correction on quantifying BrC l.ght attenuatio
