Transfer relation between subgrade frost heave and slab track deformation and vehicle dynamic response in seasonally frozen ground

Subgrade frost heave in seasonally frozen ground can greatly influence the safety and smooth running of high-speed trains and the service performance of track structures.In this study,we used a static model to:(1)investigate track-subgrade frost heave and develop a dynamic model of vehicle-track-subgrade frost heave;(2)explore the transfer relation between subgrade frost heave and track structure deformation;(3)examine the characteristics of interlayer debonding;(4)study the influence of subgrade frost heave on the dynamic response of vehicles in high-speed railways in seasonally frozen regions.A Fourier series was used to fit the frost heave waveform and simulate the behavior of subgrade uneven frost heave using data collected on-site.The results show:(i)The position of frost heave significantly affects the transfer of deformation to a slab track.The largest deformation of the track slab,with the amplitude transfer ratio reaching 20%,was recorded when the frost heave occurred near the joint of the base plate.(ii)At the same frost heave amplitude,long-wave frost heave causes smaller deformation and debonding of the track structure than short-wave frost heave.In the wavelength range of 10-30 m,the main frequency of the acceleration spectral density was concentrated between 3.5 and 3.7 Hz,with larger frost heave wavelengths producing smaller superposition on the vertical acceleration of the vehicle.(ii)The maximum wheel-rail force occurs when the front bogie passes the frost heave peak,with greater frost heave amplitudes producing greater wheel-rail force.From these results,we conclude there is a clear need to control the frost heave deformation of the track to reduce the dynamic response of the vehicle and in turn improve train operatSubgrade frost heave in seasonally frozen ground can greatly influence the safety and smooth running of high-speed trains and the service performance of track structures.In this study,we used a static model to:(1)investigate track`-subgrade frost heave and develop a dynamic model of v

Chiral resolution of N-methyl-d,l-aspartic acid using a predicted N-demethylase from Chloroflexi bacterium 54-19

N-methyl-d-aspartic acid(NMDA),an amino acid existing in human and animal central nervous system,exerts agonist action on one of the glutamate receptor subtypes and is clinically used for treatment of diabetes,Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s syndrome.In this study,an enzymatic protocol for the chiral resolution of N-methyl-d,l-aspartic acid was built with a predicted N-demethylase(GenBank ID:OJV90073.1)from the genome of Chloroflexi bacterium 54-19.Through sequence alignment,the enzyme shares an identity of 32.19%to 2UZZ(PDB ID)with a conserved catalytic center.Recombinantly expressed in Bacillus subtilis WB600,the N-demethylase was characterized with optimal temperature and pH at 55℃and 7.5,and adaptive temperature and pH were 40-60℃ and 6-8.The effects of organic solvents and metal ions were investigated as well.Compared with other previously reported sarcosine oxidases,the enzyme showed a specific N-demethylation activity against N-methyl-l-aspartic acid according to the analysis by chiral liquid chromatography,LC-MS/MS and a detection by polarimeter.The results demonstrated 76%of 4.5 mM N-methyl-d,l-aspartic acid could be chirally separated by 7 mg·L^(−1) enzyme after reaction of 80 min.This work provided a foundation for mild synthesis of NMDA in industry.

Most basal-like breast cancers(BLBCs)have a poor prognosis and high crossover with triple-negative breast cancers(TNBCs).However,approximately 50%of TNBC patients develop chemoresistance.^(1) Dexamethasone reportedly induces Krüppel-like factor 5(KLF5)and can cause docetaxel and cisplatin resistance in TNBC.A super-enhancer can maintain the transcription of KLF5.

A Practical Regular LDPC Coded Scheme for Physical-Layer Information Security

In this paper,we aim to design a practical low complexity low-density parity-check(LDPC)coded scheme to build a secure open channel and protect information from eavesdropping.To this end,we first propose a punctured LDPC coded scheme,where the information bits in a codeword are punctured and only the parity check bits are transmitted to the receiver.We further propose a notion of check node type distribution and derive multi-edge type extrinsic information transfer functions to estimate the security performance,instead of the well-known weak metric bit error rate.We optimize the check node type distribution in terms of the signal-to-noise ratio(SNR)gap and modify the progressive edge growth algorithm to design finite-length codes.Numerical results show that our proposed scheme can achieve a lower computational complexity and a smaller security gap,compared to the existing scrambling and puncturing schemes.

Early diagnosis and management of neonatal sepsis:a perspective

Neonatal sepsis is an illness caused by bloodstream bacteria or fungal infections that affect newborn infants under 28 days of age.It stands as a significant contributor to morbidity and mortality in neonatal intensive care units(NICUs).With the improved survival rates of very low-birth-weight or extremely premature infants,a growing number of these vulnerable infants are receiving intensive care and undergoing invasive procedures,making nosocomial infections a persistent challenge in NICUs.The mortality rate associated with neonatal sepsis varies depending on factors such as birth weight,gestational age,and other co-morbidities.It can also lead to a range of long-term health consequences,including neurodevelopmental disabilities like cerebral palsy,visual or hearing impairments,and cognitive problems.Furthermore,neonatal sepsis is linked to various adverse outcomes,including respiratory complications,bronchopulmonary dysplasia,nutritional and growth issues,and immunological dysfunction[1].due to its atypical clinical presentation and the low rate of specific diagnostic indicators,such as a positive blood culture,accurately diagnosing neonatal sepsis is challenging.Consequently,the appropriateness of antibiotic treatment is often a matter of controversy.

Transformer and GAN-Based Super-Resolution Reconstruction Network for Medical Images

Super-resolution reconstruction in medical imaging has become more demanding due to the necessity of obtaining high-quality images with minimal radiation dose,such as in low-field magnetic resonance imaging(MRI).However,image super-resolution reconstruction remains a difficult task because of the complexity and high textual requirements for diagnosis purpose.In this paper,we offer a deep learning based strategy for reconstructing medical images from low resolutions utilizing Transformer and generative adversarial networks(T-GANs).The integrated system can extract more precise texture information and focus more on important locations through global image matching after successfully inserting Transformer into the generative adversarial network for picture reconstruction.Furthermore,we weighted the combination of content loss,adversarial loss,and adversarial feature loss as the final multi-task loss function during the training of our proposed model T-GAN.In comparison to established measures like peak signal-to-noise ratio(PSNR)and structural similarity index measure(SSIM),our suggested T-GAN achieves optimal performance and recovers more texture features in super-resolution reconstruction of MRI scanned images of the knees and belly.

High-pressure minerals and new lunar mineral changesite-(Y) in Chang’e-5 regolith

Forty-five years after the Apollo and Luna missions, China’s Chang’e-5 (CE-5) mission collected ∼1.73 kg of new lunar materials from one ofthe youngest basalt units on the Moon. The CE-5 lunar samples provide opportunities to address some key scientific questions related to theMoon, including the discovery of high-pressure silica polymorphs (seifertite and stishovite) and a new lunar mineral, changesite-(Y). Seifertitewas found to be coexist with stishovite in a silica fragment from CE-5 lunar regolith. This is the first confirmed seifertite in returned lunarsamples. Seifertite has two space group symmetries (Pnc2 and Pbcn) and formed from an α-cristobalite-like phase during “cold” compressionduring a shock event. The aftershock heating process changes some seifertite to stishovite. Thus, this silica fragment records different stagesof an impact process, and the peak shock pressure is estimated to be ∼11 to 40 GPa, which is much lower than the pressure condition forcoexistence of seifertite and stishovite on the phase diagram. Changesite-(Y), with ideal formula (Ca_(8)Y)◻Fe^(2+)(PO_(4))_(7) (where ◻ denotes avacancy) is the first new lunar mineral to be discovered in CE-5 regolith samples. This newly identified phosphate mineral is in the form ofcolumnar crystals and was found in CE-5 basalt fragments. It contains high concentrations of Y and rare earth elements (REE), reaching upto ∼14 wt. % (Y,REE)2O3. The occurrence of changesite-(Y) marks the late-stage fractional crystallization processes of CE-5 basalts combinedwith silicate liquid immiscibility. These new findings demonstrate the significance of studies on high-pressure minerals in lunar materials andthe special nature of lunar magmatic evolution.

Synthesis of chitosan-based grafting magnetic flocculants for flocculation of kaolin suspensions

A series of novel chitosan-based magnetic flocculants FS@CTS-P(AM-DMC)was prepared by molecular structure control.The characterization results showed that FS@CTS-P(AM-DMC)had a uniform size of about 21.46 nm,featuring a typical core-shell structure,and the average coating layer thickness of CTS-P(AM-DMC)was about 5.03 nm.FS@CTS-P(AM-DMC)exhibited excellent flocculation performance for kaolin suspension,achieved 92.54% turbidity removal efficiency under dosage of 150 mg/L,pH 7.0,even at high turbidity(2000 NTU)with a removal efficiency of 96.96%.The flocculation mechanism was revealed to be dominated by charge neutralization under acidic and neutral conditions,while adsorption and bridging effects play an important role in alkaline environments.The properties of magnetic aggregates during flocculation,breakage,and regeneration were studied at different pH levels and dosages.In the process of magnetophoretic,magnetic particles collide and adsorb with kaolin particles continuously due to magnetic and electrostatic attraction,transform into magnetic chain clusters,and then further form three-dimensional network magnetic aggregates that can capture free kaolin particles and other chain clusters.Particle image velocimetry confirmed the formation of eddy current of magnetic flocs and experienced three stages:acceleration,stabilization,and deceleration.

Asymmetric Hydrogenation of Phenanthridines with Chiral Boranes

The asymmetric hydrogenation of N-heteroarenes provides an efficient method for the synthesis of optically active cyclic secondary amines.In this paper,we described an asymmetric hydrogenation of phenanthridines using a chiral mono-alkene-derived borane.A variety of dihydrophenanthridines were furnished in high yields with up to 93%ee.The current catalytic system was very sensitive for the steric hindrance of phenanthridines.Bulky substituents at one phenyl group of phenanthridines were required to obtain the high enantioselectivity.But large substituents on the carbon of the C=N bonds would diminish the reactivity sharply.

Current understanding of ELF4 deficiency:a novel inborn error of immunity

Background ELF4 deficiency has been recently recognized as a novel disorder within the spectrum of inborn errors of immunity(IEIs),specifically categorized as a“disease of immune dysregulation.”Cases of this condition,reported by our team and others,are very limited worldwide.As such,our current knowledge of this new disease remains preliminary.This review aims to provide a brief overview of the clinical manifestations,pathogenesis,and treatment strategies for this novel IEI.Data sources A comprehensive review was conducted after an extensive literature search in the PubMed/Medline database and websites concerning transcriptional factor ELF4 and reports concerning patients with ELF4 deficiency.Our search strategy was“ELF4 OR ETS-related transcription factor Elf-4 OR EL4-like factor 4 OR myeloid Elf-1-like factor”as of the time of manuscript submission.Results The current signature manifestations of ELF4 deficiency disorder are recurrent and prolonged oral ulcer,abdominal pain,and diarrhea in pediatric males.In some cases,immunodeficiency and autoimmunity can also be prominent.Targeted Sanger sequencing or whole exome sequencing can be used to detect variation in ELF4 gene.Western blotting for ELF4 expression of the patient’s cells can confirm the pathogenic effect of the variant.To fully confirm the pathogenicity of the variant,further functional test is strongly advised.Glucocorticoid and biologics are the mainstream management of ELF4 deficiency disorder.Conclusions Pediatric males presenting with recurring ulcerations in digestive tract epithelium with or without recurrent fever should be suspected of DEX.When atypical presentations are prominent,variations in ELF4 gene should be carefully evaluated functionally due to the complex nature of ELF4 function.Experience of treating DEX includes use of glucocorticoid and biologics and more precise treatment needs more patients to identify and further mechanistic study.
