Chylothorax is a rare complication of neck dissection, and bilateral chylothorax is even rarer. However, both are potentially serious and sometimes life-threatening, especially those that are associated with left neck dissection for head and neck neoplasms. We report one case of bilateral chylothorax following left supraclavicular dissection for breast cancer. This case was treated successfully with a new conservative management approach.

In this paper we extend the notion of rearrangement of nonnegative functions to the setting of Carnot groups. We define rearrangement with respect to a given family of anisotropic balls Br , or equivalently with respect to a gauge‖x‖, and prove basic regularity properties of this construction. If u is a bounded nonnegative real function with compact support, we denote by u*its rearrangement. Then, the radial function u* is of bounded variation. In addition, if u is continuous then u* is continuous, and if u belongs to the horizontal Sobolev space W 1,ph , then Dhu*(x)/Dh( ‖x‖ )| is in Lp. Moreover, we found a generalization of the inequality of p(o)lya and Szeg(o) ∫|Dhu*|p/Dh(‖x‖)|pdx≤C ∫|Dhu|pdx,where p ≥ 1.

A position/force hybrid control system based on impedance control scheme is designed to align a small gripper to a special ring object. The vision information provided by microscope vision system is used as the feedback to indicate the position relationship between the gripper and the ring object. Multiple image features of the gripper and the ring object are extracted to estimate the relative positions between them. The end-effector of the gripper is tracked using the extracted features to keep the gripper moving in the field of view. The force information from the force sensor serves as the feedback to ensure that the contact force between the gripper and the ring object is limited in a small safe range. Experimental results verify the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy.

The electronic transport properties of a kind of phenylacetylene compound(4-mercaptophenyl)-phenylacetylene(MppA)are studied by the first-principles method.A dithiocarboxylate conjugated linker(–CS_(2))is used to anchor the molecule to one gold *** behavior is observed,which is mainly brought about by the asymmetrical coupling of electrodes to the *** is a drastic increase in current as the electrode-electrode distance is reduced,and the rectification ratio increases by 40%as the electrode-electrode distance is diminished from 16Åto 15.7Å.For comparison,we also perform simulations with the–CS_(2) linker replaced by thiol *** shows an obvious reduction in *** find that the stronger interface coupling induced by the–CS_(2) linker broadens transmission resonances near the Fermi energy,which leads to the current enhancement of the molecular junction with–CS_(2) linker.

This paper analyzes the viability of a new microcogeneration system with a Stirling engine micro-CHp(combined heat and power)and renewable solar energy:thermal and photovoltaic system,using accumulation system for hot water and ion lithium batteries for electricity.A weather station gives real meteorological parameters for Mediterranean climate(Málaga,Spain).A control unit permits to have a full automated system,which works according to a *** controller also allows theorizing a demand profile curve of daily consumption,typical for this or other *** studies analyse different kinds of combined systems by simulating or making the real installation to obtain results for either microcogeneration or solar power,but not together,*** heating applications to obtain a constant consumption of hot *** new system shows a new combination of resources(natural gas in Stirling and solar energy systems),and the implementation allows doing experiments with different profiles of consumption to have real,non-theoretical,*** control system is self-governing:it connects the different supplies of energy(solar thermal,photovoltaic,Stirling or batteries)depending on the demand,this demand can be changed by simulating any profile:domestic(heat and power),business,low thermal demand,low electricity demand,etc.

AIM:To investigate the effect of aqueous extract from Mangifera indica L.(MIE)on dextran sulfate sodium (DSS)-induced colitis in ***:MIE(150 mg/kg)was administered in two different protocols:(1)rectally,over 7 d at the same time as DSS administration;and(2)once daily over 14 d (by oral gavage,7 d before starting DSS,and rectally for 7 d during DSS administration).General observations of clinical signs were ***-inflammatory activity of MIE was assessed by myeloperoxidase(MpO)activity. Colonic lipid peroxidation was determined by measuring the levels of thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS).Reduced glutathione(GSH)levels,expression of inflammatory related mediators[inducible isoforms of nitric oxide synthase(iNOS)and cyclooxygenase (COX)-2,respectively]and cytokines[tumor necrosis factor(TNF)-αand TNF receptors 1 and 2]in colonic tissue were also ***(IL)-6 and TNF-α serum levels were also measured. RESULTS:The results demonstrated that MIE has anti-inflammatory properties by improvement of clinical signs,reduction of ulceration and reduced MpO activity when administered before *** addition,administration of MIE for 14 d resulted in an increase in GSH and reduction of TBARS levels and iNOS,COX-2, TNF-αand TNF R-2 expression in colonic tissue,and a decrease in IL-6 and TNF-αserum levels. CONCLUSION:MIE has anti-inflammatory activity in a DSS-induced rat colitis model and preventive administration(prior to DSS)seems to be a more effective protocol.

The metabolic syndrome(MS), which includes obesity,dyslipidaemia, hypertension and hyperglycaemia according to the most widely accepted definitions now used, is one of the most common post-transplant complications, with a prevalence of 44%-58%. The MS, together with the immunosuppression, is considered the main risk factor for the development of cardiovascular disease(CVD) in transplant recipients, which in turn accounts for 19%-42% of all deaths unrelated to the graft. The presence of MS represents a relative risk for the development of CVD and death of 1.78. On the other hand, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD), considered as the manifestation of the MS in the liver, is now the second leading reason for liver transplantation in the United States after hepatitis C and alcohol. NAFLD has a high rate of recurrence in the liver graft and a direct relation with the worsening of other metabolic disorders, such as insulin resistance or diabetes mellitus. Consequently, it is vitally important to identify and treat as soon as possible such modifiable factors as hypertension, overweight, hyperlipidaemia or diabetes in transplanted patients to thus minimise the impact on patient survival. Additionally, steroid-free regimens are favoured, with minimal immunosuppression to limit the possible effects on the development of the MS.

In this work, with the purpose to explore the coordination chemistry of calcium complexes which could work as a partial model of manganese-calcium cluster, a spectrophotometric study to evaluate the stability of the complexes: Calcium(Ⅱ)-1,2-ethylendiamine, Calcium(Ⅱ)-1,3-propanediamine and Calcium(Ⅱ)-1,4-butanediamine in acetonitrile, were carried on. By processing the spectrophotometric data with the HypSpec program allows the determination of the formation constants. The logarithmic values of the formation constants obtained for Calcium(Ⅱ)-1,2-ethylendiamine, Calcium(Ⅱ)-1,3-propanediamine and Calcium(Ⅱ)-1,4-butanediamine were log β_(110) = 4.69, log β_(110)= 5.25 and log β_(110) = 4.072, respectively.
