Web applications represent one of the principal vehicles by which attackers gain access to an organization’s network or ***,different approaches to protect web applications have been proposed to *** them,the two major approaches are Web Application Firewalls(WAF)and Runtime Application Self Protection(RASP).It is,thus,essential to understand the differences and relative effectiveness of both these approaches for effective decisionmaking regarding the security of web *** we present a comparative study between WAF and RASP simulated settings,with the aim to compare their effectiveness and efficiency against different categories of *** this,we used computation of different metrics and sorted their results using F-Score *** found that RASP tools scored better than WAF *** this study,we also developed a new experimental methodology for the objective evaluation ofweb protection tools since,to the best of our knowledge,nomethod specifically evaluates web protection tools.

In a computer environment,an operating system is prone to malware,and even the Linux operating system is not an *** recent years,malware has evolved,and attackers have become more qualified compared to a few years ***,Linux-based systems have become more attractive to cybercriminals because of the increasing use of the Linux operating system in web servers and Internet of Things(IoT)*** is the most employed OS,so most of the research efforts have been focused on its malware protection rather than on other operating *** a result,hundreds of research articles,documents,and methodologies dedicated to malware analysis have been ***,there has not been much literature concerning Linux security and protection from *** address all these new challenges,it is necessary to develop a methodology that can standardize the required steps to perform the malware analysis in depth.A systematic analysis process makes the difference between good and ordinary malware ***,a deep malware comprehension can yield a faster and much more efficient malware *** order to address all mentioned challenges,this article proposed a methodology for malware analysis in the Linux operating system,which is a traditionally overlooked field compared to the other operating *** proposed methodology is tested by a specific Linux malware,and the obtained test results have high effectiveness in malware detection.

To detect security vulnerabilities in a web application,the security analyst must choose the best performance Security Analysis Static Tool(SAST)in terms of discovering the greatest number of security vulnerabilities as *** compare static analysis tools for web applications,an adapted benchmark to the vulnerability categories included in the known standard Open Web Application Security Project(OWASP)Top Ten project is *** information of the security effectiveness of a commercial static analysis tool is not usually a publicly accessible research and the state of the art on static security tool analyzers shows that the different design and implementation of those tools has different effectiveness rates in terms of security *** the significant cost of commercial tools,this paper studies the performance of seven static tools using a new methodology proposal and a new benchmark designed for vulnerability categories included in the known standard OWASP Top Ten ***,the practitioners will have more precise information to select the best tool using a benchmark adapted to the last versions of OWASP Top Ten *** results of this work have been obtaining using widely acceptable metrics to classify them according to three different degree of web application criticality.

Software Project Effort Estimation Based on Multiple Parametric Models Generated Through Data Clustering

Parametric software effort estimation models usually consists of only a single mathematical relationship. With the advent of software repositories containing data from heterogeneous projects, these types of models suffer from poor adjustment and predictive accuracy. One possible way to alleviate this problem is the use of a set of mathematical equations obtained through dividing of the historical project datasets according to different parameters into subdatasets called partitions. In turn, partitions are divided into clusters that serve as a tool for more accurate models. In this paper, we describe the process, tool and results of such approach through a case study using a publicly available repository, ISBSG. Results suggest the adequacy of the technique as an extension of existing single-expression models without making the estimation process much more complex that uses a single estimation model. Tars and alkali ashes from biomass gasification processes currently constitute one of the major problems in biomass valorisation, generating clogging of filters and issues related with the purity of syngas production. To date, these waste residues find no useful applications and they are generally disposed upon generation in the gasification process. A detailed analysis of these residues pointed out the presence of high quantities of Ca （〉30 wt%）. TG experiments indicated that a treatment under air at moderate temperatures （400-800 ~C） decomposed the majority of carbon species, while XRD indicated the presence of a crystalline CaO phase. CaO enriched valorized materials turned out to be good heterogeneous catalysts for biodiesel production from vegetable oils, providing moderate to good activities （50%-70% after 12 h） to fatty acid methyl esters in the transesterification of sunflower oil with methanol.

The use of dendrochronology to study and date geomorphic processes in volcanic environments is still incipient, even more so on the volcanic slopes covered by temperate forests in central Mexico. Mass movements, such as debris flows, often impact forest stands where they cause damage to individual trees, thereby generating growth disturbances(GD) in the tree-ring records. The identification and dating of GD enables reconstruction of the age of trees colonizing bare surfaces after major events, but also allows the assessment of the frequency or spatial distribution of past geomorphic process activity. Here we used increment cores from 65 Pinus leiophylla, Abies religiosa, and Alnus jorullensis trees growing in the Axal gorge, on the southern slopes of La Malinche volcano, to unravel past debris-flow activity both temporally and spatially. Based on the combination of GD records, a weighted tree response index(Wit), field evidence and hydrometeorological records, we reconstructed 23 debris flows since ***, almost two-thirds of the reconstructed years with debris-flow activity in Axal gorge match with events recorded in Axaltzintle gorge located on the NE slopes of La Malinche. These findings suggest a regional triggering mechanism, most likely related to the occurrence of hurricanes. This research could be useful for disaster risk management of the La Malinche National Park.
