The most salient problems of transit vehicle service in Latin American intermediate cities include:the high number of passengers involved in traffic accidents;traffic congestion caused by transit vehicles,and pollution generated by these vehicles,which increases in high congestion *** improve upon this situation,a research was conducted on the transit vehicle tracking service,which is a basic service for implementing mobility solutions for the aforementioned problems,the most relevant characteristics of this service for the context of Latin American intermediate cities were identified,and an implementation was *** paper presents the four stages of the study:(a)a review of the state-of-the-art of services or systems related to vehicle tracking,including wireless communications technologies,implemented sustainability approaches,usage of special algorithms for efficiency improvement,and the intelligent transportation system(ITS)architecture used as a basis;(b)the process of identifying relevant characteristics of the service for a given context;(c)proposal of an ITS architecture for this service in an intermediate city,its requirements and the suggested technologies;and(d)development of experiments for validating usage of the key suggested *** review allowed to identify the main service characteristics,with regard to vehicle positioning technologies,the recommended wireless communication technology(long range,LoRa),energy consumption considerations,and use of artificial intelligence(AI)to calculate waiting time of users at bus ***,an ITS architecture for the city of Popayan(Colombian city)considering the aforementioned characteristics is proposed,and the experiments related to the use of these technologies are described in detail.

Traffic accidents are one of the most serious problems worldwide,being one of the leading causes of death and economic loss in the ***-and middle-income countries,mainly their medium-sized cities,are among the most affected by this problem.93%of traffic accidents occur in low and middle-income countries,even though these countries have approximately 60%of the world’s *** occurs mainly because in these types of countries,especially in medium-sized cities(target context),there are no ideal conditions for driving,such as adequate road infrastructure,good condition of vehicles,and rigorous safety *** data analysis techniques including machine learning(ML)have increasingly been used to solve this *** driving(ND)can be applied as a data collection method that provides information on traffic *** commonly uses a vehicle’s kinematic data to detect high-risk driving behaviors that could cause an *** objectives of this document are to present a review of different alternatives that help in data collection and creation of intelligent solutions related to detection of possible traffic accidents,principally using ND;and to propose an intelligent collision risk detection system(ICRDS)for identification of areas with a high probability of TA in the target *** the review,it was possible to analyze and evaluate the devices,variables and algorithms that help characterize a risk event in driving,considering the target *** development of a prototype of an ICRDS for a medium-sized city in a developing country is considered viable,considering the identified components,with the aim of identifying risk events in driving,and areas of high probability of accidents in the city.

Emerging technologies such as electric vehicles,solid-state transformers,and DC transformers are implemented using the closed-loop bi-directional dual-active-bridge(DAB)*** this context,it is necessary to have average models that provide an efficient way of tuning the proportional integral(PI)compensator parameters for large-and small-signal *** present a novel small-signal model(SSM)for DAB converter with a single closed-loop PI controller and the total elimination of reactive current(IQ=0).The method applies a modulation technique for IQ=0 and introduces a composite function in the controller while reducing the original nonlinear switching model,which allows to decrease the order of the transfer function and analyze the closed-loop *** proposed SSM is analyzed using different response time,load,and DC voltage *** simulation and experimental results demonstrate the ease of implementation and effectiveness of the proposed model with respect to other SSM techniques.

Plant growth and development involve the specification and regeneration of stem cell niches(SCNs).Although plants are exposed to disparate environmental conditions,how environmental cues affect developmental programs and stem cells is not well *** stem cells are accommodated in meristems in SCNs around the quiescent center(QC),which maintains their *** a combination of genetics and confocal microscopy to trace morphological defects and correlate them with changes in gene expression and protein levels,we show that the cold-induced transcription factor(TF)C-REPEAT BINDING FACTOR 3(CBF3),which has previously been associated with cold acclimation,regulates root development,stem cell activity,and ***3 is integrated into the SHORT-ROOT(SHR)regulatory network,forming a feedback loop that maintains SHR ***3 is primarily expressed in the root endodermis,whereas the CBF3 protein is localized to other meristematic tissues,including root *** of cbf3-1 using a wild-type CBF3 gene and a CBF3 fusion with reduced mobility show that CBF3 movement capacity is required for SCN patterning and regulates root ***,cold induces CBF3,affecting QC ***,exposure to moderate cold around 10℃–12℃promotes root regeneration and QC respecification in a CBF3-dependent manner during the recuperation *** contrast,CBF3 does not appear to regulate stem cell survival,which has been associated with recuperation from more acute cold(-4℃).We propose a role for CBF3 in mediating the molecular interrelationships among the cold response,stem cell activity,and development.

The effects of the interaction between a gallery lining and surrounding ground are evaluated. The gallery is circular with constant thickness and surrounding ground as geotechnical characteristics is soft one. Two types of ground are successively considered with bulk modulus K = 9,260 kPa and K = 4,630 kPa. The analysis is carried out for a gallery with 3.80 m inner diameter and 25 cm thickness. This under construction is part of the irrigation system of the ＂Los Rios＂ county （Ecuador）. Comprehensive computations in various hypotheses pointed out the significant effects of the interaction. The sectional stresses （M, N） in the gallery lining embedded in soft ground depend mainly of the gallery depth versus ground surface. Contrary, the mechanical characteristics of the surrounding ground resulted to have little influence.

Background:Hepatitis C(HCV)remains a serious public health problem in high-risk persons such as patients on chronic *** aimed to estimate the serological prevalence of HCV,the HCV viral load and genotype,and liver fibrosis stage among patients on chronic hemodialysis at the National Renal Health Center in Lima,***:From June 2019 to March 2021,all patients who received chronic hemodialysis were invited to *** who provided written informed consent were *** with HCV-positive serology underwent determination of HCV viral *** from subjects with detectable viral load,underwent determination of HCV ***,HCV infected subjects underwent determination of liver fibrosis using transitional elastography(Fibroscan 402):Metavir score:F0-F1:2.5-7.5 kPa,F2:7.6-9.5 Kpa,F3:9.6-12 Kpa,F4(Cirrhosis):12.1-75 ***:Of the 303 subjects invited to participate,174(57.4%)subjects gave their written *** age was 52 years(range 22-91)and 116(66.6%)were *** serology was positive in 35.1%of patients(61/174);however,the prevalence of positive serology with detectable viral load was 20.11%(35/174).Genotype 1a was the most prevalent(85%).The majority(83.6%)of subjects with detectable viral load had values lower than 800.000 IU/***-nine of those 35 subjects underwent elastography evaluation,and 13(44.8%)of them were found to have stage F2-F4 ***:The prevalence of HCV at the largest reference center for hemodialysis in Lima remains high,with GT1a predominance,viral load usually below 800,000 IU/mL and significant liver fibrosis.

Associated Factors for In-Hospital Mortality in Patients with Meningeal Cryptococcosis and HIV Infection at a Local Hospital in Lima, Peru

Objective: To determine the associated factors for in-hospital mortality in patients with meningeal cryptococcosis and HIV infection at a local hospital in Lima, Perú. Materials and methods: We carried out a case-control study by reviewing the medical histories available at a local hospital in Lima, Peru. We determined the factors associated with mortality using a logistic regression model. Results: The information of 90 patients was analyzed, 37 dead and 53 alive. In the multivariate analysis we found two variables associated with mortality: Glasgow at admission (OR = 4.55 (1.61 – 12.20), p = 0.01) and serum antigen titer greater than 1024 (OR = 20.48 (1.6 – 261.04, p = 0.02). The protective factor found was a longer hospitalization stay (OR = 0.80 (0.69 – 0.93, p = 0.005).Conclusions: A low Glasgow score and serum antigen titer greater than 1024 are associated factors with mortality, whereas hospitalization length is a protective factor.
