Hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) is an aggressive and often fatal overactivation of the immune system. It is characterized by inappropriate and dysregulated activation of natural killer (NK) cells, CD8^(+)cytotoxic T cells, and macrophages. Ineffective interactions between NK cells, CD8^(+)T cells, and their pathogenic targets lead to massive cytokine accumulation and widespread macrophage activation. Resultant hemophagocytosis and excessive organdamaging infl ammation subsequently *** may be triggered by genetic or sporadic disorders,as well as specific events that alter immune *** events include inflammatory or infectious disease processes and malignancy.

The formation of oligomeric hydrogen peroxide triggered by Criegee intermediate maybe contributes significantly to the formation and growth of secondary organic aerosol(SOA).However,to date,the reactivity of C2 Criegee intermediates(CH_(3)CHOO)in areas contaminated with acidic gas remains poorly ***,high-level quantum chemical calculations and Born-Oppenheimer molecular dynamics(BOMD)simulations are used to explore the reaction of CH_(3)CHOO and H_(2)SO_(4)both in the gas phase and at the airwater *** the gas phase,the addition reaction of CH_(3)CHOO with H_(2)SO_(4)to generate CH_(3)HC(OOH)OSO_(3)H(HPES)is near-barrierless,regardless of the presence of water *** simulations showthat the reaction at the air-water interface is even faster than that in the gas *** calculations reveal that the HPES has a tendency to aggregate with sulfuric acids,ammonias,and water molecules to form stable clusters,meanwhile the oligomerization reaction of CH_(3)CHOO with HPES in the gas phase is both thermochemically and kinetically ***,it is noted that the interfacial HPES−ion can attract H_(2)SO_(4),NH_(3),(COOH)_(2)and HNO_(3)for particle formation from the gas phase to the water ***,the results of this work not only elucidate the high atmospheric reactivity of C2 Criegee intermediates in polluted regions,but also deepen our understanding of the formation process of atmospheric SOA induced by Criegee intermediates.

Decays resulting from infections by Geotrichum citri-aurantii cause a significant reduction in citrus postharvest quality and marketable *** the present work,0.8 mol·L^(-1)NaCl of Generally Recognized as Safe(GRAS)salts were identified to have complete inhibition activity to *** in vitro and in *** inhibitory mechanism study showed that 0.1 mol·L^(-1)NaCl changed the expression of six genes(Gci002087,Gci003354,Gci000013,Gci000394,Gci003505 and Gci004433)in target of rapamycin(TOR)pathway,thus inducing a large number of lipid droplets(LDs)accumulation with TEM observations and *** vivo,0.1 mol·L^(-1)NaCl could raise up the activities of CAT,PAL,PPO and cellulase which hence to strengthen the ability of resistance tolerance of *** addition,NaCl not only accelerated the growth of the biocontrol yeast Kloeckera apiculata strain 34-9,but also increased the expression level of adhesin-encoding genes and biofilm-formation encoding gene(34-9-3691).Finally,the storage experiments in 3 months demonstrated that the combination of NaCl and the yeast 34-9 could keep fresh,reduce decay and prolong its shelf-life,thus implying that the combination of biocontrol strain and GRAS salts has been explored as a promising alternative to synthetic fungicides.

Traumatic brain inj.ry, chronic traumatic encephalopathy, and Alzheimer's disease are three distinct neurological disorders that share common pathophysiological mechanisms involving neuroinflammation. One sequela of neuroinflammation includes the pathologic hyperphosphorylation of tau protein, an endogenous microtubule-associated protein that protects the integrity of neuronal cytoskeletons. Tau hyperphosphorylation results in protein misfolding and subsequent accumulation of tau tangles forming neurotoxic aggregates. These misfolded proteins are characteristic of traumatic brain inj.ry, chronic traumatic encephalopathy, and Alzheimer's disease and can lead to downstream neuroinflammatory processes, including assembly and activation of the inflammasome complex. Inflammasomes refer to a family of multimeric protein units that, upon activation, release a cascade of signaling molecules resulting in caspase-induced cell death and inflammation mediated by the release of interleukin-1β cytokine. One specific inflammasome, the NOD-like receptor protein 3, has been proposed to be a key regulator of tau phosphorylation where it has been shown that prolonged NOD-like receptor protein 3 activation acts as a causal factor in pathological tau accumulation and spreading. This review begins by describing the epidemiology and pathophysiology of traumatic brain inj.ry, chronic traumatic encephalopathy, and Alzheimer's disease. Next, we highlight neuroinflammation as an overriding theme and discuss the role of the NOD-like receptor protein 3 inflammasome in the formation of tau deposits and how such tauopathic entities spread throughout the brain. We then propose a novel framework linking traumatic brain inj.ry, chronic traumatic encephalopathy, and Alzheimer's disease as inflammasomedependent pathologies that exist along a temporal continuum. Finally, we discuss potential therapeutic targets that may intercept this pathway and ultimately minimize long-term neurological decline.

To investigate the associations between isocarbophos and isofenphos with impaired fasting glucose(IFG)and type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM),and to assess the mediation roles of inflammation *** were 2701 participants in the case-control study,including 896 patients with T2DM,900 patients with IFG,905 subj.cts with *** isocarbophos and isofenphos concentrationsweremeasured using gas chromatography and triple quadrupole tandem mass *** linear models were used to calculate the relationships between plasma isofenphos and isocarbophos levels with inflammatory factor levels and *** cell was used as mediators to estimate the mediating effects on the above *** and isofenphos were positively related with T2DM after adj.sting for other *** odds ratio(95%confidence interval)(OR(95%CI))for T2DM was 1.041(1.015,1.068)and for IFG was 1.066(1.009,1.127)per unit rise in *** prevalence of T2DM increased by 6.4%for every 1 unit more of ln-isofenphos(OR(95%CI):1.064(1.041,1.087)).Additionally,a 100%rise in ln-isocarbophos was linked to 3.3%higher ln-HOMA2IR and a 0.029 mmol/L higher glycosylated hemoglobin(HbA1c)(95%CI:0.007,0.051).While a 100%rise in ln-isofenphos was linked to increase in ln-HOMA2 and ln-HOMA2IR of 5.8%and 3.4%,***,white blood cell(WBC)and neutrophilic(NE)were found to be mediators in the relationship between isocarbophos and T2DM,and the corresponding proportions were 17.12%and 17.67%,*** and isocarbophos are associated with IFG and T2DM in the rural Chinese population,WBC and NE have a significant role in this relationship.

Rechargeable aqueous zinc-ion batteries(AZIBs)exhibit appreciable potential in the domain of electrochemical energy ***,there are serious challenges for AZIBs,for instance zinc dendrite growth,hydrogen evolution reaction(HER),and corrosion side ***,we propose a surface engineering modification strategy for coating the montmorillonite(MMT)layer onto the surface of the Zn anode to tackle these issues,thereby achieving high cycling stability for rechargeable *** results reveal that the MMT layer on the surface of the Zn anode is able to provide ordered zincophilic channels for zinc ions migration,facilitating the reaction kinetics of zinc *** functional theory(DFT)calculations and water contact angle(CA)tests prove that MMT@Zn anode exhibits superior adsorption capacity for Zn^(2+)and better hydrophobicity than the bare Zn anode,thereby achieving excellent cycling ***,the MMT@Zn||MMT@Zn symmetric cell holds the stable cycling over 5600 h at 0.5 mA cm^(-2)and 0.125 m A h cm^(-2),even exceeding 1800 h long cycling under harsh conditions of 5 m A cm^(-2)and 1.25 m A h cm^(-2).The MMT@Zn||V_(2)O_(5)full cell reaches over 3000 cycles at 2 A g^(-1)with excellent rate ***,this surface engineering modification strategy for enhancing the electrochemical performance of AZIBs represents a promising application.
