There are around 15 million preterm newborns(PT) eve ry year(Atienza-Navarro et al., 2020).With these figures in mind,prematurity represents a major health problem worldwide and it is a leading cause of infant mortality,accounting for up to 35%of all deaths among newborns(Atienza-Navarro et al.,2020) and up to 18% of the deaths among children under 5 years of age.

Neonatal encephalopathy resulting from an asphyxial episode occurring perinatally is a major cause of death and of permanent neurological disabilities worldwide. Therapeutic hypothermia(TH) started within 6 hours of life and maintained for 72 hours is now well established as standard treatment for infants with moderate-to-severe hypoxicischemic encephalopathy(HIE).

In the last few years,much more information on the anterolateral complex of the knee has become available.It has now been demonstrated how it works in conjunction with the anterior cruciate ligament(ACL)controlling anterolateral rotatory laxity.Biomechanical studies have shown that the anterolateral complex(ALC)has a role as a secondary stabilizer to the ACL in opposing anterior tibial translation and internal tibial rotation.It is of utmost importance that surgeons comprehend the intricate anatomy of the entire anterolateral aspect of the knee.Although most studies have only focused on the anterolateral ligament(ALL),the ALC of the knee consists of a functional unit formed by the layers of the iliotibial band combined with the anterolateral joint capsule.Considerable interest has also been given to imaging evaluation using magnetic resonance and several studies have targeted the evaluation of the ALC in the setting of ACL injury.Results are inconsistent with a lack of association between magnetic resonance imaging evidence of injury and clinical findings.Isolated ACL reconstruction may not always reestablish knee rotatory stability in patients with associated ALC injury.In such cases,additional procedures,such as anterolateral reconstruction or lateral tenodesis,may be indicated.There are several techniques available for ALL reconstruction.Graft options include the iliotibial band,gracilis or semitendinosus tendon autograft,or allograft.

Background:Our objective was to identify possible associations between clinical and laboratory variables and the risk of developing acute kidney injury(AKI)in severely injured patients admitted to the Intensive Care Unit(ICU)for whom creatine kinase(CK)levels were available.Methods:for this retrospective observational study,we analyzed adult trauma patients admitted to the ICU from 2011 to 2015 at fundación Valle del Lili(fVL)University Hospital.Our primary outcome was the incidence of AKI.Multivariate regression analysis was used to assess risk factors for this outcome.Results:A total of 315 patients were included.The trauma mechanisms were blunt(n=130),penetrating(n=66)and blast(n=44)trauma.The median[interquartile range,(IQR)of injury severity score(ISS)was 21(16–29).AKI developed in 75 patients(23.8%).Multivariate regression analysis revealed that the thoracic abbreviated injury scale(AIS)value(median(IQR)in the AKI group:3(0–4)],Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation(APACHE Ⅱ)score[median(IQR)in the AKI group:18(10–27)],CK greater than 5000 U/L,lactic acid concentration at admission,and dobutamine administration were independently associated with AKI.Conclusions:We found that age,APACHE Ⅱ score,thoracic trauma,lactic acidosis,and dobutamine administration were independently associated with AKI.Trauma surgeons need to be aware of the increased odds of AKI if one of these factors is identified during the evaluation and treatment of injured patients.

Understanding the biological parameters of some triatomine subspecies of Meccus phyllosomus （Burmeister） is a crucial first step in estimating the epidemiologie importance of this group. Biological parameters related to hatching, lifetime, number of blood meals to molt, percentage of females at the end of the cycle, number of laid eggs, and mortality for each instar of 3 M. phyllosomus subspecies [M. p. mazzottii （Usinger）, M. p. pallidipennis （Stal）, and M. p. phyllosomus] and their laboratory hybrids were evaluated and compared. No significant differences （P 〉 0.05） were found among the experimental hybrids （MaPa, MaPhy, PaPhy） and reciprocal cohorts. In 5 （hatching, number of blood meals to molt, accumulative mortality, percentage of females, and mean number of laid eggs） of the 6 studied parameters （with the exception of development time）, the hybrid cohorts had better fitness results than the parental cohorts involved in each set of crosses. The increase in hybrid fitness found in our study could lead to an increase in the epidemiologic risks caused by transmission of Trypanosoma cruzi to humans.

Sejima and Nishizawa have developed their work without explicitly referencing a theoretical discourse.However,they have stated that their housing projects describe their"architectural biography."This study presents the hypothesis that systermic theories had infu-enced their housing projects at a spatial and constructive Level.With the aim of testing it,the research produces four lines of results.firstly,we observe that the word system is prominently current in a signifcant sample of their published texts.We describe how architects like Tomi-naga,Ito,Taki,and Shinohara,who infuenced Sejima when she was still a student,discussed this concept inspired by Christopher Alexander's texts.The second line brings together all the couple's single-family housing projects published between 1987 and 2010 for the first time in a single document,as well as an original graphic-constructive reconstruction of the most outstanding ones.Thirdly,we unveil the emergence of four constructive patterns by applying these theories to the graphic material developed.finally,we summarize the results in dia-grams,showing the frequency,intensity,and continuity of the identified patterns in the four phases throughout the studied period.Verifying the hypothesis facilitates further research relate their domestic work and their other types of projects.

In the last twenty years, new imaging techniques to assess atrial function and to predict the risk of recurrence of atrial fibrillation after treatment have been developed. The present review deals with the role of these techniques in the detection of structural and functional changes of the atrium and diagnosis of atrial remodeling, particularly atrial fibrosis. Echocardiography allows the detection of anatomical, functional changes and deformation of the atrial wall during the phases of the cardiac cycle. for this, adequate acquisition of atrial images is necessary using speckle tracking imaging and interpretation of the resulting strain and strain rate curves. This allows to predict new-onset atrial fibrillation and recurrences. Its main limitations are inter-observer variability, the existence of different software manufacturers, and the fact that the software used were originally developed for the evaluation of the ventricular function and are now applied to the atria. Cardiac magnetic resonance, using contrast enhancement with gadolinium, plays a key role in the visualization and quantification of atrial fibrosis. This is the established method for in vivo visualization of myocardial fibrotic tissue. The non-invasive evaluation of atrial fibrosis is associ- ated with the risk of recurrence of atrial fibrillation and with electro-anatomical endocardial mapping. We discuss the limitations of these techniques, derived from the difficulty of demonstrating the correlation between fibrosis imaging and histology, and poor intra- and inter- observer reproducibility. The sources of discordance are described, mainly due to image acquisition and processing, and the challenges ahead in an attempt to eliminate differences between operators.
