BACKGROUND Metabolic dysf.nction-associated steatotic liver disease(MASLD)and metabolic dysf.nction-associated steatohepatitis(MASH)are a growing health burden across a signif.cant portion of.the global patient ***,these conditions seem to have disparate rates and outcomes between dif.erent ethnic *** combination of.MASLD/MASH and type 2 diabetes increases the risk of.hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC),and Hispanic patients experience the greatest burden,particularly those in South *** To compare outcomes between Hispanic and non-Hispanic patients in the United States,while f.rther f.cusing on the Hispanic population within Southeast Texas to determine whether the documented disparity in outcomes is a f.nction of.geographical circumstance or if.there is a more widespread reason that all clinicians must account f.r in prognostic *** This cohort analysis was conducted with data obtained f.om TriNetX,LLC(“TriNetX”),a global f.derated health research network that provides access to deidentif.ed medical records f.om healthcare organizations *** cohort networks were used:University of.Texas Medical Branch(UTMB)hospital and the United States national database collective to determine whether disparities were related to geographic regions,like Southeast *** This study f.ndings revealed Hispanics/Latinos have a statistically signif.cant higher occurrence of.HCC,type 2 diabetes mellitus,and liver f.brosis/cirrhosis in both the United States and the UTMB Hispanic/Latino *** mortality in Hispanics/Latinos was lower within the United States group and not statistically elevated in the UTMB *** This would appear to support that Hispanic patients in Southeast Texas are not uniquely af.ected compared to the national Hispanic population.

BACKGROUND Esophagopericardial f.stula(EPf.is a rare,lif.-threatening condition with limited scientif.c literature and no established management *** case report highlights a successf.l multidisciplinary approach and the innovative use of.endoscopic vacuum assisted closure(endoVAC)therapy in treating this complex *** SUMMARY A 16-year-old male with a history of.esophageal atresia and colon interposition presented with progressive chest pain,f.ver,and *** revealed an EPf.with associated pleural and pericardial *** management with an esophageal stent f.iled,prompting the use of.an endoVAC *** patient underwent multiple endoVAC device changes and received broad-spectrum antibiotics and nutritional *** f.stula successf.lly closed,and the patient recovered,demonstrating no new symptoms at a 6-month *** EndoVAC therapy can ef.ectively manage EPf.providing a minimally invasive treatment option.

Bayesian optimization(BO)is an indispensable tool to optimize objective f.nctions that either do not have known f.nctional f.rms or are expensive to ***,optimal experimental design is always conducted within the workf.ow of.BO leading to more ef.icient exploration of.the design space compared to traditional *** can have a signif.cant impact on modern scientif.c discovery,in particular autonomous materials discovery,which can be viewed as an optimization problem aimed at looking f.r the maximum(or minimum)point f.r the desired materials *** perf.rmance of.BO-based experimental design depends not only on the adopted acquisition f.nction but also on the surrogate models that help to approximate underlying objective *** this paper,we propose a f.lly autonomous experimental design f.amework that uses more adaptive and f.exible Bayesian surrogate models in a BO procedure,namely Bayesian multivariate adaptive regression splines and Bayesian additive regression *** can overcome the weaknesses of.widely used Gaussian process-based methods when f.ced with relatively high-dimensional design space or non-smooth patterns of.objective *** simulation studies and real-world materials science case studies demonstrate their enhanced search ef.iciency and robustness.

f.tting C2-continuous or superior surf.ces to a set S of.points sampled on a 2-manif.ld is central to reverse engineering, computer aided geometric modeling, entertaining, modeling of.art heritage, etc. This article addresses the f.tting of.analytic (ellipsoid, cones, cylinders) surf.ces in general position in . Currently, the state of.the art presents limitations in 1) automatically f.nding an initial guess f.r the analytic surf.ce f.sought, and 2) economically estimating the geometric distance between a point of.S and the analytic surf.ce f. These issues are central in estimating an analytic surf.ce which minimizes its accumulated distances to the point set. In response to this situation, this article presents and tests novel user-independent strategies f.r addressing aspects 1) and 2) above, f.r cylinders, cones and ellipsoids. A conjecture f.r the calculation of.the distance point-ellipsoid is also proposed. Our strategies produce good initial guesses f.r f.and f.st f.tting error estimation f.r f. leading to an agile and robust optimization algorithm. Ongoing work addresses the f.tting of.f.ee-f.rm parametric surf.ces to S.
