a.M: To investiga.e the role of genes a.d kinetics of specific tra.scription fa.tors in liver regenera.ion, a.d to a.a.yze the gene expression a.d the a.tivity of some molecules crucia.ly involved in hepa.ic regenera.ion. METHODS: USING gel-shift a.sa. a.d RT-PCR, tra.scription fa.tors, such a. NF-κB, STa.-3, SMa.3 a.d a.-1, a.d gene expression of inducible nitric oxide syntha.e (iNOS), hepa.ocyte growth fa.tor (HGF) a.d c-met were a.a.yzed in a. a.ima. model of chemica.ly induced hepa.ectomy. RESULTS: Gene expression of HGF a.d its receptor c-met pea.ed a. 3 h a.d 24 h a.ter a.ute CCl4 intoxi- ca.ion. iNOS expression wa. only observed from 6 to 48 h. Tra.scriptiona. fa.tor NF-κB ha. a. ea.ly a.tiva.ion a. 30 min a.ter a.ute liver da.a.e. STa.-3 pea.ed 3 h post- intoxica.ion, while a.-1 displa.ed a.pea. of a.tiva.ion a. 48 h. SMa.3 showed a.high a.tivity a. a.l a.a.yzed times. CONCLUSION: TNF-α a.d IL-6 pla. a.centra. role in hepa.ic regenera.ion. These two molecules a.e responsible for triggering the ca.ca.e of events a.d switch-on of genes involved in cell prolifera.ion, such a. growth fa.tors, kina.es a.d cyclins which a.e direct pa.ticipa.ts of cell prolifera.ion.

Understa.ding the biologica. pa.a.eters of some tria.omine subspecies of Meccus phyllosomus （Burmeister） is a.crucia. first step in estima.ing the epidemiologie importa.ce of this group. Biologica. pa.a.eters rela.ed to ha.ching, lifetime, number of blood mea.s to molt, percenta.e of fema.es a. the end of the cycle, number of la.d eggs, a.d morta.ity for ea.h insta. of 3 M. phyllosomus subspecies [M. p. ma.zottii （Usinger）, M. p. pa.lidipennis （Sta.）, a.d M. p. phyllosomus] a.d their la.ora.ory hybrids were eva.ua.ed a.d compa.ed. No significa.t differences （P 〉 0.05） were found a.ong the experimenta. hybrids （Ma.a. Ma.hy, Pa.hy） a.d reciproca. cohorts. In 5 （ha.ching, number of blood mea.s to molt, a.cumula.ive morta.ity, percenta.e of fema.es, a.d mea. number of la.d eggs） of the 6 studied pa.a.eters （with the exception of development time）, the hybrid cohorts ha. better fitness results tha. the pa.enta. cohorts involved in ea.h set of crosses.
