Searching for AGN and pulsar candidates in 4FGL unassociated sources using machine learning

In the fourth Fermi Large Area Telescope source catalog(4 FGL),5064γ-ray sources are reported,including 3207 active galactic nuclei(AGNs),239 pulsars,1336 unassociated sources,92 sources with weak association with blazars at low Galactic latitudes and 190 other *** employ two different supervised machine learning classifiers,combined with the direct observation parameters given by the 4 FGL fits table,to search for sources potentially classified as AGNs and pulsars in the 1336 unassociated *** order to reduce the error caused by the large difference in the sizes of samples,we divide the classification process into two separate steps in order to identify the AGNs and the ***,we select the identified AGNs from all of the samples,and then select the identified pulsars from the remaining *** the 4 FGL sources associated or identified as AGNs,pulsars and other sources with the features selected through the K-S test and the random forest(RF)feature importance measurement,we trained,optimized and tested our classifier ***,the models are applied to classify the 1336 unassociated *** to the calculation results of the two classifiers,we report the sensitivity,specificity,accuracy in each step and the class of unassociated sources given by each *** accuracy obtained in the first step is approximately 9595%;in the second step,the obtained overall accuracy is approximately 80%.Combining the results of the two classifiers,we predict that there are 583 AGN-type candidates,115 pulsar-type candidates,154 other types ofγ-ray candidates and 484 of uncertain types.

Wire-Shaped 3D-Hybrid Supercapacitors as Substitutes for Batteries

We report a wire-shaped three-dimensional(3D)-hybrid supercapacitor with high volumetric capacitance and high energy density due to an interconnected 3D-configuration of the electrode allowing for large number of electrochemical active sites,easy access of electrolyte ions,and facile charge transport for flexible wearable *** interconnected and compact electrode delivers a high volumetric capacitance(gravimetric capacitance)of 73 F cm−3(2446 F g−1),excellent rate capability,and cycle *** 3D-nickel cobalt-layered double hydroxide onto 3D-nickel wire(NiCo LDH/3D-Ni)//the 3D-manganese oxide onto 3D-nickel wire(Mn3O4/3D-Ni)hybrid supercapacitor exhibits energy density of 153.3 Wh kg−1 and power density of 8810 W kg−*** red lightemitting diode powered by the as-prepared hybrid supercapacitor can operate for 80 min after being charged for tens of seconds and exhibit excellent electrochemical stability under various deformation *** results verify that such wire-shaped 3D-hybrid supercapacitors are promising alternatives for batteries with long charge–discharge times,for smart wearable and implantable devices.

It is surprising to find an instance of migration in the peak positions of synchrotron spectral energy distribution components during the activity epochs of Markarian 421(Mrk 421),accompanying an orphan flare at the X-ray and GeV-TeVγ-ray bands.A geometric interpretation and standard shock or stochastic acceleration models of blazar emission have difficulty reproducing these observed *** present paper introduces a linear acceleration by integrating the reconnection electric field into the particle transport model for the observed behaviors of Mrk *** note that strong evidence for evolution in characteristic of multi-wavelength spectral energy distribution including shifting the peak frequency,accompanying an orphan flare at the X-ray and GeV-TeVγ-ray bands provides an important electrostatic acceleration diagnostic in a blazar *** suitable model parameters,we apply the results of the simulation to the 13-day flaring event in March 2010 of Mrk 421,concentrating on the evolution of multiwavelength spectral energy distribution characteristic by shifting the peak *** is clear that the ratio of the electric field and magnetic field strength plays an important role in temporal evolution of the peak frequency of synchrotron spectral energy distribution *** suggest it is reasonable that the electrostatic acceleration is responsible for the evolution of multi-wavelength spectral energy distribution characteristic by shifting the peak *** on the model results,we assert that the peak frequency of the synchrotron spectral energy distribution component may signify a temporary characteristic of blazars,rather than a permanent one.

Stability of Nafcillin Sodium Solutions in the Accufuser^(■) Elastomeric Infusion Device

The aim of this study was to investigate the stabilities of two kinds of solutions of nafcillin sodium (2.5 mg/mL) in 0.9% sodium chloride solution (NS, normal saline) and in injectable 5% dextrose water (D5W) in the intravenous elastomeric infusion device (Accufuser®) based on recommended solutions and storage periods. The injectable nafcillin solutions (NS- and D5W-nafcillin) in the Accufuser®?device were stored and evaluated at controlled temperatures (room temperature, RT, 5℃ ± 2℃ and cold temperature, CT, 4℃ ± 2℃) during 6 weeks. Effects of the periods of storage (from 0 to 6 weeks) and the temperatures of storage (RT and CT) on the physicochemical appearances and concentrations of active compounds were determined. The visual clarity, pH, and concentrations of nafcillin sodium were determined by stability-indicating high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC)-ultraviolet (UV) detection. The results showed that in NS and D5W solutions, the amount of nafcillin slightly changed and remained 92.66% and 97.30% of their initial amounts at CT during 6 weeks, respectively. On the other hand, in NS and D5W solutions at RT, the amount significantly decreased with time and reached 27.66% and 31.97% of their initial amounts during 4 weeks, respectively. Slight decrement of pH was observed in CT storage while significant change was observed in the RT storage. Moreover, in CT, no significant changes in physical appearances and colors of the solutions were observed during the study. However, the solutions changed into yellowish color and some particles were detected in both kinds of nafcillin solutions (NS and D5W) after 1.5 weeks in RT conditions. To sum up, under CT two kinds of nafcillin sodium solutions (NS and D5W) were stable with time in Accufuser®?without any significant physical changes and retained almost all of the initial concentrations up to 6 weeks. Evidence for two types of Aquilegia ecalcarata and its implications for adaptation to new environments

Spurs have played an important role in the radiation of the genus Aquilegia,but little is known about how the spurless state arose in *** we aim to characterize the genetic divergence within *** and gain insights into the origin of this species.A total of 19 populations from *** and 23 populations from three of its closest relatives(Aquilegia kansuensis,Aquilegia rockii and Aquilegia yabeana)were sampled in this *** sequenced fifteen nuclear gene fragments across the genome and three chloroplast loci to conduct phylogenetic,PCoA and STRUCTURE *** analyses indicate that *** may not be monophyletic and can be divided into two distinct lineages(***Ⅰand ***Ⅱ).***Ⅰis genetically close to ***,whereas ***Ⅱis close to ***-with-migration analysis suggested that historical gene flow was low between ***Ⅰand ***,as well as between ***Ⅱand *** two distinct lineages of *** show significant divergence in 13 floral traits and also have distinct *** addition,both ***ⅠandⅡare adapted to a stony environment that differs from that of their closest relatives,indicating a habitat shift may have driven new *** findings enrich the understanding of how floral evolution contributes to species diversification.

Enzyme-treated date plum leave extract ameliorates atopic dermatitis-like skin lesion in hairless mice

Objective: To evaluate the effect of different extracts of Diospyros lotus leaves in atopic dermatitis Methods: Diospyros lotus leaves were extracted in ethanol and treated with or without hydrochloric acid or α-rhamnosidase to obtain three different extracts-ethanol, acid-hydrolyzed, and enzyme-hydrolyzed leaf extracts of date plum. The myricitrin content in all samples was measured using HPLC analysis. In vitro antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities of the extracts were determined by measuring DPPH radical scavenging activities and nitric oxide production in RAW264.7 cells, respectively. Sevenweek-old male hairless mice were used to evaluate the anti-atopic dermatitis effects of three extracts in vivo. Splenocytes and mast cells were used to further determine the anti-atopic dermatitis effects of the major compound in the ethanol leaf ***: Enzyme-hydrolyzed leaf extract showed significant in vitro antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities, and attenuated atopic dermatitis-like skin symptoms and clinical signs more significantly than ethanol and acid-hydrolyzed leaf extracts in 1-fluoro-2,4-dinitrobenzene and house dust mite antigen-treated hairless mice. Enzyme-hydrolyzed leaf extract also suppressed the serum level of immunoglobulin E, interleukin(IL)-4, tumor necrosis factor(TNF)-α, interferon(IFN)-γ, thymic stromal lymphopoietin, and thymus and activation-regulated chemokine in mice with atopic dermatitis. Furthermore, histological analysis revealed that enzymehydrolyzed leaf extract suppressed the increased epidermal thickness, dermal infiltration of inflammatory cells, and infiltration and degranulation of mast cells more markedly than the other two extracts in atopic dermatitis-like skin lesions. In addition, this extract effectively inhibited the production of IFN-γ, IL-4, and thymus and activation-regulated chemokine compared with the other two extracts in concanavalin A-stimulated splenocytes. Stability Test of Ampicillin Sodium Solutions in the Accufuser^(■) Elastomeric Infusion Device Using HPLC-UV Method

The stabilities of two kinds of solutions (30 mg/mL) of Ampicillin sodium in 0.9% NaCl in water (NS, normal saline) and in sterile water (SW) in the intravenous elastomeric infusion device (Accufuser®) were evaluated based on recommended solutions and storage periods. The injectable NS- and SW-Ampicillin solutions in the Accufuser® device were stored and evaluated at controlled temperature (room temperature, 25℃ ± 2℃ and cold temperature, 4℃ ± 2℃) during 7 days. Effects of the periods of storage (from 0 to 7 days) and the temperatures of storage (RT and CT) on the physico-chemical appearances and concentrations of active compounds were determined. The visual clarity, pH, and concentrations of Ampicillin were determined by stability-indicating high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC)-ultraviolet (UV) detection. The results showed that the amount of Ampicillin in studied solutions gradually decreased with time. The Ampicillin in NS, which was stored in CT, was relatively stable, retaining 94% of its original amount up to 7 days. The solution that showed least stability was Ampicillin in SW, which was stored in RT, retaining 80% of its original amount. Generally, solutions that were stored in CT were more stable than the solutions that were stored in RT. No significant changes in physical appearance or color of the solutions were observed during the study. Particles were not detected in any solution samples. In summary, two kinds of solutions of Ampicillin sodium, in NS and SW, showed different chemical stabilities with time in intravenous infusion device without any significant physical changes and retained about 94% vs 89% and 83% vs 80% of initial concentrations after 7 days in CT and RT, respectively. We suggest that 30 mg/mL of Ampicillin sodium in NS solution in an Accufuser® infusion device which is stored in CT can be applicable for 7 days in clinical situations.

Background Previous prediction algorithms for cardiovascular diseases(CVD)were established using risk factors retrieved largely based on empirical clinical *** study sought to identify predictors among a comprehensive variable space,and then employ machine learning(ML)algorithms to develop a novel CVD risk prediction *** From a longitudinal population-based cohort of UK Biobank,this study included 473611 CVD-free participants aged between 37 and 73 years *** implemented an ML-based data-driven pipeline to identify predictors from 645 candidate variables covering a comprehensive range of health-related factors and assessed multiple ML classifiers to establish a risk prediction model on 10-year incident *** model was validated through a leave-one center-out *** During a median follow-up of 12.2 years,31466 participants developed CVD within 10 years after baseline visits.A novel UK Biobank CVD risk prediction(UKCRP)model was established that comprised 10 predictors including age,sex,medication of cholesterol and blood pressure,cholesterol ratio(total/high-density lipoprotein),systolic blood pressure,previous angina or heart disease,number of medications taken,cystatin C,chest pain and pack-years of *** model obtained satisfied discriminative performance with an area under the receiver operating characteristic curve(AUC)of 0.762±0.010 that outperformed multiple existing clinical models,and it was well-calibrated with a Brier Score of 0.057±***,the UKCRP can obtain comparable performance for myocardial infarction(AUC 0.774±0.011)and ischaemic stroke(AUC 0.730±0.020),but inferior performance for haemorrhagic stroke(AUC 0.644±0.026).Conclusion ML-based classification models can learn expressive representations from potential high-risked CVD participants who may benefit from earlier clinical decisions.
