Background:The mastoid process can be utilized in forensic identification due to its resistance to alterations and population variations in its *** study investigated the role of mastoid parameters in the determination of sex in a Nigerian *** and Objectives:The aim of this study was to determine the gender differences in measurements of the mastoid ***,the study aimed at assessing the percentage accuracy of using the mastoid variables in sex *** and Methods:This cross-sectional study used computed tomographic images of the brain,stored in the radiology unit of a referral hospital in delta State,*** was granted by the hospital’s Ethics *** measurements of the mastoid process were taken on images of 310 patients(170 males and 140 females)aged 20-80 *** were summarized using means and standard ***,side,and age group comparisons were assessed using the independent t-test,paired t-test,and analysis of variance,*** association between variables was probed using pearson’s correlation *** discriminant function analysis was used to determine the accuracy of correct sex *** probability value was set atppt the conventional height,oblique sagittal diameter,and mediolateral inclination angle showed significant differences between age groups(ppositive correlation with age(0pprediction was 89.7%.Conclusion:The sexually dimorphic mastoid dimensions can collectively be used for sex determination with acceptable accuracies,in cases where only the fragmented parts of the temporal bone are available in delta State,Nigeria.

Social determinants of health(SDOH)affect quality of *** investigated SDOH impacts on self-perceived resilience among people with adult congenital heart disease(ACHD).Secondary analysis of data from two com-plementary studies:a survey study conducted May 2021–June 2022 and a qualitative study conducted June 2020–August *** was assessed through CD-RISC10 score(range 0–40,higher scores reﬂect greater self-perceived resilience)and interview *** and SDOH(education,employment,living situa-tion,monetary stability,ﬁnancial dependency,area deprivation index)data were collected by healthcare record review and *** used linear regression with robust standard errors to analyze survey data and performed a thematic analysis of interview *** participants(N=127)mean age was 42±14 years;51%were female,87%*** was moderate(75%)or complex(25%);41%functional class C or ***(mean 30±7)varied by monetary stability:compared to people with difﬁculty paying bills,resilience was 15.0 points higher(95%CI:6.9–23.1,ppeople reporting having enough money and 14.2 points higher(95%CI:5.9–22.4,p=0.001)for those reporting just enough *** participants’(N=25)mean age was 32 years(range 22–44);52%were female,72%*** was moderate(56%)or complex(44%);76%functional class C or *** discussed factors affecting resilience aligned with each of the major SDOH,prominently,economic stability and healthcare access and *** stability may be important for supporting self-perceived resi-lience in *** knowledge can inform the development of resilience interventions for this population.

AIM:To compare the vergence mechanisms between good and poor sleepers in university ***:A total of 64 university students were recruited in this *** validated Malay version of pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index questionnaire(pSQI-M)was used to measure the participants’sleep quality over the past *** were categorized as good sleepers(n=32)and poor sleepers(n=32)based on the pSQI-M *** and fusional vergences were measured at distance and ***-Whitney U test was used to compare heterophoria,negative fusional vergence(NFV),and positive fusional vergence(pFV)at distance and near between good and poor *** correlation analysis was used to study the relationship between pSQI-M score and pFV at ***:Both distance and near heterophorias were not significantly different between good and poor sleepers(p>0.05).There was a difference in distance pFV(ppoor sleepers,but not in distance NFV,near NFV,and near pFV(p>0.05).Distance pFV was negatively correlated with pSQI-M score(rs=-0.33,pdents with poor sleep quality demonstrates a reduced ability to maintain fusion with increasing convergence demand at *** quality assessment during binocular vision examination in university students is recommended.

This work explores experimentally the effects of DC electrical currents on lubricant film thickness alteration in lubricated sliding steel contacts in the boundary and mixed regime as measured by *** experiments were performed in a two-electrode cell-based pin-on-disk tester instrumented with ultrasonic *** and electrified tribological tests were conducted on steel flat-on-flat contacts under various speeds and loads using both a mineral base oil and a gear *** thickness,coefficient of friction(CoF),and electrical contact resistance(ECR)were measured during short experiments(30 s)in unelectrified and electrified(1.5 and 3 A)*** results suggest that film thickness,CoF,and all ECR are altered by passing DC currents through the *** particular,film thickness increased and decreased,respectively,by applying electricity at the different speeds and loads *** alterations were majorly ascribed to oil viscosity decrease by local heat and surface oxidation caused by electrical discharge and break down at the interface.

Risk management in public procurement is a critical aspect that needs to be addressed in the public *** studies have been conducted to understand the challenges and factors influencing risk management in public *** studies have explored the importance of risk management principles,the role of political influence,and the need for effective risk assessment and *** research has also highlighted the need for specific risk management mechanisms and tools to be implemented in public procurement *** management reforms in the public sector are essential but often circumvented due to assorted reasons,such as political influence and the emergence of new *** research investigation employs a quantitative research design.A total of 380 questionnaires were recovered from *** study showed that the public sector has a procurement risk management system that is effective,but there may be some areas for improvement in the prequalification process,onboarding process,and support provided to newly onboarded ***,the public sector used some strategies to mitigate and control contract risks during the procurement process,but there were some areas for improvement in the review and lessons learned process,risk mitigation measures,contract monitoring and performance evaluation mechanisms,and communication and documentation ***,the results suggest that there were constraints placed on the risk management strategies currently utilized by professionals working in the public *** constraints include insufficient support and buy-in from senior management and stakeholders,bureaucratic or administrative hurdles,inadequate policies and regulations,insufficient training and skill development opportunities,and insufficient *** study highlights the significance of tackling risk management in the realm of public procurement and offers valuable perspectives on avenues for enhancement,obstacl
