Optical parameters induced by phase transformation in RF magnetron sputtered TiO2 nanostructured thin films

Pure TiO2 thin films were deposited onto quartz substrates using a ceramic TiO2 target at an elevated substrate temperature of 573 K by RF magnetron sputtering, and an analysis of structural, optical and photoluminescence characteristics of the films upon phase transformation is reported in this paper. Structural investigations using X-ray diffraction revealed that the as-deposited film was amorphous in nature. Thermal annealing for 2 h at 873 K in air resulted in the formation of anatase phase, and a phase transformation to rutile was observed at 1073 *** increase in grain size and an improvement in crystallinity were also observed on annealing. Rod- like rutile crystallites were observed in the SEM images of the film annealed at 1273 K. As-deposited films and films annealed up to 1073 K were highly transparent in the visible region with a transparency 480%. Optical band gap of the films decreased upon thermal annealing which is attributed to phase transformation from amorphous to anatase and then to rutile. Optical parameters such as refractive index, optical conductivity and optical dielectric constant increased with increase in annealing temperature. Since rutile is the optically active phase, the superior refractive index of the film annealed at 1073 K along with its high transparency in visible region suggests the application of this film in antireflective coatings. Photoluminescence emission of maximum intensity was observed for the film annealed at 873 K, which exhibits anatase phase. Intense blue emission observed in this film makes it suitable for use in optoelectronic display devices.

Black women have always been likened to being a less physically active group compared to women of other races/ethnicity,with reports of a high prevalence of obesity and other cardiometabolic diseases among *** purpose of this study is to examine the health benefits of physical activity on women of color,as well as barriers that inhibit their *** searched PubMed and Web of Science databases for relevant research *** articles were:Published in the English Language from 2011 to February 2022;conducted predominantly on black women,African women,or African American *** were identified,screened,and data extracted following the Preferred Reporting Item for Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis(PRISMA)*** electronic search produced 2043 articles,and 33 articles were reviewed after meeting the inclusion criteria.13 articles focused on the benefits of physical activity while 20 articles addressed the barriers to physical *** was found that physical activity has various benefits for black women participants but they are being hindered from participation by some *** factors were grouped into four themes,namely Individual/Intrapersonal barriers,Socio-economic barriers,Social barriers,and Environmental *** studies have examined the benefits and barriers of physical activity among women of different racial and ethnic backgrounds,but there have been very few studies of African women,with the majority focusing on one geographical *** addition to exploring these benefits and barriers,this review offers recommendations on the areas researchers should focus on to promote physical activity in this population.

Trapped vessel of abdominal pain with hepatomegaly: A case report

Abdominal pain with elevated transaminases from inferior vena cava(IVc) obstruction is a relatively common reason for referral and further workup by a hepatologist. The differential for the cause of IVc obstruction is extensive, and the most common etiologies include clotting disorders or recent trauma. In some situations the common etiologies have been ruled out, and the underlying process for the patient's symptoms is still not explained. We present one unique case of abdominal pain and hepatomegaly secondary to IVc constriction from extrinsic compression of the diaphragm. Based on this patient's presentation, we urge that physicians be cognizant of the IVc diameter and consider extrinsic compression as a contributor to the patient's symptoms. If IVc compression from the diaphragm is confirmed, early referral to vascular surgery is strongly advised for further surgical intervention.

病原菌为了生存和侵入寄主细胞,经过漫长的进化形成了多种可介导大分子转运的分子机制,细菌Ⅲ型分泌系统(T3SS)是其中最重要的一种。T3SS又被称为"细菌注射器",病原菌利用此系统可以将效应蛋白注射到靶细胞中。近年来发现,T3SS不仅存在于在人类、动物、甚至植物的多种致病菌中,在其它环境下的细菌中也存在。本文介绍了一种最新的生物信息学预测工具(EFFEcTORSEARcH),可用于在微生物基因组中预测T3SS的基因,并且在本文中着重介绍了其在丁香假单胞菌(Pseudomonas syringae)基因组中T3SS基因的预测结果。
