This article describes the development and implementations of a novel software platform that supports real-time, science-based policy making on air quality through a user-friendly interface. The software, RSM-VAT, uses a response surface modeling（RSM） methodology and serves as a visualization and analysis tool（VAT） for three-dimensional air quality data obtained by atmospheric models. The software features a number of powerful and intuitive data visualization functions for illustrating the complex nonlinear relationship between emission reductions and air quality benefits. The case study of contiguous *** that the enhanced RSM-VAT is capable of reproducing the air quality model results with Normalized Mean Bias 〈 2% and assisting in air quality policy making in near real time.

＜正＞Carbon nanotubes are important building blocks for nanocomposite materials and nanomachinery due to their unique physical properties（electronic,optical,thermal,mechanical, etc.） and have received extensive interest in materials *** possible application is the use of carbon nanotubes as host structures for gas separation as they yield faster diffusion rates of fluid molecules than other widely used materials（e.g.,zeolites）.Several diffusion mechanisms are possible in narrow cylindrical pores,but these are still poorly *** the most important are ballistic motion,Fickian diffusion,and single-file *** motion occurs for very short times,before the molecule has had a chance to collide with anything. For longer times the motion becomes either Fickian or *** the pore is large enough, the molecules will diffuse in 3-dimensions as they would in a bulk fluid（Fickian diffusion）,but if the pore diameter becomes small enough the diffusion will crossover from Fickian to single-file diffusion,where the molecules can no longer pass each *** single-file motion is much slower than Fickian,which is much slower than ballistic.

Objective It is well established that glutamate and its receptors, particularly the N-methyl-d-aspartate receptor （NMdAR）, play a significant role in addiction and that the inhibition of glutamatergic hyperfunction reduces addictive behaviors in experimental animals. Specifically, NMdAR antagonists such as MK-801, and an inducer of the expression of glutamate transporter subtype-1 （GLT-1）（ceftriaxone） are known to inhibit addictive behavior. The purpose of this study was to determine whether the combined action of a low dose of MK-801 and a low dose of ceftriaxone provides better inhibition of the acquisition, extinction, and reinstatement of morphine-induced conditioned place preference （CPP） than either compound alone. Methods A morphine-paired CPP experiment was used to study the effects of low doses of MK-801, ceftriaxone and a combination of both on reward-related memory （acquisition, extinction, and reinstatement of morphine preference） in rats. Results A low dose of neither MK-801 （0.05 mg/kg, i.p.） nor ceftriaxone （25 mg/kg, i.p.） alone effectively impaired CPP behaviors. However, when applied in combination, they reduced the acquisition of morphine-induced CPP and completely prevented morphine reinstatement. Their combination also notably impaired the extinction of morphine-induced CPP. Conclusion The combined action of a low dose of an NMdAR antagonist （MK-801） and GLT-1 activation by ceftriaxone effectively changed different phases of CPP behavior.

The proliferation of mobile devices in society accessing data via the ＂cloud＂ is imposing a dramatic increase in the amount of information to be stored on hard disk drives （Hdd） used in servers. Forecasts are that areal densities will need to increase by as much as 35% compound per annum and by 2,020 cloud storage capacity will be around 7 zettabytes corresponding to areal densities of 2 Tb/in^2. This requires increased performance from the magnetic pole of the electromag- netic writer in the read/write head in the Hdd. Current state-of-art writing is undertaken by morphologically complex magnetic pole of sub 100 nm dimensions, in an environment of engineered magnetic shields and it needs to deliver strong directional magnetic field to areas on the recording media around 50 nm × 13 nm. This points to the need for a method to perform direct quantitative measurements of the magnetic field generated by the write pole at the nanometer scale. Here we report on the complete in situ quantitative mapping of the magnetic field generated by a functioning write pole in operation using electron holography. The results point the way towards a new nanoscale magnetic field source to further develop in situ transmission electron microscopy.

The exponential growth of population in developing countries likeIndia should focus on innovative technologies in the Agricultural processto meet the future crisis. One of the vital tasks is the crop yield predictionat its early stage;because it forms one of the most challenging tasks inprecision agriculture as it demands a deep understanding of the growth patternwith the highly nonlinear parameters. Environmental parameters like rainfall,temperature, humidity, and management practices like fertilizers, pesticides,irrigation are very dynamic in approach and vary from field to field. In theproposed work, the data were collected from paddy fields of 28 districts in widespectrum of Tamilnadu over a period of 18 years. The Statistical model MultiLinear Regression was used as a benchmark for crop yield prediction, whichyielded an accuracy of 82% owing to its wide ranging input data. Therefore,machine learning models are developed to obtain improved accuracy, namelyBack Propagation Neural Network (BPNN), Support Vector Machine, andGeneral Regression Neural Networks with the given data set. Results showthat GRNN has greater accuracy of 97% (R2 = 0.97) with a normalizedmean square error (NMSE) of 0.03. Hence GRNN can be used for crop yieldprediction in diversified geographical fields.

Shock, immobilization, and exposure to predator-related stimuli have all been used to study fear conditioning in rodents, but they have never been used in conjunction in a single study. Experiment 1 compared the effects of these three reinforcers, alone and in various combinations, on the expression of long-term conditioned fear memory and extinction in adult male rats. Whereas foot shock conditioning, alone, was rapidly extinguished;the combination of immobilization and cat exposure, or all 3 stimuli together, produced a significant increase in the magnitude of fear conditioning and greater resistance to extinction, which persisted for at least 5 weeks post-training (p d the role of the hippocampus in predator-based context and cued fear conditioning. Pharmacological suppression of hippocampal activity during fear conditioning produced a selective impairment of contextual, but not cued, fear memory. Experiment 3 investigated the effects of sleep deprivation prior to fear conditioning on the expression of fear memory. This experiment demonstrated that pre-training sleep deprivation blocked the expression of contextual (hippocampal-dependent), but not cued (hippocampal-independent), fear memory. Overall, this series of experiments has extended the use of predator exposure in conjunction with conventional reinforcers, such as foot shock and immobilization, to advance our understanding of the neurobiology of traumatic memory.

BACKGROUNd The Black/African Ancestry(AA)population has a higher prevalence of type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2dM)and a higher incidence and mortality rate for colorectal cancer(CRC)than all other races in the United States.T2dM has been shown to increase adenoma risk in predominantly white/European ancestry(EA)populations,but the effect of T2dM on adenoma risk in Black/AA individuals is less *** hypothesize that T2dM has a significant effect on adenoma risk in a predominantly Black/AA *** To investigate the effect of T2dM and race on the adenoma detection rate(AdR)in screening colonoscopies in two disparate *** A retrospective cohort study was conducted on AdR during index screening colonoscopies(age 45-75)performed at an urban public hospital serving a predominantly Black/AA population(92%)(2017-2018,n=1606).Clinical metadata collected included basic demographics,insurance,body mass index(BMI),family history of CRC,smoking,diabetes diagnosis,and aspirin *** dataset was combined with a recently reported parallel retrospective cohort data set collected at a suburban university hospital serving a predominantly White/EA population(87%)(2012-2015,n=2882).RESULTS The AdR was higher in T2dM patients than in patients without T2dM or prediabetes(35.2%vs 27.9%,P=0.0166,n=981)at the urban public *** analysis of the combined datasets showed that T2dM[odds ratio(OR)=1.29,95%confidence interval(CI):1.08-1.55,P=0.0049],smoking(current vs never OR=1.47,95%CI:1.18-1.82,current vs past OR=1.32,95%CI:1.02-1.70,P=0.0026),older age(OR=1.05 per year,95%CI:1.04-1.06,Pd male sex(OR=1.87,95%CI:1.62-2.15,Pd with increased AdR in the combined datasets,but race,aspirin use and insurance were *** T2dM,but not race,is significantly associated with increased AdR on index screening colonoscopy while controlling for other factors.
