Heart Rate variability(HRV)is the variation between beat-to-beat intervals in a consecutive *** provides enormous information about cardiac *** and echocardiography(2D echo)are the two maj.r techniques used by medical practitioners to diagnose cardiac *** 2D echo provides more accurate results as compared to electrocardiography but costs ten times *** research provides low-cost solution for cardiac health diagnosis to the level of 2D echo derived from the *** and the 2D echo data of the same cohort are collected from 15 diabetics and 15 cardiac-diseased *** this research,we found a correlation between significant HRV parameters and 2D Echo *** correlation is obtained between LF/HF(low-frequency power to high-frequency power ratio),the HRV parameter,and LVEF(left ventricle ej.ction fraction),the 2D echo *** derived various mathematical models,to predict the LVEF,from LF/HF for both cardiac diseased and diabetics *** combined best-fit model is obtained using nonlinear regression with the goodness of fit,R^(2)=94.54%.

Complete surgical resection(R0)of liver tumors,primary or metastatic,remains the main obj.ctive in management of primary and metastatic liver tumors[1].Tumors invading to the proximity of the hepatic venous outflow pose a peculiar challenge to achieve R0 resections,because this location may render a tumor *** median survival of patients with liver tumor without surgery is less than 12 months[2].Even with surgery,post-hepatectomy liver failure and subsequently increased mortality are the main problems associated with complex resection[3].Moreover,when the vein is affected,vein resection and subsequent reconstruction are *** resection is a standard practice in liver resection and transplantation[4],for example,hepatic vein reconstruction during a living-donor liver transplant,porto-mesenteric axis reconstruction during resection of advanced pancreatic cancer and caval reconstruction during resection of retroperitoneal ***,novel techniques like total hepatic vascular exclusion(HVE)[5],veno-venous bypass[6]and ex vivo hepatic resection[7,8]have facilitated curative resections of tumors close to one or more maj.r hepatic veins.

To determine whether the decreased rate of restenosis observed with drug-eluting stents(DES) has changed the treatment of patients with recurrent symptoms after stent placement, we compared patients hospitalized with presumed cardiac symptoms within 1 year after placement of either a DES or a bare metal stent(BMS). In this retrospective, single-center study, cases were identified from consecutive patients who received a DES from March 2003 to j.ly 2004 or a BMS from August 2001 to j.ne 2002. No differences were noted in the rate of hospitalization, hospitalization for presumed cardiac symptoms, use of coronary angiography in patients hospitalized for presumed cardiac symptoms, or average interval to hospitalization. In contrast, restenosis and the need for additional revascularization procedures were higher in the BMS group. The primary indication for additional revascularization was restenosis in the BMS group and progression of coronary artery disease in the DES group. In the DES group, the need for revascularization was significantly higher in patients with multi-versus single-vessel coronary artery disease(26%vs 7%, p< 0.05). In conclusion, the rate of hospitalization and use of coronary angiography in patients with recurrent symptoms were similar in patients who received a BMS or DES, despite the decreased rates of restenosis and additional revascularization procedures observed with DESs.

Uganda has been implementing the Global Health Security Agenda(GHSA)since 2015 to build its capacity according to World Health Organization(WHO)Benchmarks on International Health Regulations *** country remains prone to outbreaks,with more than 20 disease outbreaks reported in the past five years,including Ebola virus disease,Crimean-Congo haemorrhagic fever,Marburg haemorrhagic fever,measles,yellow fever,coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19),and *** resistance(AMR)is an ongoing *** scored capacity level 3 on infection prevention and control(IPC)and antimicrobial stewardship(AMS)in the 2017 j.int External Evaluation(j.E)*** gaps were being addressed after a self-assessment in *** paper describes the technical assistance approaches provided to Uganda by the Medicines,Technologies,and Pharmaceutical Services Program,funded by the United States(U.S.)Agency for International Development,and implemented by Management Sciences for *** program,through a One Health approach,supported systematic capacity strengthening based on the j.E's capacity advancement framework for global health security,specifically relating to *** program's interventions impacted 32 WHO benchmark actions(7 for AMR multisectoral coordination,16 for IPC,and 9 for AMS),contributing to Uganda's strengthened GHSA *** success built on the AMR platform,the program trained 745 health workers in IPC for the Ebola virus and provided support for simulation exercises by eight district IPC *** program also worked with the Ministry of Health to coordinate IPC for the COVID-19 response in five health regions,covering 45 districts and reaching 5,452 health workers at 858 health facilities.

An attempt has been made to give a detailed review of strained silicon technology. Various device models have been studied that consider the effect of strain on the devices, and comparisons have been drawn. A review of some modeling issues in strained silicon technology has also been outlined. The review indicates that this technology is very much required in nanoscale MOSFETs due to its several potential benefits, and there is a strong need for an analytical model which describes the complete physics of the strain technology.

In order to map the computing architecture and intelligent functions of the human brain on hardware, we need electronic devices that can emulate biological synapses and even neurons, preferably at the physical level. Beginning with the history of neuromorphic computation, in this article, we will briefly review the architecture of the brain and the learning mechanisms responsible for its plasticity. We will also introduce several memristive devices that have been used to implement electronic synapses, presenting some important milestones in this area of research and discussing their advantages, disadvantages, and future prospects.

AIM： To describe the prevalence of transfusiontransmitted virus （TTV） infection in association with hepatitis A-E viral infections in different forms of liver diseases in North India. METHODS： Sera from a total number of 137 patients, including 37 patients with acute viral hepatitis （AVH）, 37 patients with chronic viral hepatitis （CVH）, 31 patients with cirrhosis of liver and 32 patients with fulminant hepatic failure （FHF）, were analyzed both for TTV-DNA and hepatitis A-E viral markers. Presence of hepatitis B virus （HBV）, hepatitis C virus （HCV） and hepatitis E virus （HEV） infections was detected in different proportions in different groups. Moreover, rrV-DNA was simultaneously tested in 100 healthy blood donors also. RESULTS： None of the patients had hepatitis A virus （HAV） and hepatitis D virus （HDV） infections. Overall prevalence of TTV-DNA was detected in 27.1% cases with AVH, 18.9% cases with CVH, 48.4% cases with cirrhosis and 9.4% cases with FHF. TTV-DNA simultaneously tested in 100 healthy blood donors showed 27% positivity. On establishing a relation between TTV infection with other hepatitis viral infections, TTV demonstrated co-infection with HBV, HCV and HEV in these disease groups. Correlation of TTV with ALT level in sera did not demonstrate high ALT level in TTV-infected patients, suggesting that TI-V does not cause severe liver damage. CONCLUSION： TTV infection is prevalent both in patients and healthy individuals in India. However, it does not have any significant correlation with other hepatitis viral infections, nor does it produce an evidence of severe liver damage in patients with liver diseases.

Chronic pancreatitis(CP)is a complex disease associated with gene-gene or geneenvironment *** incidence of idiopathic CP has shown an increasing trend,withits phenotypeshaving changed considerably in the last two *** diseaseitself can be regulated before it reaches the stage of established CP;however,the etiopathogenesis underlying idiopathic CP remains to be established,making the condition difficult to ***,there also remains a lack of consensus regarding the beneficial effects of antioxidant therapiesfor *** is known that antioxidant therapy does not reduce inflammatory and fibrotic cytokines,making it unlikely that they could modulate the disease *** antioxidants are safe,very few studies to date have reported the long-term beneficial effects in patients with ***,studies are being performed to identify drugs that can improve symptoms and alter the natural history of ***,with their numerous pleiotropic effects,may play a role in the treatment of CP,butin 2006,their use was found to be associated with the undesirable side effect of promoting *** studies showed favourable effects of statins in CP,highlighting the particular benefits of lipophilic statins,such as lovastatin and simvastatin,over the hydrophilic statins,such as ***,studies to repurpose N-acetylcysteine as a CP therapy areyielding very promising results.
