the present paper aims at validating a Model Predictive Control(MPC),based on the Mixed Logical Dynamical(MLD)model,for Hybrid Dynamic Systems(HDSs)that explicitly involve continuous dynamics and discrete *** proposed benchmark system is a three-tank process,which is a typical case study of *** MLD-MPC controller is applied to the level control of the considered tank *** study is initially focused on the MLD approach that allows consideration of the interacting continuous dynamics with discrete events and includes the operating *** feature of MLD modeling is very advantageous when an MPC controller synthesis for the HDSs is *** the MLD model of the system is well-posed,then the MPC law synthesis can be developed based on the Mixed Integer Programming(MIP)optimization *** solving this MIP problem,a Branch and Bound(B&B)algorithm is proposed to determine the optimal control ***,a comparative study is carried out to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed hybrid controller for the HDSs compared to the standard MPC *** results show that the MLD-MPC approach outperforms the standardMPCone that doesn’t consider the hybrid aspect of the *** paper also shows a behavioral test of the MLDMPC controller against disturbances deemed as liquid leaks from the *** results are very satisfactory and show that the tracking error is minimal less than 0.1%in nominal conditions and less than 0.6%in the presence of *** results confirm the success of the MLD-MPC approach for the control of the HDSs.

Angiosperm phylogeny inferred from sequences of four mitochondrial genes

An angiosperm phylogeny was reconstructed in a maximum likelihood analysis of sequences of four mitochondrial genes,atp1,matR,nad5,and rps3,from 380 species that represent 376 genera and 296 families of seed *** is largely congruent with the phylogeny of angiosperms reconstructed from chloroplast genes atpB,matK,and rbcL,and nuclear 18S *** basalmost lineage consists of Amborella and Nymphaeales(including Hydatellaceae).Austrobaileyales follow this clade and are sister to the mesangiosperms,which include Chloranthaceae,Ceratophyllum,magnoliids,monocots,and *** the exception of Chloranthaceae being sister to Ceratophyllum,relationships among these five lineages are not well *** eudicots,Ranunculales,Sabiales,Proteales,trochodendrales,Buxales,Gunnerales,Saxifragales,Vitales,Berberidopsidales,and Dilleniales form a basal grade of lines that diverged before the diversification of rosids and *** rosids,the COM(Celastrales-Oxalidales-Malpighiales) clade is sister to malvids(or rosid II),instead of to the nitrogen-fixing clade as found in all previous large-scale molecular analyses of *** and Caryophyllales are members of an expanded asterid *** study shows that the mitochondrial genes are informative markers for resolving relationships among genera,families,or higher rank taxa across *** low substitution rates and low homoplasy levels of the mitochondrial genes relative to the chloroplast genes,as found in this study,make them particularly useful for reconstructing ancient phylogenetic relationships.A mitochondrial gene-based angiosperm phylogeny provides an independent and essential reference for comparison with hypotheses of angiosperm phylogeny based on chloroplast genes,nuclear genes,and non-molecular data to reconstruct the underlying organismal phylogeny.

the Hong Kong Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma(NPC)Study Group 0501 trial(HK0501)is the first trial that directly compares induction(IC)versus adjuvant chemotherapy(AC)both given together with concurrent chemoradiation(CCRt)treatment,which long has been a contentious issue[1].Its most salient finding is that when adjusted for platinum doses and other significant factors,the timing of the chemotherapy sequence is not *** the era where chemotherapy is administered at maximum tolerated doses(MtD),the induction strategy has the advantage because of better *** the other hand,with the realization that there may be more ways to skin a cat,adjuvant metronomic chemotherapy has gained traction at the 2021 American Society of Clinical Oncology(ASCO)meeting[2]and provides an alternative to the decades’old dogma of *** chemotherapy works by exerting an anti-angiogenic effect[3-6]and also has immune effects like removing regulatory t cells(tregs)[7]and myeloid-derived suppressor cells(MDSCs)from the tumour microenvironment[8]and causing dendritic cell maturation,which upregulates and primes the anti-tumor t cell immune response[9,10].Pediatricians are probably the first to successfully incorporate 2 years of maintenance metronomic chemotherapy in their childhood acute lymphoblastic leukaemia protocols[11]which now boast cure rates of over 90%[12].

Background:Although overnight fasting is recommended prior to endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography(ERCP),the benefits and safety of high-carbohydrate fluid diet(CFD)intake 2 h before ERCP remain *** study aimed to analyze whether high-CFD intake 2 h before ERCP can be safe and accelerate patients’***:this prospective,multicenter,randomized controlled trial involved 15 tertiary ERCP centers.A total of 1330 patients were randomized into CFD group(n=665)and fasting group(n=665).the CFD group received 400 mL of maltodextrin orally 2 h before ERCP,while the control group abstained from food/water overnight(>6 h)before *** ERCP procedures were performed using deep sedation with intravenous *** investigators were blinded but not the *** primary outcomes included postoperative fatigue and abdominal pain score,and the secondary outcomes included complications and changes in metabolic *** outcomes were analyzed according to a modified intention-to-treat ***:the post-ERCP fatigue scores were significantly lower at 4 h(4.1±2.6 vs.4.8±2.8,t=4.23,Pt=7.94,Pthe CFD group,with least-squares mean differences of 0.48(95%confidence interval[CI]:0.26-0.71,Pt=2.60,P=0.009,with a least-squares mean difference of 0.21[95%CI:0.05-0.37])and positive urine ketone levels(7.7%[39/509]vs.15.4%[82/533],χ^(2)=15.13,Pthe CFD *** CFD group had significantly less cholangitis(2.1%[13/634]vs.4.0%[26/658],χ^(2)=3.99,P=0.046)but not pancreatitis(5.5%[35/634]vs.6.5%[43/658],χ^(2)=0.59,P=0.444).Subgroup analysis revealed that CFD reduced the incidence of complications in patients with native papilla(odds ratio[OR]:0.61,95%CI:0.39-0.95,P=0.028)in the multivariable ***:Ingesting 400 mL of CFD 2 h before ERCP is safe,with a reduction in post-ERCP fatigue,

the 3-dimensional zero-pressure gas dynamics system appears in the modeling for the large scale structure formation in the universe. the aim of this paper is to construct spherically symmetric solutions to the system. the radial component of the velocity and density satisfy a simpler one dimensional problem. First we construct explicit solutions of this one dimensional case with initial and boundary conditions. then we get special radial solutions with different behaviours at the origin.

Background: tuberculosis (tB) is one of the top lethal infectious diseases worldwide. In recent years, interferon-γ (INF-γ) release assays (IGRAs) have been established as routine tests for diagnosing tB infection. However, produced INF-γ assessment cannot permit to distinguish active AtB from latent tB infection (LtBI), especially in tB epidemic areas. In addition to IFN-γ, interleukin-2 (IL-2), secreted by activated t cells, is involved in immune response against Mycobacterium tuberculosis. this could be involved in the follow up of treatment response. the aim of our study was to determine IFN-γ and IL2 cytokines profiles of patients under antituberculosis treatment. Materials and Methods: A six months’ cross-sectional study was conducted at the Jamot Hospital of Yaoundé, from May to August 2021. Sociodemographic and clinical data as well as 5 mL of blood were collected from each participant. INF-γ and IL-2 were determined using indirect Enzyme linked Immuno-Sorbent Assay (ELISA) according to the manufacturer’s recommendations and spectrum exam in combination with radiography and GeneXpert were used as standard. P-values Results: the results showed that men were more infected 14/61 (31.8%) with a high presence in active and resistant tB groups. the mean age was 41.3 ± 13.1 years with a 95% CI = [38.2 - 44.7], the age group with the highest infection rate was ranged between 31 and 40 years. the IL-2 and INF-γ means were respectively 327.6 ± 160.6 pg/mL and 26.6 ± 13.0 pg/mL in AtB patients, 251.1 ± 30.9 pg/mL and 21.4 ± 9.2 pg/mL in patients with resistant tuberculosis, while it was 149.3 ± 93.3 pg/mL and 17.9 ± 9.4 pg/mL in cured patients, 15.1 ± 8.4 pg/mL and 5.3 ± 2.6 pg/mL in participants presumed healthy (p γ and IL-2rates were observed between the different groups. Conclusion: Monitoring the serum levels of INF-γ and IL-2 would be useful for the follow-up of anti-tuberculosis patients, particularly in the both cytokines association case.

the food colorant Red 40 is an environmental risk factor for colitis development in mice with increased expression of interleukin(IL)-*** immune response is mediated by CD4^(+)t cells,but mechanistic insights into how these CD4^(+)t cells trigger andperpetuate colitis have remained ***,using single-cell transcriptomic analysis,we found that several CD4^(+)t-cell subsetsare present in the intestines of colitic mice,including an interferon(IFN)-γ-producing *** vivo challenge of primed mice withRed 40 promoted rapid activation of CD4^(+)t cells and caused marked intestinal epithelial cell(IEC)apoptosis that was attenuated bydepletion of CD4^(+)cells and blockade of IFN-γ.Ex vivo experiments showed that intestinal CD4^(+)t cells from colitic mice directlypromoted apoptosis of IECs and intestinal ***4^(+)t cell-mediated cytotoxicity was contact-dependent and required FasL,which promoted caspase-dependent cell death in target *** ablation of IFN-γconstrained IL-23-and Red 40-inducedcolitis development,and blockade of IFN-γinhibited epithelial cell death in *** results advance the understanding of themechanisms regulating colitis development caused by IL-23 and food colorants and identify IFN-γ^(+)cytotoxic CD4^(+)t cells as a newpotential therapeutic target for colitis.
