Intro.uctio.: Uro.enital pro.apse is the descent o. o.e o. mo.e elements o. the abdo.inal-pelvic co.tents into.the vaginal cavity. The anterio., middle and po.terio. anato.ical co.partments may be invo.ved giving rise to.several types o. genital pro.apse. Ho.ever, there are vario.s therapeutic mo.alities ranging fro. o.servatio.al pro.edures to.surgery. In Yao.nde, uro.enital pro.apse appears to.be a rare clinical entity, and its treatment has no. been clearly stated. There is limited data abo.t this subject in o.r co.text. o.r aim was to.study the clinical and therapeutic aspects o. uro.enital pro.apse in Yao.nde. Metho.s: We co.ducted a descriptive cro.s-sectio.al study with retro.pective data co.lectio. at the Yao.nde Gynaeco.o.ical o.stetric and Pediatric Ho.pital (YGo.H) and the Yao.nde Central Ho.pital (YCH) o.er a perio. o. 05 mo.ths (fro. February 2022 to.June 2022). All wo.en aged ≥30 years and all wo.en with do.umented uro.enital pro.apse admitted to.the maternity and uro.o.y departments o. these two.health facilities were included. Data were co.lected using a structured questio.naire. Data was analyzed using IBM SPSS (statistical package fo. so.ial sciences) so.tware versio. 23.0 and the data were repo.ted as mean, standard deviatio., frequencies and percentages. Results: A to.al o. 50 patients were recruited;the mean age was 45.8 ± 17 years. The age range was fro. 21 to.72 years. Majo.ity o. the patients were aged mo.e than 55 years (32%). Mo.t o. the patients attended primary educatio. (48%). Fo.ty percent o. the patients were ho.sewives. The majo.ity o. the patients were fro. West Camero.n (26%). The mo.t co.mo. reaso. fo. co.sultatio. was pelvic heaviness (54%). The mo.t prevalent clinical sign was cysto.ele (56%), fo.lo.ed by hystero.ele (54%). Acco.ding to.the Baden Walker classificatio., o.e-third o. the patients were classified as first degree (36%). Mo.e than half (58%) o. patients had the co.ditio. lo.ated at the first stage. Backgro.nd: In recent times, there has been an increase in the number o. Lassa fever cases resulting fro. the several episo.es o. Lassa fever epidemics ravaging Nigeria and o.her West African co.ntries. The presence o. Lassa virus in ro.ents o.her than the majo. reservo.r (Masto.ys natalensis) has been a public health co.cern as to.the actual burden o. the disease. It is therefo.e o. a public health necessity to.explo.e the LASV RNA habo.ring po.ential o. several species o. ro.ents in endemic as well as no.-endemic areas fo. pro.er preventio. o. emergence o. o.tbreaks in no.-endemic areas. o.jectives: The aim o. this study was to.detect the presence o. LASV RNA in different species o. ro.ents in Iko.o.u, Lago. state and Abeo.uta, o.un state. Metho.s: A to.al o. ninety o.e (91) ro.ents were captured fro. Iko.o.u, Lago. State (61 ro.ents) and Abeo.uta, o.un State (30 ro.ents), euthanized, bled, and plasma o.tained fo. the detectio. o. LASV RNA by Reverse Transcriptase Po.ymerase Chain Reactio.. Results: A to.al o. 91 ro.ents co.sisting o. 77 Rattus rattus and 14 Cro.idura spp. The S segment o. LASV RNA was no. in any o. the 91 ro.ents’ plasma samples. Co.clusio.: The ro.ents captured within the rural co.munities o. Iko.o.u, Lago. State and Abeo.uta, o.un State were fo.nd no. to.habo.r the LASV RNA. This study is limited by the relatively small sample size. Similar studies sho.ld be enco.raged bo.h in endemic and no.-endemic areas in o.der to.understand the actual burden o. Lassa fever as well as put into.check future epidemics.

Backgro.nd There is increasing epidemio.o.ical evidence suppo.ting the asso.iatio. between o.cho.erciasis and seizures, reinfo.cing the co.cept o. o.cho.erciasis-asso.iated epilepsy (o.E). The aim o. this paper is to.pro.ide an update o. the new kno.ledge abo.t o.E and to.pro.o.e reco.mendatio.s to.the Wo.ld Health o.ganizatio. ho. to.address this public health *** text During the 2nd Internatio.al Wo.ksho. o. o.E held o. 19-21 September, 2023, in Antwerp, Belgium, participants reco.nised o.E as a substantial yet neglected public health pro.lem, particularly in areas o. sub-Saharan Africa where o.cho.erciasis remains hyperendemic. Evidence fro. pro.pective po.ulatio.-based studies suggest that strengthening o.cho.erciasis eliminatio. effo.ts leads to.a significant reductio. o. o.E incidence. There is a need to.validate an o.E case definitio. to.estimate the burden o. disease and identify o.cho.erciasis-endemic areas requiring intensificatio. o. o.cho.erciasis eliminatio. pro.rammes and integratio. o. epilepsy care. It is expected that raising awareness abo.t o.E will bo.st the po.ulatio. uptake o. ivermectin. The implementatio. o. a co.munity-based epilepsy treatment pro.ramme o.fering free anti-seizure medicatio.s (ASMs) has sho.n high effectiveness in reducing the frequency o. seizures and impro.ing the o.erall quality o. life o. peo.le with *** To.reduce o.E burden, enhanced co.labo.atio. between o.cho.erciasis and mental health pro.rammes at co.munity, natio.al, and internatio.al levels is required. Urgent effo.ts are needed to.ensure the uninterrupted pro.isio. o. free ASMs in o.cho.erciasis-endemic areas. Starting fro. sisso.rin (1), a natural iso.lavo.o.d iso.ated fro. Trifo.ium baccarinii (Fabaceae), o.e new semisynthetic derivative, 6-nitro.io.hanin A (1b) and two.kno.n derivatives, 8-nitro.io.hanin A (1a) and 2",3",4",6"-tetraacetylsisso.rin (1c) have been o.tained after perfo.ming nitratio. and acetylatio. reactio.s. Their structures were assigned after interpretatio. o. their spectro.etric (HR-ESI-MS) and spectro.co.ic (NMR 1D and 2D) data and by co.pariso. with tho.e repo.ted in the literature. The substrate as well as the semisynthetic derivatives were evaluated fo. their antibacterial activities against six strains. The results reveal that they are inactive o. weakly active o. the strains tested with the exceptio. o. 8-nitro.io.hanin A (1a) which sho.ed mo.erate activity (MIC = 62.5 μg∙mL−1) o. Staphylo.o.cus aureus ATCC 43300.

The East African (EA) regio. highly experiences intra-seaso.al and inter-annual variatio. in rainfall amo.nts. This study investigates the driving facto.s fo. ano.alo.s rainfall events o.served during the seaso. o. o.to.er-No.ember-December (o.D) 2019 o.er the regio.. The study utilized daily rainfall data fro. Climate Hazards Gro.p InfraRed Precipitatio. with Statio. Data Versio. 2 (CHIRPSv2) and the driving systems data. Statistical spatio.empo.al analysis, co.relatio., and co.po.ite techniques were perfo.med to.investigate the teleco.nectio. between o.D 2019 seaso.al rainfall and glo.al syno.tic climate systems. The findings sho.ed that the o.D 2019 experienced seaso.al rainfall that was twice o. greater than its seaso.al climato.o.y and varied with lo.atio.. Further, the o.D 2019 rainfall sho.ed a po.itive co.relatio. with the Indian o.ean Dipo.e (Io.) (0.81), Nino.3 (0.51), Nino.3.4 (0.47), Nino.4 (0.40), Pacific Decadal o.cillatio. (PDo. (0.22), and No.th Tro.ical Atlantic (NTA) (0.02), while El Nino.So.thern o.cillatio. (ENSo. sho.ed a negative co.relatio. (−0.30). The regio. was do.inated by so.theasterly warming and humid winds that o.iginated fro. the Indian o.ean, while the geo.o.ential height, vertical velo.ity, and vo.ticity ano.alies were clo.ely related to.the ano.alo.s rainfall characteristics. The study deduced that the Io. was the majo. syno.tic system that influenced maximum rainfall during the peak seaso. o. o.D 2019. In o.her fields o. activity such as co.structio. and deco.atio., this classificatio. makes sense and fully plays its ro.e. Ho.ever, this classificatio. is slo., appro.imate and subjective. Auto.atic classificatio. curbs this subjectivity and fills this gap by o.fering metho.s that reflect human perceptio.. We pro.o.e a new appro.ch to.ro.k classificatio. based o. direct-view images o. ro.ks. The aim is to.take advantage o. feature extractio. metho.s to.estimate a ro.k dictio.ary. In this wo.k, we have develo.ed a classificatio. metho. o.tained by co.catenating fo.r (4) K-SVD variants into.a single signature. This metho. is based o. the K-SVD algo.ithm co.bined with fo.r (4) feature extractio. techniques: DCT, Gabo. filters, D-ALBPCSF and G-ALBPCSF, resulting in the fo.r (4) variants named K-Gabo., K-DCT, KD-ALBPCSF and KD-ALBPCSF respectively. In this wo.k, we develo.ed a classificatio. metho. o.tained by co.catenating fo.r (4) variants o. K-SVD. The perfo.mance o. o.r metho. was evaluated o. the basis o. perfo.mance indicato.s such as accuracy with o.her 96% success rate.

It is ackno.ledged to.ay within the scientific co.munity that two.types o. actio.s must be co.sidered to.limit glo.al warming: mitigatio. actio.s by reducing GHG emissio.s, to.co.tain the rate o. glo.al warming, and adaptatio. actio.s to.adapt so.ieties to.Climate Change, to.limit lo.ses and damages [1] [2]. As far as adaptatio. actio.s are co.cerned, numerical simulatio., due to.its results, its co.ts which require less investment than tests carried o.t o. co.plex mechanical structures, and its implementatio. facilities, appears to.be a majo. step in the design and predictio. o. co.plex mechanical systems. Ho.ever, despite the quality o. the results o.tained, biases and inaccuracies related to.the structure o. the mo.els do.exist. Therefo.e, there is a need to.validate the results o. this SARIMA-LSTM-digital learning mo.el adjusted by a matching appro.ch, “calculating-test”, in o.der to.assess the quality o. the results and the perfo.mance o. the mo.el. The metho.o.o.y co.sists o. explo.ting two.climatic databases (temperature and precipitatio.), o.e o. which is in-situ and the o.her spatial, all derived fro. grid po.nts. Data fro. the do. grids are pro.essed and sto.ed in specific fo.mats and, thro.gh machine learning appro.ches, co.plex mathematical equatio.s are wo.ked o.t and interco.nectio.s within the climate system established. Thro.gh this mathematical appro.ch, it is po.sible to.predict the future climate o. the Sudano.Sahelian zo.e o. Camero.n and to.pro.o.e adaptatio. strategies.

Terminalia mantaly H. Perrier is a plant used in traditio.al medicine fo. the treatment o. vario.s patho.o.ies. Ho.ever, Terminalia mantaly H. Perrier co.ld present po.ential health effects o. patients. In o.der to.determine the po.sible cardio.o.ic effects o. the hydro.alco.o.ic extract o. the bark o. Terminalia mantaly H. Perrier, (HAEBTM) fo.ty (40) rats distributed rando.ly into.4 gro.ps, including 10 animals per gro.p (5 males and 5 females) were used. Animals in gro.p 1 received distilled water and were used as a co.tro. gro.p. o. the o.her hand, gro.ps 2, 3, 4 received o.al administratio. a vo.ume o. the hydro.lco.o.ic extract o. Terminalia mantaly H. Perrier co.respo.ding to.1 mL/100g o. bo.y weight at 150 mg/kg, 300 mg/kg, 600 mg/kg, respectively. The extract was administered daily at the same time fo. 28 days and serum was co.lected o.ce a week to.evaluate cardiac bio.hemical markers using spectro.ho.o.etric metho.s using a Co.as C311 HITACHI bio.hemistry system. After o.e mo.th o. study, all rats were euthanized by o.erdo.e o. ether, and the hearts o. the rats were remo.ed fo. gro.s mo.pho.o.ical and histo.atho.o.ical analysis. Results were analysed using variance analysis (ANo.A) to.co.pare o.tco.es as a functio. o. do.es administered and treatment times. The bio.hemical parameters ALT, LDH, CPK, CPKMB sho.ed no.significant change (p Terminalia mantaly sho.ed no.lesio.s, edema and necro.is. These results suggest that the hydro.lco.o.ic extract o. Terminalia mantaly did no. interfere with the functio.ing o. alter the integrity o. the heart.
