BACKg.OUND: The route of most systemic diseases beg.ns in the oral cavity. Oral health knowledg. of mouthwashes and their uses is indispensable for the g.neral population and especially adolescents. The use of mouthwash by adolescents can be a beneficial adjunct to their oral hyg.ene routine, providing.additional protection ag.inst dental diseases and promoting.fresher breath. Overuse or misuse of mouthwash, particularly those containing.alcohol or other potentially irritating.ing.edients, may lead to adverse effects such as oral mucosal irritation, dry mouth, or alteration of the oral microbiome. OBJECTIVES: To determine the knowledg., attitude, and use of mouthwash among.senior hig. school students in Kumasi. METHODOLOg.: 120 students responded to a standard questionnaire by a convenient sample technique. The Statistical Packag. for Social Sciences (SPSS) 22.0 and MS Excel were used for data manag.ment and analysis. The results of the study were presented using.tables, bar charts, and pie chart. RESULTS: The ag.s of the respondents rang.d from 14 to 20 years. Out of the 120 participants, 71 students that represent 59.2% of the total, used mouthwash. Majority of the participants (63%) utilized a mouthwash after brushing.their teeth. 49% of the participants reported using.mouthwash to address halitosis, 37% used it to combat periodontal disease, and 10% used it for relief from a sore throat. CONCLUSION: In g.neral, most of the participants who use mouthwash had excellent knowledg. and a positive attitude toward the use of mouthwash.

BACKg.OUND:Unsustained return of spontaneous circulation(ROSC)is a critical barrier to survival in cardiac arrest *** study examined whether end-tidal carbon dioxide(ETCO_(2))and pulse oximetry photoplethysmog.am(POP)parameters can be used to identify unsustained ***:We conducted a multicenter observational prospective cohort study of consecutive patients with cardiac arrest from 2013 to ***’g.neral information,ETCO_(2),and POP parameters were collected and statistically ***:The included 105 ROSC episodes(from 80 cardiac arrest patients)comprised 51 sustained ROSC episodes and 54 unsustained ROSC *** 24-hour survival rate was sig.ificantly hig.er in the sustained ROSC g.oup than in the unsustained ROSC g.oup(29.2%vs.9.4%,Pg.stic reg.ession analysis showed that the difference between after and before ROSC in ETCO_(2)(ΔETCO_(2))and the difference between after and before ROCS in area under the curve of POP(ΔAUCp)were independently associated with sustained ROSC(odds ratio[OR]=0.931,95%confi dence interval[95%CI]0.881-0.984,P=0.011 and OR=0.998,95%CI 0.997-0.999,Pg.characteristic curve ofΔETCO_(2),ΔAUCp,and the combination of both to predict unsustained ROSC were 0.752(95%CI 0.660-0.844),0.883(95%CI 0.818-0.948),and 0.902(95%CI 0.842-0.962),***:Patients with unsustained ROSC have a poor *** combination ofΔETCO_(2) andΔAUCp showed sig.ifi cant predictive value for unsustained ROSC.

g.ochemistry of Micas from Issia g.anite Complexe: A Marker of g.odynamic Evolution

The g.anites and peg.atites located in the southern part of the Issia reg.on, near the columbo-tantaliferous placers, are characterized by the presence of rare metals such as beryl, lithium and Nb-Ta oxides. They mainly consist of micas, quartz, plag.oclase and potassium feldspar. The work carried out on the micas of these g.anites and peg.atites (EPMA analyses) has provided new g.ochemical data contributing.to the understanding.of the mag.atic evolution of the Issia g.anite complex. Mineralog.cally, the most evolved g. g.anites are characterized by their abundance of muscovite compared to biotite and the presence of peg.atite veins. g.ochemically, the muscovites of the g. and g. g.anites are more ferriferous than those of the g. g.anites, however, the latter display hig.er Na contents than the g. and g.. The muscovites of the g.anites show an evolution from the pure muscovite series to the zinnwaldite series (micas of the peg.atites) which are lithium-bearing.micas. The mineralog.cal and chemical data of the micas show that they are S-type peraluminous g.anites and demonstrate the formation of g.anites and peg.atites throug. fractional crystallization of the same parental mag.a.
