Labor resembles an inflammatory response that includes secretion of cytokines/chemokines by resident and infiltrating immune cells into reproductive tissues and the maternal/fetal interface. Untimely activation of these inflammatory pathways leads to preterm labor, which can result in preterm birth. Preterm birth is a major determinant of neonatal mortality and morbidity; therefore, the elucidation of the process of labor at a cellular and molecular level is essential for understanding the pathophysiology of preterm labor. Here, we summarize the role of innate and adaptive immune cells in the physiological or pathological activation of labor. We review published literature regarding the role of innate and adaptive immune cells in the cervix, myometrium, fetal membranes, decidua and the fetus in late pregnancy and labor at term and preterm. Accumulating evidence suggests that innate immune cells （neutrophils, macrophages and mast cells） mediate the process of labor by releasing pro-inflammatory factors such as cytokines, chemokines and matrix metalloproteinases. Adaptive immune cells （T-cell subsets and B cells） participate in the maintenance of fetomaternal tolerance during pregnancy, and an alteration in their function or abundance may lead to labor at term or preterm. Also, immune cells that bridge the innate and adaptive immune systems （natural killer T （nKT） cells and dendritic cells （DCs）） seem to participate in the pathophysiology of preterm labor. In conclusion, a balance between innate and adaptive immune cells is required in order to sustain pregnancy; an alteration of this balance will lead to labor at term or preterm.

Let （Ω, ∑） be a measurable space and mo ： E→ Xo and m1 ： E → X1 be positive vector measures with values in the Banach KSthe function spaces Xo and X1. If 0 〈 a 〈 1, we define a X01-ax1a new vector measure [m0, m]a with values in the Calderdn lattice interpolation space and we analyze the space of integrable functions with respect to measure [m0, m1]a in order to prove suitable extensions of the classical Stein Weiss formulas that hold for the complex interpolation of LP-spaces. Since each p-convex order continuous Kothe function space with weak order unit can be represented as a space of p-integrable functions with respect to a vector measure, we provide in this way a technique to obtain representations of the corresponding complex interpolation spaces. As applications, we provide a Riesz-Thorin theorem for spaces of p-integrable functions with respect to vector measures and a formula for representing the interpolation of the injective tensor product of such spaces.

Multiple scattering of elastic waves in realistic media makes that averagefield intensities or energy densities follow diffusive processes. In such regime the successiveP to S energy conversions by distributed random inhomogeneities give rise toequipartition which means that in the phase space the available elastic energy is distributedin averagewith equal amounts among the possible states of P and S waves. Insuch diffusive regime the P to S energy ratio equilibrates in an universal way independentof the particular details of the scattering. It has been demonstrated that averagingthe cross correlations at any two points of an elastic medium subjected to diffuse elasticwavefields leads to the emergence of the Green function, which is the wave fieldthat would be observed at one position if an impulsive load is applied at the other. Inthis work we study the problem of the retrieval of the 2D tensor elastodynamic Greenfunction in an infinite elastic space containing a circular cylinder inclusion. We illuminateisotropically the elastic spacewith plane waves. We assume the spectra for both Pand S waves uniform but such that the energy ratio ES/EP=(a/b)2, which is the onepredicted by equipartition theory in two-dimensions. We then show that the Fouriertransform of azimuthal average of the cross-correlation of motion between two pointswithin an elastic medium is proportional to the imaginary part of the exact Green tensorfunction between these points. The numerical results presented here point out thepossibility of detection and imaging of diffractors and resonant diffractors by crosscorrelation even in presence of attenuation exists.

Gastrointestinal stromal tumors(GISTs) are the most common mesenchymal tumors located in the alimentary tract. Its usual manifestation is gastrointestinal bleeding. However, small asymptomatic lesions are frequently detected as incidental finding. Characteristically, most GISTs(> 95%) are positive for the KIT protein(CD117) by IHC staining and approximately 80%-90% of GISTs carry a mutation in the c-KIT or PDGFRA genes. Mutational analysis should be performed when planning adjuvant and neoadjuvant therapy, due to its possible resistance to conventional treatment. The arise of tyrosine kinase inhibitor has supposed a revolution in GISTs treatment being useful as adjuvant, neoadjuvant or recurrence disease treatment. That is why a multidisciplinary approach to this disease is required. The correct characterization of the tumor at diagnosis(the diagnosis of recurrences and the evaluation of the response to treatment with tyrosine kinase inhibitors) is fundamental for facing these tumors and requires specialized Endoscopist, Radiologists and nuclear Medicine Physician. Surgery is the only potentially curative treatment for suspected resectable GIST. In the case of high risk GISTs, surgery plus adjuvantImatinib-Mesylate for 3 years is the standard treatment. neoadjuvant imatinib-mesylate should be considered to shrink the tumor in case of locally advanced primary or recurrence disease, unresectable or potentially resectable metastasic tumors, and potentially resectable disease in complex anatomic locations to decrease the related morbidity. In the case of Metastatic GIST under neoadjuvant treatment, when there are complete response, stable disease or limited disease progression, complete cytoreductive surgery could be a therapeutic option if feasible.

Paralichthys adspersus is a native species from the Pacific coast of South America that is of great economic importance for Peruvian *** though establishing sustainable farming depends on avoiding irreversible damage to the population gene pool due to processes such as inbreeding,studies focusing on genetically characterizing farmed stocks are yet to be *** using ten microsatellite loci on captive and wild individuals of ***,we successfully characterized the only commercial broodstock of this species in Peru by means of determining the genetic diversity and inferring *** most microsatellite loci showed deviations from Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium,the genetic diversity levels in the commercial broodstock were considered healthy compared to those obtained for a wild population,with an average number of alleles of 17.40,an effective number of alleles of 9.14,and an observed and expected heterozygosity of 0.49 and *** significant differences between the broodstock and the wild population in terms of genetic diversity were *** fixation index and analysis of molecular variance also indicated a low rate of differentiation between both *** relatedness estimation,the analysis based on five method-of-moment estimators and a maximum-likelihood estimator showed the category“unrelated”as being the most probable relationship among the individuals within the commercial *** findings reveal the conservation of genetic diversity in this population and outline potential breeding strategies that hatchery managers could use to minimize the loss of genetic diversity and long-term *** could help establish proper genetic management in captive populations of *** and should apply to other captive stocks where pedigree information is lacking.

A paper, ＂non-existence of Shilnikov chaos in continuous-time systems＂ was published in the journal Applied Mathematics and Mechanics （English Edition）. The authors gave sufficient conditions for the non-existence of homoclinic and heteroclinic orbits in an nth-order autonomous system. Unfortunately, we show in this comment that the proof presented is erroneous and the result is invalid. We also provide two counterexamples of the wrong criterion stated by the authors.

Improving the Selection of Virgin Binders for Recycled Hot Mixtures in Ontario

The design of Recycled Hot Mixtures(RHM)in the United States is based on the guidelines provided by the national Cooperative Highway Research Program(nCHRP)Report ***,the extreme climatic characteristics in Canada require a validation on the selection of the virgin binders especially for Superpave Surface layer *** paper shows the results of a laboratory characterization of twelve conventional Superpave 12.5 mm mixtures,four of them with high Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement(RAP)*** Stress Restrained Specimen Test(TSRST)was conducted on triplicate samples for each mixture,and also the continuous grades for the binders were *** findings were compared with the recent guidelines provided by the nCHRP Report *** modulus was performed and used to determine the critical temperatures of the blended binder without *** analyses suggest that the virgin binder could be selected based on the critical temperature of the climate zone and the RAP content,and that the use of softer binders could not guaranty that the mixtures have the desired performance to low temperature cracking.
